On the subject of new team members, I think we have three ways to do it:

1) Let anyone who wants to help join the team.
2) Only let people join who we think will be good team members.
3) Only let people join who fill our vacant positions.

(2) and (3) would naturally require some form of screening process.

So which one should we do? And if not (1), then what's the best screening process?

(1) might not be the best option, because that means anyone can basically join up. And I feel that we shouldn't be letting just anyones into the project. (2) and (3) are definately the best options i think. That way we can see what skills the ppl have and if they could be useful to the project.

The idea of only recruiting ppl that can fill the spaces that we need I suppose is alright, but im not quite sure. Wouldn't the entire project be speeded along if u have more than 1 person in each department? Wait, I have an idea. We can get at least 2 ppl in each of the empty departments, and then anyone else that wants to join the project can then enter any of the departments. Do you undestand what im trying to say? Like, we fill up the most important parts first, then we let ppl in on the other areas.

I agree that it would be best to have multiple people on each team. Indeed, it would be kind of moot to have team leaders and not have a team under them!

The reason I'm having so much trouble with this post is that I'm just not sure what kind of response we're going to get, in terms of both quantity and quality. Especially since we appear to need to draft an audio team leader. At any rate, I will emphasize the need for audio people.

I'll probably make the post tomorrow evening. Let me know if you have any final suggestions about things to include or not include.

Good call on the website stuff. I added it to the list of positions at the top of this thread.

In terms of the script, Specter, if you have any cool ideas about how a scene should go or have ideas for extra or extended scenes, I'd love to hear them. You can either write an abstract or even write a draft of said idea. This, of course, goes for everyone.

As for designating team leaders, here's kind of how I see it:

Script: Luminaire85
Graphics: Specter
Flash: SSJoseph
Audio: ? (Are you interested, Lordchander?)
Website: ? (This is less pressing than audio.)

Maybe by the end of the weekend we can make an announcement in Kajar Laboratories?

Me, the Graphics Team Leader? I'm honored!

Hmm,... extras & extended scenes, eh? I'll have to give it some thought. I should be able to come up with something useable, hopefully.

Best screening process I can think of would be for potential applicants to submit a "portfolio" of their talent(s) for review by the team leader. When I say "portfolio", I basically mean two or three pieces of art/spriting/voice-acting/Flash/etc. (or as many as they're willing to send our way, with two being the minimum). The team leader can then review the applicant's stuff and make a call one way or the other.

And here's an idea that occured to me: for the robotic personas in CT (Robo, Atropos, Mother Brain, etc...) why not record audio for them using Speakonia?

EDIT: My brother, "Geno", has tentatively agreed to do some voice acting work for the CT Flash project. He's really, really good at modifying his voice and does improv comedy on the side, so I think he could be a great help for a lot of the minor characters and NPCs. I'll try to get a good sample from him ASAP... but lets just say that he was in a local comedy show recently where he played ALL the characters in his scene by jumping to different sides of the stage and using assorted character voices.

Well, I made the post in Kajar (post #100 for me, too :)). So far no luck, but we'll give it a little time.

Obviously we don't have to force extra scenes into the script. I'm hoping they will come more or less naturally as we go. Here's an example of a few extra scenes I'm going to suggest:

- As Crono, Lucca, and Frog escort Queen Leene and the Chancellor to the castle, Frog explains to Crono why he's leaving the knighthood.
- Between Crono's arrest and the trial, Marle visits the holding cell where Crono is being kept.

I don't know about synthesized voices, even for robots. I was imagining more along the lines of Sonny (in I, Robot) or Data, an emotionless voice but still from a voice actor. This is open for debate, of course.

Hopefully "Geno" will be able to submit his sample to our new audio team leader soon!

 I'm freeeeee!

Had my last final of the semester tonight. No more classes for three full weeks!

Anyway, this is the time I was hoping to be able to be admitting new members to the team. Unfortunately I've gotten less than a lukewarm reply from the Compendium forumers so far. Maybe we'll get a few more tonight; if not we may have to try something else. Any suggestions on that regard?

Perhaps ZeaLitY would be willing to make a news post on the main page for us.

What I meant was posting our search for a crew on the main Compendium page rather than just in the forums. That way we hit the people who check the Compendium but don't check the forums. I can see where I was a little unclear though.

You're right, though. We're not very far yet. :(

Yes, I think it would have been a better idea to get in the news in the first place. Coz that way more ppl check that then the ppl who check in the labs see?

And its nearly good that we're not too far into it, so that way new members dont have to try and work out what to do, its almost like a fresh canvas for everyone? Do you understand what im saying?
