Yeah, if she really is getting mad at you for not saying good morning while distracted by your own bad news, she's being selfish. She needs to know that not everything revolves around her.
:) Well, I got an answer from her just now. She said she didn't want to talk to me anymore. She said she thought I was annoying. :( I'm NOT letting this get me down though! She's just one person, and if sending her ONE message asking why she's mad at me is going to annoy her, then I don't need that kind of drama in my life right now. I'm trying to get a farm that is in my families name, and I found out yesterday that some folks around where I live are trying to butt in. That's what I was upset about. I actually met someone else that understands what I'm going through. And she even ageed to go out with me when I settle this business! :D

I mean, all you have to do is realize that teachers like Jesus never said one word about killing people who disagreed with you.

Alright, Jesus may not have said anything about killing people who disagreed with him, but God did, and they're the same person.  God telling his followers to kill people is all over the Old Testament.
That's what actually made me question my faith recently. I mean, if Jesus and God are one and the same, why the 180? I've never understood that. Of course, nowadays I don't even know what I really believe. :?
I think that the essence of Christianity pertains to Jesus and his teachings, just as Sajainta once explained, as the religion itself begins from him -- this would mean that the truer essence of Christianity remains in the New Testament. But the Old Testament still is a crucial study in hindsight, which seems to me more of a Prequel to a truer novel (just like how Prometheus is to Aliens).

The Old Testament is itself a reminiscent of former art (aka, the Orthodox Judaism) known as the Torah, and the conflicts between these values escalated against those of the Romans at the time. The appearance of Jesus eventually updated these ideologies and all was well and coolio.

...until the Dominionists returned. Politics and Religion intermingled, the core ideologies stagnated, and blah blah. Several things happened all at once: Islam was created at one place, Christianity was used a force in another, it was suppressed in another, etc. In places like India, Christianity went through a purification process at the time of its independence and became more benign than it was before (if not entirely). In places like America, well... let's just say the complaints are still ongoing.

One thing I'd advise to any reader: read the sacred texts like you'd read any fiction / non-fiction -- take what you find valid, leave the rest. Reading them is pretty enlightening (and while there are a thousand others that are more awesome than the Christian bible, it's still pretty awesome in its own right), and you get to have interesting insights about the imagination and culture left by in the past. Historical readings as such are important in many cases, and inspiration is bound to have you. Faith is always a good thing, but it has to be enforced by reason and curiosity; if you're following blindly then you wouldn't know if you're about to step into a ditch.

I've known quite a lot of Christians in my life -- yes, some are pretty restricted by their traditional background, but others are brilliant! (Hell, my Christian boss is a living Sherlock Holmes)

Speaking of personal faith, I've never really been religious nor an atheist (and often found myself constantly mocking their ongoing conflicts with each other) because I never found myself belonging to such categories. The kind of person I am, it's hard to place them in a certain group, even though I might go out of my way to defend one provided I feel that something is unjust. Despite that, I don't think I've every been wrong about my own faith; yes, I had doubts in between, once or twice, questioning my identity, but when that happened...

...everything and everyone -- reason, art, ecstasy, dreams, sensation and people -- just simultaneously embraced me, telling me that I was never wrong. It's not that I refused to be (rather, being a poet, I often question and contradict myself), but everything I come across simply builds upon the essence that I once was; it's a venture of self-exploration. Everything simply becomes clearer to me when I look deep within, because therein I find limitless winds, seeking where to push the dark clouds and transforming it into a rain of inspiration upon barren droughts.

The question isn't "What religion you belong to"; rather, the question is, "Are you human? If so, what defines you as a human?" Here's hoping that the rains in my current post would inspire you somehow, James.  :)
Tushantin, thank you. I'll come right out and say it, I hold myself to VERY high moral standards. I don't like to hurt others, and even if I had to, I don't think I could. I have always held Jesus' "turn the other cheek" rule as something we need to do more of. Sadly, that's not going to happen anytime soon. :( I could never take every rule that's in the bible, because many of them contradict eachother. I just take what I feel is morally right, and ignore the rest. Tushantin, I'll say it again. Thanks. :D Now I think we'd better get back on topic, before the thread gets shut down.

I don't think that's limited to people on dating sites.  Some people, regardless of where you meet them, just get upset over petty bullshit.  Hopefully you're just misreading her but if not...yeah that seems pretty damn petty and immature.
I REALLY hope I'm misreading it. I like her a lot, and it would really hurt if she was going to judge me on something like that. And by the way, thank you!

The hell is with some people on dating sites? :x I was getting along so well with a gal I met on a dating site. She lives near me, and we were hitting it off pretty well. This morning, I got some unpleasant news, and told her about it. I forgot to tell her good morning, and she seems to be holding it against me. :( I don't know if this is the right thread to put this on, but I needed to tell somebody other than family. Have a good weekend, everyone! 8)

Okay, I'm going to admit that I'm a christian, but that doesn't mean I'm not afraid to condemn these SOBs. I mean, all you have to do is realize that teachers like Jesus never said one word about killing people who disagreed with you. And yet, for all they claim to care about the world, most christian don't seem to give a damn.

Hey, welcome to the Compendium Master Garland. It takes some bravery to venture into this discussion as one of your first posts, I must say!

I think you dismiss the bodily argument much too hastily. An umbilical cord isn't just a piece of string; it demands a powerful sacrifice from the prospective mother's body. I'm not equipped to discuss all the effects of pregnancy, but my understanding is that they are absolutely huge.

That's what makes it simple for those who identify as pro-choice. We can talk about economics and social responsibility and moral justifications and hypotheticals till the cows come home, but at the center of all this lies the bedrock question of whether a woman's bodily autonomy should end once pregnancy begins. It's worth noting that a proper pro-choice stance would oppose forced abortions just as much as forced completion of pregnancy. The point is to entrust decisions regarding pregnancy to those who are pregnant, end of story.

I had a "moderate" stance on this question pretty much identical to yours for the longest time, but things became a lot clearer for me once the above point was made. Of all the possible positions, I think the moderate stance is the most unseemly now that I look back on it -- it essentially appeals to what's worst in us. How tempted we are to look at a person's heritage or physical quirks and judge their worth and potential based on those things! At least, that's what I found hiding in the dark of the back of my mind when I examined my own position more closely.

Thank you very much for the friendly greeting there FaustWolf :) It is fairly odd that this topic was the first of which I participated in for sure. This is just among some of the subjects I feel so strong about.

It is true as you say 'the decisions regarding pregnancy should ultimately be in the one who is pregnant's choice' but that does not dismiss the immorality of her abortion. Indeed the developing fetus does extract a fair chunk of it's mothers nutrients for development via the umbilical cord so in a sense the two are one but still separate.

I am semi-moderate in the subject at hand in that if the child will be chronically deformed with little to no hope of a normal existence or slight happiness that a mercy killing may be a good choice. I also have no dark recesses for my reasoning no matter how hard I have tried to search it out(yes I do a lot of soul searching in myself too) it is just how I feel is right.

I have had some personal relations with people who have considered abortion but chose against it. I am a bit acquainted with the matter personally. My mom was going to abort her oldest child my big sister but an angel came to her in the form of a woman passively leading her away from the abortion. I won't go into the details but it is a very beautiful story. The other one is my sister-in-law was going to abort her second child but through the grace of God she had a change of heart. The latter(my sister-in-law) had her first child at the young age of 15 and she has done wonderfully and her children are very happy at that.

With all thing in consideration I am a Christian and I know that every child that has and will be killed are going to be in heaven anyway. So they are happy and in peace in the long run.

NOTE: I am sorry for any offences I may have caused to you Lord J Esq, I just hope the they will not create any strident feelings between us; as I hate conflicts to be honest.

P.S. I am so very happy to be apart of the CC forums now, greetings to all.

Took the words right out of my mouth, mostly. I do feel that it should be up to the mother to decide whither or not to have a child. People need to wake up and realize that this debate has become so politicized that it's almost impossible for many people to even have their own opinion. I see too many parrots on t.v. that spout their parties stance on many different topics. By the way, I fall somewhere in the middle. I don't want anyone trying to force me to be something or someone I'm clearly not. My dad was like that when I was growing up, of course he wasn't around most of the time. I'm not going to go any further down that road since I've went off the topic. Sorry :)

Interesting... Maybe one of these days, if the Supreme Court decides that fan games like Crimson Echoes are perfectly legal, maybe the team that made it can finally present their work without threats of lawsuits. On a similar note, what's up with Nintendo not going after Mother fans for re-translating the games into English? Is it because that series hasn't been released over here (I know Earthbound was, I meant the first and third games in the series)? And do you think they may go after the group that is supposedly making a FOURTH game, because I think there's a line between re-translating and make your own game in a established series right now. Just thought I'd toss those out there, sorry. :)

I don't know if it's happened to anyone else, but the other link doesn't seem to be working either. It may just be my computer, though.

What's really sad and annoying is it doesn't even matter which path in the story you choose. I mean, you can choose to save Kid or not, but it doesn't make a difference. I know there's supposed to be an environmental message at this point, but I think it should have depended on which path you chose. I usually try to save Kid anyway, but that's because it's what I would try to do in real life. :)

Another weapon that is red in-game is Crono's Red Katana. But, I think that's the only if I'm not mistaken.

 You have got to be kidding, but I doubt it. Hilarious! :D

Okay, in hindsight, it's actually pretty funny. Yeah, I wasn't even paying attention to what day it was, ha. But, I really wish they would make a Chrono game that at least tied all the loose ends together, ya know? Oh well, maybe someday.

I WANT PROOF, FAUSTWOLF! NOW! EDIT: I just looked at that last link and THIS IS A SORRY EXCUSE FOR A APRIL FOOL'S DAY JOKE, FAUST!

Right now, I'm really loving the first two Arc The Lad games on my PSP. :D Without spoiling anything, the second game has some pretty major themes. Such as eugenics, child kidnapping, amnesia, and the death of some major characters. I'm also loving both Chrono games. :D Chrono forever, baby! 8) (Correction, I'm loving the SECOND Arc The Lad game. The first one's story just seems way too stereotypical.)
