Same here.  I can't wait to learn and use TF 2.  It's going to rock.

I'm also in CS, but I'm always up and willing to contribute to scripting of any sort.  Also, voice acting could be fun,    let me know what you need.

I'm using the old one now, but if you want to have new music, I suppose we can remix it.  I suppose when I get this totally finished and you all review it before release, we can decide what stays and what goes.

Edit: Check out the Spoilers section so we can all figure out Alex's quest as of now.

Both pretty much would be good.  For Crono, dungeonesque music; for Alex, a kind of militaristic theme.

Who knows... I guess the ferry can take Crono and Marle back after their cave adventure ends.  I have to remember to put that in.  Ok, back to work.

It's not a very fun fun scene to be hoonest.  It takes place on the world map and you see a couple of tornadoes spawn out of nowhere next to the bridge.  Then, you hear a crumbling followed by there not being a bridge anymore... If I can remember I'll create a broken sprite to put in its place.

For music... let me think...
- Overworld (Guardia for Crono and Porre for Alex)
- Forest
- Cave
- Overworld of Porre (this will be used for Crono's quest): make this one sound kind of dramatic I suppose if possible (right now I'm using the Ocean Palace music)
- Boss Music
- Battle Music
- I already have the perfect music for Alex's intro, so that's not so bad, but we could use some for Crono's.  Something half dark, mysterious, and something to give it a kick.

That's all the music I can think of for now.  Time to go take a final and then back here to work on Chrono Stream.  By the way, anybody have a good idea what the monster in the cave should look like?  I already have Therris' sprites made up (took human Glenn and gave him blue hair, red cape... looks cool).  Let me know.

They would.  I have them learning basic level 1 magic at level 5.  By going through and fighting only the mandatory battles, you can get to I think level 7 by then.  I'm also thinking I can edit the monsters stats so it won't necessarily take too too much to kill, but if you use only physical attacks.. it'll take forever.  Yeah.  I like it.  Hehe.

Now for the monster.  I'm thinking it can look like (or be with color modification) a Heckran or something along those lines.  Either that or we can have some fun with the monsters never put in the original game (like some of the ones from the prerelease) and just come up with our own stats and the like.

As it stands now... this game is going to be HUGE.  A very in depth story, along with a very developed cast of characters.  I think I'll post the script for this later, as I've remarked in the game stuff thread.

I'm just getting very excited with the coming of Christmas and the ability to release a small demo of this game by then.  It's going to rock.  So far it's looking VERY promising for (or by) the 20th being ready to be shown to all of you and then maybe a day or two later (for any bugs you catch or story changes) for the rest of everyone here.

Which reminds me, aside from sending this to Azarath's email (if it does in fact have the capability to hold the game) how do you want me to 1) send this out to all of you, and 2) be able to let others download it.  I know I've asked this before, so if anyone knows... it'd be greatly appreciated.

Anyways, going to do a little more programming and then probably a script update by tomorrow night.  Leave it (b/c all suggestions are welcomed and looked at VERY frequently).

Heh, yeah, that's the case with most people and college... of course I took out student loans... 66K in debt now... ugh...

Yeah, and not all that difficult to do too... just that it'll take time to program her quest :-p
The thing that will be probably the best about this game is how all of the stories will cross over each other and some wil interact with each other.

As for what's happening right now... Alex's quest is on hold until we can all figure out what happens after he leaves the hospital.  Due to the bridge being out (it gets hit by an element (Tornado)) at the beginning of Crono's quest, Alex is stuck in Porre for the moment.  My guess is that he should talk to the other generals (commanders or whatever) and eventually meet up with mr slave dude - Therris I think we named him?  From there... a quest to rebuild the bridge...

As for Crono... after the forest is finished, and we either rescue or say screw you Alex, I'm thinking, Crono should either pay someone off to rebuild the bridge or something happens that allows him to get back to Guardia easily enough to report.  I don't know, I think we need to brainstorm on that one.

Let me know what you want to do.  But as far as the game is progressing, it's coming along very nicely.  I am thoroughly enjoying programming this game and am myself looking forward to playing it (moreso than I do now for testing reasons).
I think I may post the script as of now later on.  I kind of have to go through and find it all :-p  haha.  Yeah, anyways, let me know what you think and such people.

By the way, thanks for the compliments, they mean a lot.

Exactly.  The king sends Crono to the South (Porre) to acquire information on why there seems to be less and less communication between the 2.  There, he learns of a special mission (via a soldier in the hospital) that has been going on for quite a time.  What that is he doesn't know, but Marle suggests going to find "this Alex" and spy on him essentially.
Last the soldier heard, Alex and troops entered the Forbidden Forest about 3 months ago, but they have yet to hear from him.  This is when the Forbidden Forest becomes (unlocked) and you get to go on that quest.
And EVENTUALLY, Crono comes to the area with the cave (The Cave of the Hijira) or whatever you want to call it.
They enter and find your deranged monster inside.  I'm thinking only magic attacks will hurt the thing and physical attacks do VERY minor damage.  Which would explain why the soldiers got their butts handed to them.
After battle and upon viewing the mangled soldiers, he finds Alex, barely alive outside.  Either that or the slave comes and takes him away while revealing a bit of this mission.  Which reminds me, should Crono or Therris should save Alex?  Let me know.
In any case, that's what I have up to now.  I have yet to work much more on Alex's quest, as it happens after Crono's is "completed" (in other words what I have so far).  So, I'm unsure on how you want to proceed after he wakes up in the hospital.  Let me know because right now, I gotta get ready and get to work and such.  I'll read and update more later on.

Yeah, that could be a bad thing.  I like Marle... but you're right, it would be a very emotional drive to kick someone's butt.  We can use the idea of the stream again.  Yeah, Marle dying will be able to happen, but if it doesn't happen, then you get a different ending.  (There will be a lot of endings... ugh...)
And what do you mean the "Crono's story" text?  Do you mean the last picture?  I have it show up like Alex's Story, and like the 1005 AD stuff.
In other news... I've worked a LOT on Crono's quest last night.  It's coming along very VERY nicely (up until 5 this morning fooling with everything).
So here's my question... in this I have Porre Military Training Grounds.  And there's three of them (North, West, and East).  In each I have a general (or a commander, or a captain, or whatever you want me to call the guy).  There's also a bunch of troops  (and by that I mean at least 20 per area) marching and working out in perfect step with each other.  Do we want to eventually simulate a battle with these people (any of them).  I'm thinking that they're the ones that eventually attack Guardia while Crono and Marle are away.  Let me know what you think.

Oh, and I just htought of something... rather than having Marle die what if we do this... have her and Crono become separated.  In one scenario she dies, but in the other, she gets away and ends up going on her own quest... which you'll be able to start in New Game +.  Again, let me know.

Heh, I'm sure it'll be fine.  Thanks for the compliment btw.
And now for your viewing pleasure... the beginning of Crono's Story...

The beginning of a meeting...

Trust is something that is hard to find these days...

Crono should go this alone... but look who's evesdropping...

It looks like Marle is going to come

You can't go, this is a top priority secret.. DUH!

No kidding, that's why I'm going along.

The beginning of a quest...

Enjoy the pictures people.  I'm working on this all night (because I can dang it).  There should be more to update (not necessarily pictures) tomorrow.  Later.
