Queen Leene "easter egg"
« on: August 25, 2013, 02:11:29 am »
One time I stumbled across a webpage that showed pictures of Chrono Trigger Easter Eggs, glitches, and development screen shots.

One of them had a picture of an area you could not access in the era of Zeal. The invisible block had, when lifted, a picture of Queen Leene, or a Queen. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Can someone show me a picture of the room this was in? Or can someone tell me which room this was in? It was in the B.C. era of the floating kingdoms.

Hm, interesting. Do you remember which website you found it in...?

Doesn't seem to be any mention of it at The Cutting Room Floor.

Maybe you're thinking of one of those websites which shows screenshots of areas with BG layers disabled in emulators. Disabling layers reveals hidden sprites which are used for various interactions. Their existence can look rather odd to people who don't know what they're for. Hidden Queen Leenes in Zeal are used to transition the party to the next location when you come in contact with them.

I did a search just now and found this page at Videogame Oddities.

Ah, so that's why. I did encountered a forum thread somewhere else talking about those sprites with that purpose. So that's why...
