I plan to compose poetry and work out while listening to this. It looks like an odd lineup, compared to most mainstream music; my last few CDs have had various VGremixes on them as well as music from F-Zero GX.

Have you burned any CDRs lately?

I must say, BWA HAH!!!

(To those of you who think I should not make fun of his misfortune, keep in mind that while he's waiting to gain access to his own computer, Drumguy will be using mine on occasion.)

Must stop attempting to type while drunk...it doesn't work very well.

back when i had to burn CDRs i had mainly amine music too.
infact, i think that if i took out all the megadeth songs on my phone i would still have only anime songs, and game songs.

Gundam seed destany opening and closing
kingdom hearts 2 - final battle
FF6 - dancing mad
Sonic Adventure - various
those are some. also

/Thread Necromance.

Last CD I burned was...

How You Remind Me - Nickelback
Wasting My Time - Default
Wherever You'll Go - The Calling
Eulogy - Tool
Killing in the Name of - Rage Against the Machine
Lateralus - Tool
Woman* - Wolfmother
Schism - Tool
Devil Went Down to Georgia - Charlie Daniels Band
Sober - Tool
Devil Went Down to Georgia (Metal Cover) - Steve Ouimette

*Somehow, during the burn, my disc hiccuped and this song was cut off around a minute or so, which sucks balls.

Yeah, I used that ancient one as a workout disc too, thus the Mortal Kombat stuff. I still put VG remixes and originals on CDRs, even with the advent of iPod. Crisis Core has a big presence on my latest one.

I know, isn't the new OWA fantastic?

I just got a car with a cd changer, so I'm now having to come up with a mix that spans 6 disks. It is a good problem to have  :D

Hah, quite a problem indeed. 6 discs; wow.

Crisis Core has a big presence on my latest one.

I know, isn't the new OWA fantastic?

Hell freaking yes. It's Kenpachi-level fantastic, and I'm in love with most of the soundtrack.

* The Mako City - It's a throwaway theme, but it captures the casual feel of Midgar easily. Imagine sitting in the swank Shinra tower lobby.
* Wandering on a Sunny Afternoon - Wow, take off down the road! I don't like where the song ultimately ends up, but I can so imagine an adventure taking place to this song.
* The Summoned (Those Who Fight Further) - Awesome, awesome remix of TWFF. The song does that cool build-up and then just BLASTS OUT! Yet later, in somehow resumes that build-up sound on a new tier of tension (I guess that'd be the song's bridge).
* The Clandestine - Bah, it doesn't go the whole way. But it's a very sleek Turk theme, which has been mis-remixed by fans for a long time now.
* Aeris's Theme - I like the instrumentation. But for some reason, after I listen to this, I absolutely have to hear...
* A Beating Black Wing - Damn, this picks itself up off the ground and dusts! It sounds like a Sephiroth rampage from inside-out! And I love the part at 2:14.
* March on the Frontier - Compare to the emperor's marching tune from Final Fantasy 6. Last Order sort of sucked in the music department, though.
* The Mako-Controlling Organization - I love the Shinra theme. This is a decent remix, but it sounds a little less powerful than its FF7 counterpart.
* A Closed Off Village - Yes, this is an Ancient Heart remix done right! The romantic, ethereal tension is there, along with the mystique of the softly ringing melody...
* An Ancient Hymn - Good tension theme.
* SOLDIER Battle - What the hell is with that intro? It's like hearing a damn fight theme and yielding to it! This thing is so hard it's ridiculous. SOLDIER are the best of the best, and this theme seems to ask, what if two SOLDIERS fought it out? The result is a theme harder than most.
* Howl of the Gathered - What a fast, fleeting combat theme.
* One-Winged Angel - I adore what they did here. The introduction worked well for the cut scene in which Sephiroth amazingly bursts through the cannon's falling component by slashing his way through and proceeding to back Genesis up against a wall with the Masamune (metaphorically). Something different happens in each segment of this song; it never grows stale. The lines "Sors immanis - et inanis" seem to convey this fear and hatred towards fate, and follow with a great transition back into the main verse. That little triangle carries its weight. The part starting in the 1:40s is cool, although I sort of do miss that usual part after the verses. And what can I say about the ending? I expect the song to restart, and WHAT THE CHRIST, ITS THE OPENING! SEPHIROTH! AND ITS GROWING AND GROWING AND THE FIERCE SELF-WILL OF SEPHIROTH DEFIES DESTINY AND EXACTS ITS DREAM UPON THE WORLD! Whoa, there's such power[/i] in those closing notes! It was totally unexpected and it really blew my mind!

Hail to the most charismatic villain of them all!

There's more Crisis Core OST I have yet to really dig in to, so that's by no means a final list.

If we include MP3 playlists...

1) Fly - Blind Guardian
2) Another, Stranger, Me - Blind Guardian
3) Precious Jerusalem - Blind Guardian
4) Soulforged - Blind Guardian
5) Mies del Dolor - Blind Guardian
6) Time Stands Still (at the Iron Hill) - Blind Guardian
7) Torn - Natalie Imbruglia
8 ) Leave Me Alove - Natalie Imbruglia
9) Smoke - Imbruglia
10) Pancreas - Weird Al
11) Weasel Stomping Day - Weird Al
12) Hardware Store - Weird Al
13) Angry White Boy Polka - Weird Al

... What? I don't have eclectic tastes at all!

It's good stuff. Any reason why you went with Mies del Dolor of all the versions of that song, btw?

Yup. The reason is that Mies del Dolor is the version of the song that was released on the North American "A Night at the Opera," which I own. I have a few CDs that contain the English version (Harvest of Sorrow), but those are all live performances and I just tend to prefer non-live. Besides, Mies del Delor doesn't sound so dorky ;)
