Use 1.5.2, epsxe 1.6 doesn't like CC. And use the "-noauto" command, it should work fine then.

edit: sorry to bother you again but I cant see the menu, when I try to enter it I only get a black screen somebody knows how to fix this

Here is what I used:

Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.7

Resolution/Color:
- 1024x768 Window mode
- Internal X resolution: 2
- Internal Y resolution: 2
- Keep psx aspect ratio: on
- No render-to-texture: off

- Filtering: 4
- Hi-Res textures: 2
- TexWin pixel shader: on
- VRam size: 128 MBytes

Framerate:
- FPS limitation: on
- Frame skipping: off
- FPS limit: 60.0

Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 1
- Framebuffer effects: 3
- Framebuffer uploads: 2

Misc:
- Scanlines: off
- Mdec filter: on
- Screen filtering: on
- Shader effects: 0/1
- Flicker-fix border size: 0
- GF4/XP crash fix: off
- Game fixes: on [00001000]

Try and see if it works(google the plugin if you don't have it).

If all that fails, or you wish to try something new, use the pSX emulator. It runs Cross perfectly for me, with no plugins to mess around with. epsxe is nice for enhanced graphics, but for compatibility and ease of use, I really really recommend pSX.

Something that Chrono Cross Disc 1 needs have enabled is the "Odd/Even Bit Hack" in the video options. Apparently Disc 2 doesn't need it, but Disc 1 does to help alleviate these black screens.

Go to Video > Configure > "Misc" section > Check "Special Game Fixes" > Press the "..." button > Select "Odd/Even Bit Hack"

Even though it says it's for ePSXe versions 1.5.2 and older, enable it. Doing that fixed those problems for me.

Another vote for psX - by far the best emulator now for accurate emulation.
