I remember years and years ago (I'm talking ~2000ad) someone wrote a Chrono Trigger screenplay. They essentially made Robo and Ayla (and maybe Frog?) non-party members, only briefly helping the core trio of Crono, Marle, and Lucca.

Now that I think of it, they may also completely skipped over Prehistory and made Ayla a non-character in plot consolidation.

I think that's the story side of Chrono Symphonic.

Yeah, prehistory got cut entirely. In fact, a lot of story got skipped and replaced/merged with other parts of the story, like the first trip to 600 A.D (replaced with a trip to the ruined future).

That's an unusual decision to make, considering that's when Lavos arrived to the planet and all that.

Use the same solution as the Zelda cartoon.

Crono, after bumping into Marle at the fair: Well excuuuuuuuse me, princess.
