Woo hoo! We won the House, as expected, and a majority of state governorships, also as expected. It looks like we won't take the Senate--yet again as expected--Update: We're more likely to win the Senate at this point--but in either case the margin will be close enough to improve our voice in that body significantly. There may even be a recount, which is looking especially likely in VA--which means it ain't over yet. South Dakota overturned that horrible abortion ban, too.

All in all...

Good, good. I love that the Republican stranglehold on the US government is coming to a long overdue end.

No, the Republican "stranglehold" isn't coming to an end. Nobody's giving up.

Whether you give up is irrelevant once you've lost for two years, short of making some coup power play. Now we won't have to worry about stupid amendments, though...that one about Schwarzenegger for president makes me curious. I mean, wouldn't that be so cool?

Anyhow, despite the health of the economy, the current administration has much to answer for. This is the byproduct of their error. Don't blame the Democrats; blame the bumbling leaders who motivated voters to support them.

Your comment reminds of President Schwarzengger in the Demolition Man.  If that happens then he'll be the second president actor but this is less likely to happen.

Trust me, I seriously doubt the country's going to amend the Constitution to allow one certain meathead the right to take office.

If they do, dammit, I'm moving to China.

That'd be sooo cool...Arnold has done some good things for California, and has retained governership despite the crumpling of his economic reform.
