did anyone else see the pre-order on bestbuy.com for ff7 on ps3?  do you think it was a typo or did best buy let something slip.

It wasn't a typo, it was due to EGM saying that there was an FFVII remake in the works, in spite of the fact that Square-Enix specifically said they aren't making a remake at the moment.  So basically, EGM's a bunch of morons.

I'd rather see SE do remakes & rereleases on the PSP than on PS3...Or at least for the PSX games (SP and/or GBA can have the older school ones)...FFTactics on the go people! Make it so, Square-Enix! MAKE IT SO!!!

>_>

thats  comedy, best buy had splinter celll double agent listed for release last month, they had the presale cards on the shelves.  square is probably making the remake, but best buy is definitely in the dark.

Square has said no remake. That doesn't quite mean that they're making a remake.

Here's a concept I never understood:

Why would you want to play the same game twice?

What joy would one receive in an updated version of FF7? Hotter Aeris? XD

I think a whole nother dimension (if a remake goes from 8-Bit to 16-Bit even, that's quite a jump, but 2D to 3D is exceptional...many would say the same for 32 to 128) adds enough to gameplay to equate one more play of "the same game"...But then again, it's not for the people that played the older version (or at least, not just for them)...It's for a whole new market to be exposed to the game/series...Plus, remakes/rereleases can contain extras w/o destroying the original material at all as well, like a new translation, better sound quality, etc...

I wasn't too excited for the 3D CT remakes either...mainly because it was easily confused as to which was which and which was doing what exactly...>_> Plus, add on to that the fact that so few fanmade Chrono games get completed and it was practically a sure thing that hopes were getting set up to get let down...
