Did I miss out on Lucca's Orphanage?

I've defeated FATE and inmediately go to do the Starky's ship quest.

Now, Kid is not in Hermit's Hideaway and I have no idea why...

Can anyone help me to figure out what i've missed?

Was she there before you went to Starky's ship? I looked up on the matter and it seems you're not the only one who has had this happen. All who say the same also mention they never allowed Kid to join the party. Maybe that's a factor...
