Fan Project News/Updates / Chrono Trigger Novel Project
« on: May 04, 2006, 01:25:51 am »

The Chrono Trigger Novel Project, located at http://www.chronotrigger.info, has been around in the Chrono community for years, as many of you know.  Moving through lots of meticulous details and a great deal of time in project efforts (probably too much at times), it's been slow going but definitely worth it.

Anyway, since most of you have probably heard about the project at some point or another, let me just give something of an update/summary of what's going on, along with some other points of significance...

  • Literally YEARS have been put into the making of a finely tuned and exquisitely detailed novel that does its darnedest to do justice to the story of Chrono Trigger and the series collectively.  One thing's for sure: WE NEED YOUR HELP.  Please check out our handwritten petition effort, Operation Ultimate Victory (OpUV) and take just a few minutes to sign.  If you can collect more, that's awesome, but if not, then even just your signature is one more we didn't have before.  This is the only almost guaranteed way to get the novel published later on.
  • Demo Chapters 2-5 are available at the website, but please note that we are about to begin the process of revamping and refining these chapters.  It has probably been at least a couple of years since they were touched, and the way I handle descriptive narration, dialogue, and the like has changed a bit since then.  Make no mistake, they're still a great read, but just bear in mind that they will be even better. :)
  • PRIZES are periodically available for top monthly petition signature gatherers as a thank you and incentive for getting those names sent in soon.  Keep in mind that a Top Gatherer of the Year award will be given later on, which will definitely be a prize worth having.
  • We also take input from fans very seriously, and we love to discuss all ideas and angles for handling the story in the novel.  Please feel free to drop by the CTNP Official Forum to participate in these discussions.  Membership is not required to post but is encouraged.
  • Finally, please feel free to help us out by speading the word through pictures.  Feel free to use any of the following banners or buttons in your signatures and sites (or go here for more):

More updates to come later!

Submissions / Chrono Trigger Novel Project Petition News
« on: December 29, 2005, 12:04:40 am »
Hey everyone!  As you may or may not know, the Chrono Trigger Novel Project (CTNP) has launched a large effort to gain 30,000 handwritten signatures for the CT novel.  This is something that EVERY CT fan should get involved in.  To see all the details, just go to the main site, http://www.chronotrigger.info.

We also have specific discussions about the novel at our forum, http://forum.chronotrigger.info.  Feel free to get involved there (in addition to here, of course) if you have some spare time.

The Compedium and several smaller sites have been gracious enough to help support our cause through news updates and will hopefully continue to do so more and more.  Any help in spreading the word about CTNP and the petition is always appreciated.

Finally, I wanted to share with you our latest site update from today.  The main significance of this is that PRIZES will be available for those who sign up and gather signatures.  Here's the update:

_____
Hello!  First off, thanks to everyone who has signed up so far for the petition effort, Operation Ultimate Victory.  I just wanted to share this update from the site (www.chronotrigger.info) with the Compendium:

With about 100 members already, Operation UV has started off quite well, and I want to thank everyone who has helped to make it happen so far.  However, this is only the beginning, and we need YOU to get involved!  To help boost membership and throw in an extra dose of excitement, we're now offering prizes to those who get involved.  Here's the deal:

Starting January 1 and ending February 28, you can earn Chrono Trigger PRIZES for gathering signatures! Here's how it works: For each signature you get, you will be given one entry into a drawing for some cool CT prizes.  To kick things off, one prize will be awarded each month (January 31 and February 28 ), so be sure to get signatures in for both January and February for your chance to WIN!  Sign up HERE and login starting January 1 to see what the prize for that month will be!

In addition to these awesome prizes, the next 100 users (in addition to those who have already signed up) to sign up with an Operation UV account will be given special recognition at ChronoTrigger.info!  Don't miss this great opportunity to get your name, website, alias, or whatever on the site!  These members will be contacted asking what information they want to appear with their name/alias (within reasonable guidelines).

Login to the Op UV site after the New Year to start seeing prize information and to track the number of signatures you gather. Happy gathering!
