Dragon's tear connection

I haven't read any posts related to the dragon's tear connection between CT and CC.  I've played both games over and over and just realized it appears in both games.  CT from the Lost Sanctum and CC in Guldove.  Curious if the reptiles in CT are the Dragonians and this is how the mortals came to have the Dragon Tear (gifted for defeating the monsters in CT).

This was discussed years ago when CTDS came out. Did you look through the DS Analysis forum?
CT's Dragon's Tear is actually a Dragon Earring. Also, its name uses the loanword doragon rather than a kanji as in CC's Dragon Tear. The only possible link might be in the description of CT's Dragon's Tear (it says it's made from a dragon's tear).
