And I'll say it again: beaver, beaver, beaver, beaver. We have it on our 5c coins, for goodness sakes!

And you have hockey on your 5 dollar bill. That was one of the more amusing realizations on my last trip to Canada.

The poem, in both English and French, romanticizing what is esentially a bloodsport really made me happy. Not happy enough to make me not trade it in for Aero bars, mind you, but I can't get those in the States.

Yeah, hockey can be pretty violent - I think the poem spoke more of shinny hockey, just people going out on a rink and playing non-competatively, though, rather than actual NHL hockey. They tried to cut down on most of the fighting, but people didn't like it. It's still not as bad in that regards as football, I don't think. That, and it's the one sport I have any interest at all in.

Wait... they don't have Aero bars in the States?!

No. And our sodas use high fructose corn syrup instead of actual sugar. It really does make quite the difference. Which is why, in addition to a box of aero bars, I brought down 6 liters of Canadian Coke. Oy. I suddenly don't feel bad about not drinking soda anymore.

Ah. I guess you do call them 'sodas', don't you? I always just say 'pop'.

That's the subject of a massive culture war in the States. There are three camps: Soda, Pop, and Coke. Coke is mostly used in the south, particularly Texas, from what I'm told. Several of the costal states, and those around them use Soda, and most of middle America uses Pop. Washington state uses pop, and after 3 years up here, I'm still not used to it.

Amen. I use soda, because coke isn't specific and pop sounds retarded.

Oh, what are you talking about? They both sound retarded...

With Soda I always think..."Mister, my sodee herts my teef."

Pop...just...no...

I'll say soda only on the strictest of circumstances...Like Orange Soda. You can't call it Orange Soft Drink...and Orange Pop is, well...just...no...as I stated...And Orange Coke just doesn't make sense of course...

And honestly, why do people drink colas? I mean, besides mixing awesome w/Jack (and I prefer a straight Jack on the rocks over Jack & Coke myself), it sucks ass...I once left a cola & an orange soda out for a few months...The cola formed a disgusting half-inch think film of disgustingness while the orange soda was pure and drinkable (well it looked alright...not that I risked it or anything >_>).

Dragoness, looking again at your Chrono Cross couple pairings...

...Norris and Janice?

The dutiful solder-man from Porre, and the furry woman with big hands who likes to play with monsters?

Where did THAT come from?!

Don't give in, man! It's soda, and anyone who doesn't like it can go boil their potatoes! Seattle's okay about it, but rural Washington is in terrible need of a proper enlightenment.

May I direct your attention to...Exhibit A!!

I am just as equally disturbed at "Karsh and Razzly." Um, an Acacian Dragoon with a 3ft tall fairy!? Oh god...it burns!
