Characters, Plot, and Themes / Chrono Trigger: Queen Leene Kidnapped

u can put it this way: time travelers that travel with the entity's permission, and that would include any1 who time travels through the entity's gates is at the i dun remember what conservation theorem, u could say the entity's gates are "natural". now who goes through "unnatural gates" (gates that have been created by some other thing that's not the entity, aka Magus's one at his castle, Lavos's one at the ocean palace, Time Crash one and stuff) isn't bound to the theorem mentioned before... maybe this theorem would be a "rule" imposed to time travelers by the entity, so where the entity doesn't have power (aka gates created by other things) its "rule" doesn't apply...

any facts that'd make it not possible? o.o can't remember none XD but there may be...

shewsh another little thaught following my reverie about the tesseract being home only to timelines inside the same dimension... if there is a Tesseract per dimension, then when the Dinopolis timeline "X" was pulled off the Dinopolis dimension to form a new hybrid timeline (that would be Keystone T-2) inside the original Crono, Serge and co's dimension by being fused with the Keystone T-1 timeline would a version of the Dinopolis timeline "X" be created inside the Dinopolis dimension version of the DBT, or would the same Dinopolis timeline "X" be splitten in 2 (pretty much like keystone t-2 was when kid saved serge) one going to the Dinopolis dimension DBT and the other goin' to Crono n' co's dimension, both being like 2 "mini-dimensions"(timelines) pretty much like Home n' Another inside the "big" original dimension, but instead of being parallel being perpendicular and in different realities? (i'm using concepts that timelines are like "mini-dimensions", a fraction of the "mother-reality/dimension", so Another is a "mini-dimension" inside crono n' co's reality/dimension, while Home is an anomaly "mini-dimension", limited by its own lack of past and with a unstable future which can be experienced at the dead sea and that runs parallel to Another inside crono n' co's reality/dimension)

Now if there was only one DBT for all dimensions, there would be a huge paradox, since by being pulled off its dimension, Dinopolis timeline"X" was eliminated from Dinopolis dimension, and then the Dinopolis timeline "X" would end up in the multi-dimensional Tesseract, but at the same time another (actually the same) Dinopolis timeline "X" would come to the Crono n' co's dimension and would be fused with the Keystone T-1 timeline when the time crash occured to form the Keystone T-2... In that case there'd be 2 Dinopolis timelines "X" existing together in a same dimensional reality in a determined point of space-time continua, and that'd be self-contradictory for Dinopolis timeline "X" would have been erased but wouldn't have either...

Something that one could quite conclude is... There are more "levels" of space-time reality than just the explicit "timelines" and "dimensions"... At least three one could identify: A "mother-dimension", reality itself which could be divided into many timelines, which by their turn could be divided once more into those "mini-dimensions", like Home and Another... and who knows how many more fractions could be created... o.o

sry, couldnt stop my blabbering :/ and i tried! tried hard! :0

Actually, there's only supposed to be one Tesseract.  At least, as I understand the plot, anyway.

Yeah, i thought that too... but now i'm not so sure O_o cuz u see, besides that crappy theory i just mentioned there's one more thing that's bugging me now that i thaught of it... if every dimension had the same tesseract, then every dimension would be in danger by the existance of the TD, and the TD would be not only a time devourer but a dimension devourer too... and, kinda, the Dragon God, which was the Reptites counterpart for humanity's FATE only got in contact with the TD when it was divided into the 6 lesser dragons, by the power of the frozen flame used by fate.. What i'm trying to say is: if there was only one Tesseract that would fit every dimension couldn't the so powerful dragon god have accounted its existence in its own dimension and tryed to destroy it? i mean, belthasaar found out about the TD, i think the dragon god could possibly find out about it pretty easier than belthasaar did...

And another thought: if there was only one DBT, there could be many TD inside there, not to say other Lavos-like creatures or even more powerful and almighty beings that were "eliminated" before even coming to exist... The so pure possibility subject that is seen in CC...

After all the idea that there is one Tesseract per dimension feels more logic o_O at least to me XD and at least for now o.o

It could possibly be explained like this: The reason cuz the Dinopolis dimension didn't go to the Tesseract, imho, is cuz the Tesseract is only home to "erased" timelines from a same dimension, though it feels pretty inconsistent since the definitions of dimensions and timelines look pretty similar in some ways and pretty different in others. Now, Dinopolis comes from another dimension with its own timeline(s) and prolly it's own Tesseract, which would be free of any Time Devourer for if Lavos didn't fall on earth Schala never even came to existence, so the fusion to create the TD never happened there. As i said it feels really inconsistent, this thing about many dimensions with many internal timelines, i mean... Any more idea about it?

You want more evidence of Time Traveler's immunity?  Okay.

Lets take Magus.  His memory of the Ocean Palace disaster.  When he recounted it, there was no Crono and co.  There was no prophet.  The Guru's were there.  These things were not there the second time.  So, since you don't believe in Time Traveler's Immunity, his memory should change to include these.  It doesn't.

Lets take Lucca's mom.  Originally, she was crippled.  Lucca went back to change that.  That should have changed her memory so she wouldn't remmber her mother being crippled.  But she does.

Did you even read the Axioms?  This is one of THE most accepted theories.

WTF?

The reason Magus doesn't accept the new memories because he's from another time line. He's the original Magus. He goes back to Zeal, the new Magus in 600AD will remember all of that shit, and one day be sent to either Zeal, or acctually have a happy life as Magus if Lavos was destroyed in 12,000BC in the Black Omen.
I think that even Gray accepts the whole you go back in time - you create another time line theory.

hey hey

for what i understood from ingame facts and by reading all the articles and other stuff here in the forum, yes, everytime the time travellers change sumthin' in the past it creates a "new timeline" and the old one goes to the DBT... and the thing about lucca keepin' her memories that her mom once had her legs crippled is because lucca herself saved her mom, so the info inside the memory of her brain traveled together with her when she went back from the saving mom quest (990 if i'm not mistaken, can't remember surely) to the present. To me this is a very basic mechanic of time flow in both Chrono's... Like when Kid gets screwt in CC her amulet rewinds time to a moment when kid was still safe and sends her to a safe place too, and that's why she doesn't remember a thing about anything a moment before she was about to get screwed, her memory is rewinded together with time and she appears in a safe place without knowing wtf happened...

I still think there are more than those 4 dimensions. Kid states that she'll look for Serge "In any time, in any dimension". By using any, it makes it seem like theres more than one and alot. Not really saying that there'd be more than one time devourer. Possibly that Home World and Another world were the only dimensions where Lavos devourered Schala to make the TD. In other dimensions, possibly he was automatically destroyed.

I don't think that quote meant anything besides her devotion to finding Serge.

Well DUH! That's why we debate about it.

Well DUH! A debate based on nonexistant facts isn't worthier than a couple o' monkeys debating for who should eat the last banana, it's all "uh-uh ah-ah", doesn't matter how long it's discussed

now, if squenix or any other official source came and said, shit guys, that quest took actually just a day, than we could discuss how that was a damn LONG day, without having to feel like fighting our buddy monkeys for that damn banana

OR if they came and left us with some consistent facts about distances, mechanics of natural time flow in chrono's n' co. quest period, about how much time did the party spend sleeping, eating, just hanging around in the open talking bullshit and watching the nightsky and other stuff - -"

and that'd for some reason feel ridiculous o.o"

Wasn't funny, and believe me, I should know about being unfunny.

Not funny at all. Sarcasm is, normally, only funny for who understands it and isn't being it's target, very few I've seen being exception to this, but this just doesn't matter for it has absolutely nothing to do with the thread's discussion, then just ignore everything written since "Not funny at all." until here

Wow. Just stop breathing. >< And their economy is hardly capitalist. Every nation has ONE goddamn store. Regardless, take a look at Britain. It has a monetary system, capitalism, etc. Your theory is a sack of bullshit that doesn't even make sense within it's own context.

Well, rofl, first things first. Brittish economy = capitalist, British state = monarchy. Guardia & co. economy = capitalism, Guardia state = monarchy. Both have a monetary system. SO WHAT? hahaha, gosh u pwnt me in terms of redundance. I gotta say, u have a talent for it. Now, every nation has ONE goddamn store, ONE goddamn inn, like FOUR or FIVE (i cant remember exactly, dun play trigger for a long time now) damn houses, almost none inhabitant... wait! but that could hardly be called a nation. hardly called a city o_O shiat! not even a village! maybe it simply doesn't exist and it's all came from our raw imagination? o.o ROFLMAO i think that the sack of bullshit has changed sides. the quantity of stores doesn't matter, what matters is the economical system they use to do their business. and, it looks a lot [O_O] with capitalism. at least to me O_o

but what would a stoopid nonsense talker know? certainly not jokes. much less sarcasm. oh yes.

I hate you already. Ta' ^_^ *runs to another thread*

good thing u hate me. if u loved me i'd be seriously thinking in changing my personality, not to say changing my status from alive to dead. now that was a bad one, don't u dare laugh.

and if u simply didn't give a shit about me, we'd be very alike XD or, maybe not? who knows? i don't.

but, if u pay attention, u can get plenty of "official" sources that can make u believe (not to say that they afirm) that Crono's name is actually Crono, no matter if u named him Fookt or Pwnt in ur snes (or pc)... and not only Crono, but all other characters as well.

Actually, the official sources will lead you to believe that his name is Chrono...8)

oh... is that so? then, i'm sorry, my bad ¬¬" i think that what u meant is that the official sources may lead u to believe that Crono is an adaptation of what (if there was enough space) should have been Chrono... but what i meant was that in official game guides, enterviews and all this non-substantial stuff the freaking punk is (probably incorrectly) said to be named Crono... damn those official crap ¬¬"

Then I guess you're just not good at it?

not at all   but man, if i was good at it, i'd certainly be good at it (gosh, now that was a redundant one ha-ha-ha)

oh my gawd

that was supposed to be a satirical post ( mostly the part about crono)

and about the quest's duration part it isn't registered as a fact nor are there facts which ppl can use to create a [nearly] correct answer... but, if u pay attention, u can get plenty of "official" sources that can make u believe (not to say that they afirm) that Crono's name is actually Crono, no matter if u named him Fookt or Pwnt in ur snes (or pc)... and not only Crono, but all other characters as well.

and geez, c'mon man... it was just a (supposedly) "satirical" post, which (supposedly) should "lighten" the heavy discussion about a pretty maleable and dependable matter of the game

u see, i'm a really big appreciator of the chrono series, as well as a big appreciator of toriyama's works, i wasn't critycizing the game or toriyama's drawing style, for i love both, it was just... geez... sumthin (supposedly, again) close to a "joke" - -"

about the monarch state coment, thats hardly true... they actually live in an underwater comunist state of absolute chaos, imho (omfg! a feudal state with a trial system, a full monetary system and a capitalist economy! [yeah, many stores, u go and buy ur stuff in the one with better prices, commercial competition, lotsa money coming and going, all those capitalist stuff] that's wierd! i truely believe that my underwater crap theory is more apropriated, not to say logical, mostly by the comunism part)

oh, oh! and before i forget, if u read my post again i said that it FELT like a year, not logically speaking, it was just a... feeling y'know? like when u drink too much and get a feeling that ur gonna throw up? do u understand what im saying? o.o

good XD

Instead of trying to figure out how long did Crono's & co. quest take I'd say this:

The duration of the quest depends on the players actions. lol, u see, if i spend 3 hours just walking back and forth around the map and then rest 200 times it certainly makes the amount of time the quest takes pretty big, and sum1 who just play through doin' the necessary stuff the fastest possible has a much faster journey.

U cant really estimate how long did the quest take for there isn't any fact nor a theory created through analysis of facts that could say it... It's something that should be relative to each player... BUT if I'd go and try to make a general guess as every1 else I think the 1 year thing feels more likely...

Now, about Crono working... Damn I don't think so... He just looks like too much of a vagabond to be actually a worker kind... I mean, what kinda worker guy would walk around with that kinda hair and with a wooden sword in hands... He's just a freaking vagabond
