Oh right...Man, I'm stupid...He's been in all of 'em...>_>

That just goes to show how much I played as the guys...*heh* I knew he looked cool some of his costume edits, but I must have never connected anything...That's 1 for DOA and 0 for my brain...>_>

Damn you, don't be a jacking my thread!  :(

I can't wait for tournaments to start up, I am alot better with Xianghua. Like ultimate cheesy as hell good, where you get pissed because I am such a cheesy bastard. My second character is up between Talim and Yun-seoung, I am about the same playing level for each of them.

What the hell?! I edited, yet it double posted?!
Namco are stupid. The XBOX and GCN versions sold the more then PS2's yet, they made it exclusive.

Perhaps the sales figures didn't constitute a multi-platform...It takes more monies to do that, y'know...

My thinking behind why they kept it on PS2:

1. Xbox is releasing the 360 this month, it would be retarded to have it on the regular Xbox with a month of sales before the 360 comes out. And it maight not even work on the 360, since they won't be fully reverse compatible.

2. The 360 is an iffy system. More people but Sony than Microsoft, so it is more likely that they will have less sales going with Microsoft than Sony. Also there are the many qualms with it being a launch game, because of the DOA series.

3. Even though the Gamecube had the highest sales of the systems the majority of those sales were because of Link being a character. Without Link, I bet they would have lost half of thier profits.

4. So by process of elimination, it falls on Sony. While it is the oldest system, it is still the most popular. Even with the crappy control layout, people continue to buy it. And plus, every tournament I ever went to used PS2's as the machines that ran them.

I'm a 2d fighting man myself (Primarily Guitly Gear XX #Reload) and the PS2 is certainly the best of the 3 stock controllers for 2d fighters, but that doesn't make it great. I have one of the Capcom anniversary controllers for playing Street Fighter games, because it has 6 face buttons. Very helpful for 6 button games.

You mean the arcade stick with the street fighter artwork with ALL the characters. SWEET! It looks like a beaut. But the Dpad on ps2 is easily accessed, and the dpad is neccessary for diaganol moves.

No, no. I have the Anniversary PAD. Just one character per controller. I have the Akuma one, because they hadn't yet announced the Sagat one when I got it. Diagonal moves can be performed on a stick, no problem. These games are designed for stick, after all. Even if you've got a 4 way stick, if you hit both sensors (diagonally) that's how it registers. The PS2 pad is a 4 way pad, after all. In fact, you could get an 8 way pad (Perfect 360s, I believe they are called) and then have an actual diagonal sensor.

I'm weird, I always play fighters w/the Dpad even if I'm used to playing them w/the joy stick at the arcades...I've never had a problem w/the Sony Dpad, but I've had all sorts of problems w/the XBOX's hunk o' junk...especially those retarded black & white buttons, which, with whatever version of the controller (Large As My Nuts Version and the Just Large Version)...And I won't even dignify Nintendo's clunky controller of doom.

When I first tried Soul Caliber II, I thought I was just bad at pulling off combos because of the fact that I owned the GC version with it's moon octopus controller and all. Now, after playing the other versions, it's clear: I just suck.

Any people complaining about being bad at the game (not saying any of you here are) because of the GC controller...you're probably still bad on a different system, like me >_>.

I tried SCII on gc too, and i used link to throw of my friends and they got mad after doing this quiet often :D man this was funny.
I think the GC Controller is ok, or i just learnd to handle it. I could never imagine playing Super smash brother melee(yay!) or metroid prime(w00t!) with a x-box or ps2 pad...

The Gamecube controller is just as bad as the PS2 controller. You can not access all 4 buttons in a comforatable position, which is needed to pull of certain manuevers. The best is to have an arcade stick.

I love the GCN controller, the only button I have issues with is the Z button. Not convenient at all. I love the PS controllers. I hate the "large-as-my-nuts" XBox controllers, but the "just large" ones are...alright.

Nice term coinage, V_T ^_^

The controller itself is great, but not suited for Soul Calibur at all.
