They fought for the same reasons that people fight in real life, because they believed that the other side was inferior to them, and they wanted to let them know by killing them.  Just like present day wars.  That's probably why Mystics and Reptites hate humans,  because they at one point in time thought that they were superior, and after Lavos crashed, this wasn't the case, humans became dominant, and eventually stole land from Mystics (cathedrals) and it ticked 'em off, then they got their asses kick in the Mystic war. So basically they just wanted to blow off some steam, and some of them wanted to be killed by a luminaire or antipode 3. Nothing wrong with that, right?

Is it possible that the Reptites had some religious agression agianst humans?  As stated by others, the Reptites were relativly advanced, and the Humans didn't seem savage and particularly bloodthristy, so I can't help but think the Reptites were the ones starting the hostilities.

Hmm...if that is the case (which probably is, as it makes the most sense), then it seems like the Reptites have truly overestimated their superiority over humans. With all their talk of extreme dislike of everything, "human," they can sure act like them. Spilling blood in the name of a religion, like a zealous devotion to the planet...

It could have to do w/the Hunting Ground & the Dactyl Nest...Both are very close to each other, don't you think? Maybe the Reptites didn't like them doing all that killing or something...Or maybe it has to do w/how the humans have the Dactyls at all...I mean, wtf is up w/that? How'd they get that? I smell prequal!

Yeah, now that you mention it, wtf is up with humans having dactyls on their side, i mean, they are dinosaurs (reptites), and they technically should hate eachother, right?

I think that maybe the developers just wanted to show that no matter where you go or what time period you may be in, there will always be fighting, kinda like in the movie the Village.

Or they trained the Dactyls, or they stole the dactyls from the Reptites and trained them.

Humans don't have dactyls on their side, only the Laruban people can ride dactyls. The exception is Ayla from Ioka, who asked the Laruba Chief the permission to ride dactyls and for some reason this was enough for her to be able to ride them (or maybe the Chief gave her an item or some device).

Its not like the Dactyls are inteligent beings.  So they were domesticated.  Big deal.  Its not like those were the only 3.  Plus, about the hunting grounds, its not like the Humans over hunted it.  It's impossible to over hunt that place, they keep coming back!

That's what people said before almost every overhunted extinct animal became extinct. >_> Plus, you're talking game mechanics...

Ayla: Want to live, so go there! Ayla be ok. Give Dactyl!
Old Man (Laruban Chief): ...Ok. Go to Dactyl's nest and keeper will help. Careful, Ayla!
Ayla: Thank you Old man!

Now, who or where this "keeper" is is a mystery (probably lost somewhere in the sands of Woosley, never to be discovered until Sky Render & RPGOne hurries the hell up w/DQ3)...

Point?  Chrono's universe is obviously different than our own, and nothing implies that there arn't infiniate animals that spawn due to rain.

But due to the fact that most of the post in the forum relate CT universe to our own, it is safe to assume it is. And there is no evidence in the game that there is an infinite respawning law. And plus if animals always respawned, then why dont we see more random animal bosses like those in the Earthbound caves?

There is in game evidence that there is an infinite respawn law that rules the Hunting Grounds.  When it rains, enemies respawn.  Try it out.  It goes on forever.  Its programmed that way.  You can't win this little arguement...
