Polling / Toughest enemy in the game? (1st encounter)
« on: November 27, 2005, 05:01:14 pm »
I'm saying Mother Brain and Zeal (when she's the face and hands). Mother Brain kept confusing Ayla, in which Ayla seemed to always kill Frog, then Robo.

Zeal in her final form was hard as hell. She kept killing off Crono, and so I beat her with only Ayla and Frog, barely.

A Naga-ette is basiclly a lamia in looks. So it's a lamia, with a weird name. At least to me, anyways.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Chrono Cross Magic System

Don't forget that the slot system is pretty similar to FF VII's...The element system wasn't really what made Chrono Cross's battle system unique; it was more the 3 levels of attacks, stamina and magic level, being able to fight essentially until everybody's at zero (with some interjections of monster techniques, of course)etc.

Quoted for truth.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Magus vs Lynx

Lets see.

Lynx: Forever Zero, some other techs, scythe, and elements.
Magus:His spells, and a scythe.

I would say Magus. Because his spells can do over a thousand damage and he could use items. Lynx on the other hand would have to rely on elements to keep him alive. But elements can only be used once, which limits his full power.

Yeah, Lynx can't use items. He also suffer load times whereas Magus can begin the battle immediately. Lynx has more buttons on his PSX paddle though. It all depends whether they use their Game Shark or not.

Agreed.

History, Locations, and Artifacts / The face in Terra Tower

I thought it was just the Lunar Dragon using the tower to give their message over. They sure despise the humans, that could easily be their message, that or Terra Tower itself is a living organism and that was it's incarnation (Well, it does transform after the Lunar Dragon is defeated).

That does make sense. I never thought of it that way.

My party was: Crono, Frog, and Ayla. Crono kept using Luminaire,X-Strike with Frog, Falcon hit with Ayla, and 3-D attack as a group. Frog was the healer along with Ayla using Slurp Kiss, but an attacker along with Ayla using Drop Kick (which did more than 3-D attack!).

But in Cross I used Serge, Kid, and Gleen.

Polling / 11/19/05 - What'd most important for Chrono Break?
« on: November 12, 2005, 06:07:13 pm »
Man, this is hard for me to decide, but I'll choose a plot as deep as Chrono Cross, but as well directed as Chrono Trigger. Second would be characters, then Mitsuada's music.

Story comes first in my book. CT story was fun and exciting, while CC story was deep and a mysterious until the end (well, to me at least.).

I'll choose judge. Some characters you like, others you don't. And the role they play in the game changes their trust in the player. Finding out the Dragons lied, and never being told be the prophet (aka Belthasar) really changed my opinion about what the hell was going on in Chrono Cross. So again, some people in CC you can trust, others you can't. They're like real people.

So here's my thing: it can still do the same thing to the world in this form, without the shell being dead? With the shell dead, making it rather useless, wouldn't Lavos have to crawl out and do its damage in another way, changing the way the world is destroyed?

All of Lavos's power is in the core body.  The shell is just a protective covering.  When the travelers defeated the shell, they commented that Lavos's energy still radiated from inside.

Yeah, they do. Even when you crash in. I can't remember exactly, but Ayla says something like: "Lavos smell STRONGER!".
