The images of porn themselves are usually hardly the most grotesque part of 4chan. It's the users.
eh, maybe in /b/ and /d/, most of the people I talk to were pretty decent. Hell, the dude who was a mod for a furrotic site was actually a pretty decent dude.

You seem to say that as if you're surprised. What is actually inherently wrong with paedophilia, furrie...philia(?) (did I I spell it right? I don't even know exactly what that means, but I guess it's to do with non-human animals and their genatalia). This kind of knee-jerk reaction has a nasty way of looking like prejudiced hatred on a par with homophobia. Now if anyone's going to bother defending that hatred, at least do the courtesy not to dodge the bullet but explain what's inherently wrong with all people with the fetish and justify your point(s). I can accept that perhaps some of them have a higher proportion of douchebags and immoral folk, but I refute that every single one of each person in these groups is immoral and a douchebag. And no, grey, I'm not stating yet that you hate furries (though I haven't dismissed the possibility), I was merely reminded of the subject of this post by yours.

Are you suggesting decency is proportional to weirdness? If so, demonstrate there's a direct correlation between weirdness and decency as well as your definitions of both.

There is an inherent silliness in people who believe that on another plane of existence, they are actual woodlands creatures. Some furries do.

Exactly, some, not all. For one to act as if another being a furry is inherently wrong cannot be justified, as the preconceived notions many seem to have only apply to a portion of the... furry population let's say.

It's no more silly than the billions of Christians, Muslims, Jews, ect believing in their chosen Sky Fairy.

As for 4chan, it's absolutely disgusting. Not because of child molesters(I intentionally use child molester because far too often people equate paedophilia--being attracted to children--as being child molestation, when that simply isn't the case. In fact, most paedophiles are horribly disgusted by their attraction and they simply want help, yet whenever they seek that help society immediately treats them as if they MUST be child molesters. It's disgusting and sickening, the kind of attitude people have. It's like saying that because I am a heterosexual male attracted to women, I must be a rapist. Of course that's ridiculous, but it's the exact same logic employed.)

4Chan is disgusting because of the vast sums of people who's daily lives are all about causing misery to others, whether it's through exploiting the children in child pornography "for the lulz" or doing their various "raids" on places. Anonymous is probably the worst of them all on this regard. They are nothing more than a vigilante mob that goes after non-crimes, like "attention-whoring" or "faggotry." Really, really disgusting. I don't care who they've raided...I know they've raided a famous racist's place in the past...it's all wrong, no matter who you do it to. Nothing people do on the internet deserves their family having death threats targeted towards them, or having their friend's computer fried.

And your pride makes it even more disgusting, Grey-The-Angel, because you can't see it for the problem that it is. Oh, and by the way, the guy in the report who was voice masked and face masked? I knew him...he was an infamous user on NationStates who often valiently went against Anonymous and the various chan sites.

Exactly. It's a vicious cycle: people are forced to be disgusted, discouraged from getting help and if they seek it, they are often rebutted, continuing the cycle.

yeah 420 chan had it, but most of the site shown was from 4chan. And of course, naturally, we just attacked this shit out of them for it.

as for the ultimate evil: yeah, but you can amazing dicussion out of them if you play it right: I have two full threads saved for a report on Opinion on East  manga growing more popular then Western cartoon. I've learned more about cars then I should have ever learned.

I think its all the present notions of the site itself. Granted, I'm not going to disagree with anybody here, I'm just saying: two sides to the coin.

We? Did you bother adding to the DoS attack? Or do you feel that simply visiting and posting makes you accountable for what some of the people who visit the site do?

And then in the context of "4chan is evil" you immediately distance yourself. Why? Don't want the negative aspects to be associated with you? So it's okay to be associated when the news sensationalizes 4chan as a "cool, uber-hacker group", but the horrible, grotesque image swapping, the porn sharing, and all the senseless bullshit that makes up regular posting there has nothing to do with you, right?

It's either we or they. Choose one and stick to it.

Anyway, 4chan is 4chan; it's just a site, and an Internet mob is just a mob. DoS attacks and messing with MySpace accounts is trivial crap. None of that makes 4chan more than an anonymous bunch of (at best) everyday people emboldened by their own anonymity, and it certainly doesn't make them an underground organization of super hackers.
what the fuck are you talking about? I never distanced myself from that. I said it "yeah, I'm not going to bother trying to say 'na, we don't do that funky shit'". All I said was two sides to a coin: they're really fucking smart based on the subject they stay in, which is divided up on site. I'm not even going to try and hide that we have porn, gay porn, lesbian, and straight up nasty ass porn, hell I won't even try and hide the fact I've posted up in those threads, or the fact you can actually find me tripfaggin up in there. But talk to the guys in weapons or auto or tech, and its like speaking a brand new fucking language: their knowledge of cars/guns/computers because insane. Like I said: their assholes, but you CAN get a good conversation out of them.

Way to miss the point there, Ramsus.

The only reason I use they is because THEY do stuff, I just kinda sit back and watch because I don't even know when they raid things. Can't claim what you don't do.

What valuable point did I miss? Did anything I say conflict with your point that there are some honestly knowledgeable people in the 4chan community? I didn't, because I understood that aspect of what you were saying, and the point of my post wasn't to argue with you.

I simply assumed that you were subconsciously managing your association with the site's good points and bad points through your pronoun usage, since that's what it seemed like, and then pointing out what an ass that makes you. I'm not so sure now though, because apparently you're just fucking hopeless when it comes to pronouns and clear language to begin with. Otherwise, you'd realize that "THEY" is about as distant as it gets.

Besides that, two sides to what coin? You sound like a fucking idiot. Like I said, it's a community of everyday people emboldened by anonymity and several layers of technological indirection. Nothing that goes on there is surprising, given the environment, and none of it means the posters there are in any way all that different from anyone else. It certainly doesn't deny them the possibility of being knowledgeable or skilled in any way, yet alone the possibility of displaying those traits.

Anyway, let me point out the misunderstanding:

yeah 420 chan had it, but most of the site shown was from 4chan. And of course, naturally, we just attacked this shit out of them for it.

It's WE when "WE" "ATTACK" them.

It's THEM when it's ULTIMATE EVIL. Not only that, but you talk about "playing" them. The tone just smacks of "I'm not one of them, I just hang out with them," or "I'm not a pirate; I just hang out with them because I like rum." Maybe it wasn't intentional, but that doesn't matter much when that's how it reads.

You could have simply said, "Despite what it seems, we have some pretty knowledgeable posters at 4chan, and I've gotten some pretty good discussion going there before: I have two full threads saved for a report on Opinion on Eastern manga growing more popular than Western cartoon, and I've learned more about cars than I should have ever learned. you just took the words out of context. I was agreeing with the phrase ultimate evil, as in "yeah, we kinda are" but then went to go to a different quarter of the subject. "but they can have amazing discussions."

How do I know this? because I was not INVOLVED int the discussion, but watched it, and therefore, I cannot included myself in the phrasing. since I'm standing middle ground, I can use we if I myself was involved or could hold a discussion at their levels, for the most part I'm left on the sideline just  watching it and being awestruck as a talent I couldn't do.

And once again, you concluded that I was ONLY including myself when I was discussing good point, yet AMAZINGLY ramsus, you just contradict yourself by having me SEPARATE myself from a good counter point in which I was trying to show them not as an ultimate evil, but rather as a group with amazing intellect.

That's not saying I'm a pirate only for the rum. That's saying "Yeah, we're all assholes there, but god damn if they're smarter assholes then I am."

I quoted you and added some emphasis for visual cues. They're still your words. If you can't make a proper transition, that's your problem. I'm simply pointing out that you had no right to use we so strongly in the first place. You just lurk and occasionally post. You never attacked anyone.

Also, you're assuming what I mean by good points and bad points is some weird moral definition of good/bad. However, what I suspect that you're subconsciously trying to ride here is the powerful/normal aspect. Being a 4chan member is a good point when it makes you seem powerful, and a bad point when it makes you seem irrelevant. Just look at your usage: when 4chan is a powerful force, it's we and you're a member, and when it's just a bunch of good guys, it's them, and you're just plain old "me."

At least, that's what it seemed like.

no, I'm a member of the site, I've done raids, but I've not done the raids mention because I had no prior knowledge of them. They all occured slightly before I'd join, and I went to go get info on those: the habbo hotel raid was made a couple of years ago, and was done because they were sick of the black habbos looking racist which either afros or a Jamaican look..
They also forgot to include the raid on white supremest hal turner and other actual useful raids. For Another raid that went done was that masked figure, and that was done because He wanted to use anonymous as his personal army, something they don't like, and they raided him. I learned all this stuff as I grew around the site, and the more I sat around it, the more I became a prefecture to it: I wasn't anonymous, because I still type using a name, but I joined them in conversation and a few other raids now and then. That's how I can say they and we: the stuff I have done, I'll include myself, the stuff I haven't is them, and they've done more then I have because I'm still hated and have to thread careful thanks to the fact I wield a name. I'm not a straight member of anonymous, but like the furrotic dude, I'm known and slightly disliked because of the name.

Ah, For a Few Dollars More.

Quote
Curse the dark and evil day that ever I was born
Curse my mother's loving care that made me safe from harm
Curse the day I grew to be a man and learned to love
Curse the love that made me learn to hate all men
Curse the day that I became what I was born to be
Curse all happy men on earth who were not cursed like me

Take an eye for an eye they say
But an eye for an eye won't pay
All that's due
All that's due to a man with nothing left but hate.

Let the sun shine upon the sins of men
Let the sun shine upon my dead long stray
Let the stars go by in the black night sky
It's a world of darkness night and day for me

Curse the day that I was born into the world I know
Curse the day that I became what I was born to be
Curse all happy men on earth who were not cursed like me

Effortlessly truer and better than any emo or most otherwise sad songs uttered!
