The Temporal Vortex
« on: February 16, 2004, 12:34:39 am »
In CC theres this place that is a enigma for me and few peoples discuss about it: the Temporal Vertex.
The temporal Vortex is where Linx throw Serge after the battle in the Fort Dragonia and where we get Sprigg.
the game says s it is where tha lost souls wander, the place look to be bidimensional (like the creature called TotalChaos) and the matter is not equal to the common dimensions.
What you guys say about that place?

Lynx (as Dark Serge) only says :
Lynx: Come to the Sea of Eden, Serge... Should you wish to end your dream of 10 years ago...
[the dragon statues are blown up]
Lynx: Now, let love bleed! Darker and deeper than the seas of hell! Heh jeh heh...! HAH HAH HAH HAAAH...!
[You are teleported]
[FMV : Kid at a beach]
[FMV : rising from underwater]

That part about "Now, let love bleed! Darker and deeper than the seas of hell! Heh jeh ".
Did Linx talk about the Dimension vortex? That place could be the actual "hell" in the Chrono World Miths?

I remenber that Van (from Another) says something about  Dopellgangers and great beyond

I just realized I should include the Temporal Vortex in my article, so I'm reviving this thread.

Another question: Who/What is Sprigg? A few pieces of info:

Quote from: Fortune Teller
......! It's been a long time, Lady Sprigg. Have you been well?

Analysis: She's definitely been to Another before, even though the TV only connects to Home (at least, for us).

Quote from: Frozen Flame
This is power I can't make me own...
Hah! There ain't no use telling me to do anythin', chum!
...you don't ave to tell me nothin'!
I know I might've led an easier life if I'da been kinder to otherz...

If we extend the idea that the TV is hell (particularly Fox News), Sprigg might be a demon who tried to live in the normal timeline (probably before the dimensional split), but couldn't because of her evil nature. She may have helped Lynx as an attempt to attone.

There's another thing. Are there other place in CC that we could take the Forget-me-not-Pot beside Chronopolis ?

I ask this because I have a strange Theory about Sprigg be a thief\treasure hunter that tried steal the Frozen Flame and got baned to the Temporal Vertex by F.A.T.E, the same way as Serge.

I'm pretty sure you can take the Forget-me-not Pot anywhere.

Sprigg, Guile, and Sneff all belong to some esoteric, magic guild. Whether we can interpret these as leftovers from the time when Magus was Guile is unknown, but it does mean these guys are in some kind of cahoots.

Any evidence for that, or is that just theorizing?

Anyway, it seems to me that possibly the producers put so many characters in with just a hint of background as inspiration for fanfic writers.

Looking in some FAQs, there is just information about take the "Pot" from a chest in Chronopolis. My point is that the Forget-me-not could have be
a Sprigg's item.

That means that you find it in Chronopolis, but I do see your point, now.

If you take Sneff to Guile, he begins ranting about Guile being the rising star in the guild. Sprigg is supposed to say something as well, but I'm not sure who I need to take to who. I'll try it later.

I just checked on Van. If you bring his alter-ego to see him, he asks if your Van's a doppelganger, and if this means he's going to heaven soon. This probably doesn't have anything to do with Sprigg (she was in my party as I did this BTW), as it references some old folk tale of doppelgangers: they would look just like whoever saw them, and if you saw one you would immediately die.

I just noticed this in my most recent playthrough of DW7: In the Litorud vignette, Baloch defines a "Vortex" as the gap between instants in time. Although I can't find any origin for this use of the term, it lends a little credence to the theory of the Temporal Vortex being the gap between the dimensions.
