« on: August 06, 2005, 12:12:02 am »
Excellent that will help tremendously, especially for enemies.
I'm going to switch this topic over to the Crimson Echoes board now so I don't have to keep posting twice so keep an eye out for me over there, I'm sure I'm gunna have more questions, thanks again.

Chrono Trigger Modification / about the NPC list
« on: August 05, 2005, 11:49:21 pm »
For the NPC list, the way I'm doing it now when I load the NPC I have to choose a number from the list (it's not drop down it just has arrows to go up and down) and then after I choose a number I have to click update so that the actual description of the character shows up.  Is there an easier way to do this?

Everything else looks good.  I agree with you on the special arena once they get higher levels.  The FF7 arena is really what is motivating me to do this.  Thanks for the input.

Chrono Trigger Modification / questions
« on: August 05, 2005, 11:26:15 pm »
this is posted on crimson echoes board too

Awesome.  I'd love to get some feedback from people and get a number of questions answered.

Question 1-Here's an easy one, is there a documented list of the NPC's and what number they are.  I'm filling it up with shopkeepers, people who look like they can fight (maybe Toma, soldiers, knights etc).  I'm welcome to any suggestions.

Question 2-I was thinking maybe of maybe having prizes and thought the easiest way would be getting items from battle (I was imagining the trade system that 65,000,000,000 bc had).  So I was wondering if enemies that get fought in Colleseum can drop specific items even if they drop something else outside of the arena.

Question 3-Poll-One on One/Everyone Fights also would one on one be possible (don't worry about telling me how just say if it can be done)

Question 4-I'm going to put an merchant for items but should i put someone selling weapons.  Cause the weapons inventory should probably get better overtime and that might be doing to much work for little benefit.

Question 5-Poll-FF7 arena (stay in for multiple fights prize gets better)/ FF6 arena pay more fight harder guy get better prize

Question 6- Should we pay money to fight or something else<--nothing too complicated

That's all for now feel free to add more

Crimson Echoes / Colosseum
« on: August 05, 2005, 07:54:16 pm »
Hey everyone,

I mentioned in Kajar Laboratories that I'm working on a Chrono Trigger Colloseum.  I was wondering if you guys would be interested in having one in the upcoming game.  If this is completely out of line feel free to delete this post.  I do however think it would be a easy idea to implement and could add alot to the game.

I will be working steadily with my roommate, and if it doesnt come out flawless I would never allow it to enter a Chrono game i respect the series to much.  If this sounds like a good idea then I'll be sure to keep you guys updated.  I'll conform to any ideas that you guys want.  If you think it's a good idea but don't want me working on it, that's fine but I'd like to have a small amount of input value.  Maybe you guys already thought of this and are already working on it, if that's the case I'm sorry and go ahead and delete this.

Once again if I'm overstepping my boundaries feel free to delete this post.

Chrono Trigger Modification / Colosseum
« on: August 05, 2005, 07:48:14 pm »
Hey everyone

I'm relatively new here, I've been reading since May and just recently decided to make an account.  I downloaded the flux as I like to call it and have been messing around with it.  I'm still horribly undertrained but incredibly devoted and have a programming background.  In my spare time I've decided to make a Chrono Trigger Colosseum.  It'll probably take awhile but me and my roommate will work on it and we are both big Fans of the game and will do it justice.

I got the idea from a past post, I wish I could remember the guys name but he figured out code to make random enemies, though I may not use random enemies I thought the Colosseum was a good idea.  In fact, I dont know if it's possible but I really think it'd be a cool idea for Crimson Echoes, it would add replay value and give a way for some sort of ultimate fight.

So I would love to have feedback and I'll keep everyone up to date with how it's going.  I'll probably be posting questions.  If by some chance it is possible to put the Colosseum in the game and you guys want to see how I'm doing it I would love to help in any way possible.

Crimson Echoes / bugs for new update
« on: August 05, 2005, 01:36:13 pm »
I feel like a jerk mentioning these bugs but i know if you're a perfectionist like me you'd probably want it so here's a few small problems i noticed.

Bench goes above Crono's head in Leene square (upper left)

Right pillar at cathedral does the same thing

When CML are getting shelled Crono's left foot is covered up by the grass

Still lot's of dialogue trouble in Truce's Mayor's Manor the shelter guy and two people upstairs.

I liked how Marle takes you downstairs now and if it's not to difficult of an explanation I would be interested to know what the problem was before.  Though I'm not nearly as experienced as you guys I have been known to mess around with the Flux as I've been known to call it.

Compliment:  I loved Magus' scene at the very end, are you guys keeping those short cut scenes or was that only for the beta, cause I really liked how that flowed.  Great work everyone.

Crimson Echoes / Beta Testing & Bug Reports
« on: August 04, 2005, 02:39:56 pm »
I made a list but most of mine have been found/have been said to be unimportant but I do think i have a couple really easy ones to fix that I don't think were mentioned...maybe i missed them, sorry if I did.

In the house in truce..I think it's the mayors house where you can learn the simple tutorials for techs and stuff the shelter guy on the first floor says "recover hp and mp.f" i don't think the F should be there.  Also two people on the second floor of the same house have dialogue that is completely wrong.

I also thought that it probably would not be that hard to cover up the entrance to Heckran's cave on the Medina continent, maybe say there was a landslide.  That's just my opinion though, I thought it would be better than having an entrance you can't enter for some reason

The vocalist's fan at Medina square calls the vocalist a he at one point in his dialogue.

This might be on purpose but the barkeep at Porre's pub is still raving about his jerky...however I noticed that a vanguard soldier still likes it so it's not that big of a deal.

Finally imps at Medina's inn have weird dialogue.

The game is awesome so far guys you did a great job.  Your work is very much appreciated.
