The real allure of knowledge, per se, is not that it empowers one to boast of an impressive collection of facts, but that it gives both depth and breadth to the human experience, ultimately enriching our potential as well as our accomplishments. You're definitely on the right track about everything boiling down to pleasure, Hadriel, but why stop there? The human experience is more than just pleasure. You'd have to use a pretty broad definition of that word to account for just how much we benefit from all sorts of episodes in our lives that would appear farthest from pleasurable.

I love the FF6 ending theme. Shadow's and Edgar's themes really get me going.

I hate sarcasm and irony.

Sometimes, sarcasm is the best way to ruin someone's argument.

Thing is, I don't think the idealized human experience should be anything except pleasure.  There are a great deal of experiences that require no knowledge of evil or pain to enjoy.  Like sex.  Especially sex.  But that idealized human experience probably isn't possible, because most of the things we do enjoy require knowledge of something we don't in order to appreciate them.

Speaking of music, that's one of the things I love to the point of not being able to live without.  The swelling of a live orchestra is one of the few truly priceless experiences in the world.

80's music videos.

What's this? A pop video without booty, jewelry, logos, expensive cars, whiny guys and girls, and unoriginal dancing?

Right. Definetely.

David Bowie is like Bob Dylan. He can never quit, and he does a lot of performances with other artists.

Seems like it.

I love the FF6 ending theme. Shadow's and Edgar's themes really get me going.

I prefer the FF8 ending better.  It's a happy ending that most people like.

As I recall it didn't seem like an especially happy ending for Laguna...it was definately an ending though...I think both have very nice, conclusive endings...

But Shadow's theme does indeed rock...so does Cyan's!
