Hi, this summary here will probably help you.

http://www.chronocompendium.com/wiki/index.php?title=Chrono_Cross_Condensed_Plot_Summary

It's a bit long at first glance, but it's as condensed, while still complete, as possible. Just read and then ask if you still have questions.

Don't criticize the guy for asking a simple question. You look like the "n00b" for calling him/her one.

Your being annoying and have 15+ posts. He's defending someone for being wrongly accused of n00bity and has 1,000+ posts.Sorry, but you look like the n00b from where I'm standing.

BTW the story of CC is very,... er,... in-depth. I found it difficult to understand for awhile too. I think Chrono Trigger was better.

Exctally why most people vote for CT being better than CC out of pure stupidity since they don't understand CC because they don't think it over, and CT is just simple so they go for it >.>

The fact that CC's story is complex i think lures me towards its story. I still find it amazing how Square managed to actually compile the story together.

Really, when it comes down to it, both games have great storylines.

Chrono Trigger had a good plot... at first in Chrono Cross you feel more tossed in without any idea...  Chrono Trigger evens out confusion faster...
I am only at the beginning of Chrono Cross (finished facing ghost ship) so I really cannot say much yet...

It's not just 'the plot if complex'. People think 'The plot is full of plotholes and bullshit', add seven typos. Also: 'whre is megus?! LOL'

So WHAT if it's not about the original cast, the world doesn't revolve around seven people!

Agreed. My personal thought is that if they were to continue the series reusing the original cast, it would cheapen/cheese up their CT exploits. How they portrayed the characters as legend-esque characters in CC was, in my opinion, the best way to have the sequel.

About initial plot confusion...I don't know if I'd say you get "tossed in" haphazardly. Of course, one would be confused as to what the heck Lynx/Harle are referring to in the beginning, but to me it cleared up pretty quickly. Once it did, the plot to me was no more difficult to understand than CT's.

How did Square manage to compile such a deep and complex storyline? A genius: Masato Kato.

Heck, if Lucca wasn't an NPC in CC, i'd hate her. I love her so much now because she was involved with FATE, not to mention an orphanage and raising Kid, making a time egg etc. That in my opinion makes her memorable. If Lucca was playable in 1020AD, that'd suck so much.

Thank god Crono wasn't really that involved in CC. He sucks so bad, and his groupie gf Marle.

Lucca/Robo/Magus and Frog were the only really deep characters of CC. Ayla was almost comic relief. Not really sure about Marle. Her situation didn't go deep enough. Except that she didn't like being a princess, and had troubles with her father.

Magus wasn't that deep... 'Oh, mommy was a meanie to sissy and summoned big porcupine and killed sissy. Until they made a sequel. Now I become Demi-Human ruler and pwnzer Lavos!'

Glenn's tale was more tragic and heroic, even if he was a whiner. Robo's story was actually okay, but only Asimov did the 'Robots take over the future' gig... Mother Brain was stupid.

Not to say I hate Chrono Trigger. I just hate the cast. I have respect for Frog and Magus. They're all just over emotional in their responses, and never stop to think. Ayla had no real importance to the plot, just game wise you needed someone strong who you didn't have to fork over an X amount of money to buy weapons for.

I kind of respected Crono and Marle's relationship, but not much more. I really hate them both, just respect their relationship.

Lucca was too goofy to be taken seriously, but CC did manage to do her a bit of justice.

I'd respect Crono more if he spoke. Like, I hate the whole "Silent Protagonist" thing. It annoys me because Crono never really explains anything he does, and there is no real background story to him. Its kinda like in a New Game its "woah and here is Crono! Now go off to some wild fair!". When I first played CT I was thinking: Who  the heck is this Crono? And stuff along the lines of those sorta questions.

Glenn's story was your typical "ah dammit, the big bad wizard killed my mentor! Now im gonna go kill him and tell him what it means to mess with a bloody frog!" Now I like those type of stories very much. It means lots of action and magic!

Ayla was useless in the storyline to the point that the game would function perfectly without her. She was, like Legend said, only good for wiping out enemies.

I didn't think Robo's story was too deep. It was just a tad emotional when they first meet him and when he leaves at the end. Nothing too fancy here. But he did help in CC with the lovel Prometheus Lock.
