I think a whole nother dimension (if a remake goes from 8-Bit to 16-Bit even, that's quite a jump, but 2D to 3D is exceptional...many would say the same for 32 to 128) adds enough to gameplay to equate one more play of "the same game"...But then again, it's not for the people that played the older version (or at least, not just for them)...It's for a whole new market to be exposed to the game/series...Plus, remakes/rereleases can contain extras w/o destroying the original material at all as well, like a new translation, better sound quality, etc...
I wasn't too excited for the 3D CT remakes either...mainly because it was easily confused as to which was which and which was doing what exactly...>_> Plus, add on to that the fact that so few fanmade Chrono games get completed and it was practically a sure thing that hopes were getting set up to get let down...
