Dorino Field (bug ?)
« on: July 18, 2019, 07:58:38 am »
Hi everyone !

I'm currently playing Chrono Trigger Crimson Echoes but it seems I have a big problem in Dorino Field.

I checked a walkthrough on Youtube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L_8G26MBVM&list=PLyp7iZHUOFDhA92DC8_HxZi2_W5R0I3l0&index=8

But it's not possible for me to use the exit after the battle against Kasnir.

Can you help me please ?

You can either download flames of eternity rc7 which is the plagiarized version of this but more complete or you can open it up in temporal flux and fix it.

Temporal flux is super easy to use and once you know how you can edit almost anything in Chrono trigger or any of its hacks.

If you choose the second option lemme know and I'll walk you through it.

If I understand, I can pass the exit with an edition in my save data with "Temporal Flux".

So, yes, I'd like to try this option. Thanks. :)

Not your save data, editing the actual rom.

here is a link to temporal flux  https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/262/

Open your Crimson Echoes rom in that then find your location you want to edit from the drop down menu in the top left.

Once you're that far I'll give you further instructions

I guess I'm currently in the cave we can found in the red cercle and I should go to the purple one but I have no idea how to show you this cave with Temporal Flux.

Thanks for your help.

Good you're on right track, I see you have a locations tab open, that's where you'll find your map. Go through the locations one by one till you find it (it's probably got the wrong name since this is a rom hack)

Once you find it it's only one of two things that could be wrong. Either there's no exit or it's got a bad tile blocking the exit.

Once you've found your location you see the "Exits" on the left bar, when you click that red boxes will come up on the screen to mark the exits, tell me if there's a red box in the right spot when you do.

Map found. It's "031 Heckran Cave Underground River".

Here's, in the red circle, there's exit I can't use.

There, it's the "Exits" menu on my left bar.

There's a spot. What's the next step please ?

Good, I see the spot has an exit, figure out which one it is, it's probably on a solid tile that wont let you pass.

The two options are A: move it down one notch or B: the proper way click "map" at the top go to explicit paste and click "properties" then right click in any area where your character is able to walk (this will copy a walkable tile) then left click on both squares inside the exit.

If that doesn't work send me a copy of your rom by private message and I'll take a look.

So I took a look and the exit is fine and so is the solidity, sadly  this one is out of my hands.

Unless youre loading a save state, if you fixed it but you loaded a save state you'll have to exit using the normal way and go back in.

At last, I'm finally outside the cave. The solution was editing AND your last tip.

Thanks again. :)

Awesome, and now you know how to use temporal flux to edit the game as well.

Only to edit the area of a warp point. Maybe one day I'll use it to create chest with items. :P
