Gosh, what's so hard to understand? Lynx  or men under his command came and drowned Serge. They then took his body and buried him in Cape Howl. He came from the sea, Wazuki being a fishermen, he came to Marge from the sea. Therefore, Serge came from the sea. He returned to the sea, he friggin drowned.

??? What do mean no one knows how he died, serge drowned its said heaps of times in the game its just never said who drowned him i think, that or its implied that Wazuki drowned him
sorry im going of memory here

and the line "what came from the sea has returned to the sea" i believe means since the people there talk about how all life came from the sea or somthing basicaly the line means
"life which has come from the sea has returned to the sea" and i mean life in general

hope that cleared up some confusion

i agree with that, the statement on the grave has nothing to do with serges life, its just the philosophy that all life comes from the sea and goes back to the sea, which the old man/lady said.
