What is it about the pendant that makes a gate open for the first time in millenial fair? How come it can open all of the sealed doors and stuff? Sorry if they point this out in the game, I can't remember it if they do.

how it opened the gate is debatable (spelt wrong i know), how it opens the doors, werent they locked with, how to put this, the pendants power, so when marle's pendant (which is schala's just a lot older and lost the power it had when schala used it) is charged up through the mammon machine, it can now unlock the doors. if you understand what im getting at.

It allows the first gate to be opened in conjunction w/Lucca's Telepod, with which she later creates the Gate Key, which, in conjunction w/the Pendant, allows the user to open all of the gates...

P.S. MAGIC!!! :P

ok, but that still doesn't tell me HOW the pendant reacts with the telepod to create a gate.. does it have to do with, the pendant being schala's and being connected to the mammon machine, and therefore somewhat Lavos... is part of lavos or lavos's power inside of the pendant, allowing the pendant to have some kind of intereference with the telepod and creating a gate? Since lavos IS able to create time gates, I mean.

I think it's easier to think of the Pendant as being made of Dreamstone, which, while it does seem to harness Lavos' power, comes from the planet, which Lavos is draining for power, yes (oh that loverly circular power struggle!)? The Entity too has the power to create gates...but it seems as though it still needs the Pendant and the Telepod/Gate Key to actually open them...

The pendant is infused with lavos's energy, which admitedly is the planets energy, but it is likely it would be... A tocuh diferent, i mean to say, its been through lavos, which must of had an effect on it. And yeah the reason it is able to infuse lavos's energy into itself is because of the dreamstone.

(Now lets read through this all again and put in capital letters to plase Dewey.)

I think it can harness energy because Melchior made it so it can harness energy. Like a vacuum cleaner can clean because it was made so. It's a Pendent because it was made so Schala could always be it. It could just as easily of been a ring, an earring or even a bra. Belthasar just made something Schala would look best wearing.

On a similar note, how come the stone on the Pendnet (In the FMV's, that is) is green if the Dreamstone is red?

Are you talking about the short clip with Marle's pendant in 600 A.D.?   Well, Marle's pendant is a kind of turquoise in the game anyway... and in the fmv its an off-green, so close to turquoise.. Plus maybe the fact that it's reacting?  Baby-Kid's pendant is also the same blue.

Yeah...  I think Dreamstone ends up as various colors when it's been processed and refined, but the raw stone mineral is red.  The Mammon Machine looks kind gold, and sometimes silver...  The Masamune looks white/pale blue...  The pendant usually looks blue...

And Legend, that would have been interesting, as you said, if it had been a bra! :P

*Marle steps onto the Telepod*

Marle: What?  My bra...it's...

*Marle disappears, leaving her bra behind.  Crono grabs the bra and goes after her...for more reasons than one* :P

Better yet.

Zeal Palace, in front of the Throne Room. Party consists of Crono, Marle and Frog.

Schala: "Mother's calling..."

Schala presses her chest against the door, bra reacts, door opens, Schala comes in, door closes. Crono and Frog watch in awe and lust.

Crono: "You next, Marle." ~Grin~

Chancellor: Let the court know that Crono is a pervert, and was more interested in the Princess's bra than her safety.

Crono: >_>;; Crap.

Lawyer: >_>;; Crap.

~~

Melchior: Hey, that's a nice bra. Mind selling it to me?

Crono: NO!!! *strokes the precious*

Marle: o.o;;;
~~

Marle: Ok Crono, the door's open now. You can let go of my bra.
... Crono?
~~
You also have to think about how flimsy of a bra it must be if it snaps off and flies in the other direction each time she time travels or gets bumped into at a fair.

Maybe crono has that suave ability to flick bras off with one reach...or bump (he does run into her   )
