Chrono Break Trademark Abandoned

Friday January 9, 2004, Chris Winkler annonced on RPGFan that SquareEnix had abandoned the trademark name 'Chrono Break' in the United States, though retained its 'Chrono Brake' trademark in Japan.

What does this portend, as Melchior might say? Perhaps SquareEnix has limited release of the game to Japan due to the less-than-monumental profit of Chrono Cross? It would thus meet the fate of several other excellent RPGs that have been released in Japan only. We may be spending some time learning the language, if this is the case.
