Of course; it's not like I want to spend 50 hours playing through the game. I care about the plot more than game mechanics, and back then I wanted to get through the games as fast as possible.

Oh, well. It's nice to know someone who's considered to be one of the best Chrono theorists never beat the game fairly. {:

Yeah, as if time-travelling to change the future is fair. To Lavos, it was decidedly un-fair.

Oh, poor thing.

I know. Have none of you pity on him?

No.

All it needed was love. All it asked from us was some R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

Egg, they said Zeality never beat the game without cheat codes.  That doesn't mean he has never played the game!

And actually, the only time I beat it without cheat codes was when I rented it way back when.  It had already been beaten, so I fired up a New Game +. ;)  Afterwards, on emulators though, I ended up using cheats.

The first time I ever played CT was without cheat codes! I cant believe it personally. I beat Lavos at Lv. 55 or something. Then, on New Game+ and every other new game ive done, its all done with cheats!

I don't understand the need for cheats on this, oh so easy game. I mean, mods are cool. Sprite hacks even...but cheats? Why bother?

That thread is like running through a meadow of dandelions in comparison to some of the stuff I have seen that was directed at ZeaLity. And I have only been at OCR for a year, I got to miss out on all the really crazy stuff.

Not everyone has all the time on the world to play a 20+ hour RPG (50 is streching it a bit :p ). He obviously has a firm grasp on the series and knows more than most people who have played it countless times. All I really want to know is what cheats did you use, cause like V_T said Trigger is a frightfully easy game, and thats WITH active mode on.

I agree. Why bother cheating when all you have to do is (on an emulator) save state every turn during battles and reload the state if it didn't play out like you wished?

I beat the game about 30 different times, got every ending, found every secret, all on the original SNES, before there were SNES emulators, and without cheating in any way.

I feel like such a relic. >_<

Maybe I'm wrong, but weren't there SNES emulators in '95?

There probably were. I never touched (or even knew how to work) a computer untill 2001.
I should have rephrased it to say "Before I knew of emulators".

Having already been a seasoned internet user in 1995, I'm fairly certain that there were no decently-working SNES emulators until 1997 or thereabouts.
