General Discussion / Re: Stuff you hate
« on: November 07, 2011, 03:54:28 pm »The response of some Republicans to the Herman Cain scandal is utterly repulsive. While many defenses have been raised for Cain, the one I am referring it is Republican claims that Cain is innocent because there is no such thing as sexual harassment, or that while it might once have existed, it no longer does.Wait.
Are they saying that the idea of sexually harassing someone is fictitious, and that even if it did happen, it doesn't happen anymore?
...
What is WRONG with these people?

The biggest problem I have with falling back an hour is that I normally wake up and am out of the house before sunrise. It's already dark and cold and scary, and putting it back another hour just makes me feel... antsier. I LIKE being able to see where I'm going, and since the streetlights in my area are burnt out, it's kind of awful for me.
If I didn't have to leave so early, I would be all for it.

He could very well say that he had been Christian his whole life, and refused to part from that. Breaking away from something that you've been all your life is very difficult.Conversation with D:
"I don't think I can consider myself a Christian anymore. I'm starting to see that a lot of the things I was taught when I was growing up just weren't true. So no, I'm not a Christian. And I'm okay with that."
/flails happily
WOOT! Go D, and congrats! Congrats to BOTH of you!
Congratulating someone for realizing they're not part of a religion? Not that I object, it just seems a little strange. It doesn't seem like a good or a bad thing from my point of view...though if you're congratulating them on their happiness as evidenced by happy flailing, then that makes perfect sense.
...but maybe I'm the odd one out in this group of people, being a Christian myself. Hah, I'm almost afraid of being banned for saying that!

Polling / Re: Would you buy Chrono merchandise?
« on: October 29, 2011, 12:49:34 pm »
I know that FanGamer has a couple of Chrono-themed stuff (Lavos keychains, an excellent sweatshirt that I've got my eye on, pins, shirts, etc.), but I'm always open to more.
Plushies. I want plushies. Plushies of every playable character in CT (including Schala and Lavos). Plushies of important people in CC (Serge, Kid, Guile, Schala, Guile, those two annoying cute things, Guile... and Guile. Can't forget Guile). And we can't forget RD plushies. Those would be excellent, and I would pay money for them. Good money, too.

The guy had a lot going for him. People who would get tattoos of his brand on their butts and arms, people who would buy anything with said brand on it (and mock anything not the same)... and a really good head on his shoulders.
We've lost someone... pretty important.

General Discussion / Re: The Record of Right-Wing Crazy
« on: October 01, 2011, 09:23:57 am »And yet here's the problem. Those Pearl guys are horrible rotten human beings to their adopted children, but to their real children? Their neighbors? Their family, their friends, the government? They're fine upstanding human beings. It's until we see them do horrible things to these children that we really see just how messed up they are. It's time to start thinking about charging the Pearls with involvement in the murder of children, and time for our country to pass laws that restrict adoption by fundamentalist parents. It won't work. We may as well pass laws that restrict adoption by unqualified parents as whole, especially those who are mentally ill, under prepared, under privileged (i.e., incapable of supporting an infant), and those having sufficient criminal record for causing harm to human beings.
The other day someone linked me to an MSNBC report on the protests on Wall Street, and how the police were just being dicks. I sent it along to my ridiculously conservative mother. I'm wondering how she'll react when she sees a different perspective, or if she'll simply delete it because it came from MSNBC.

... what is wrong with these people. I mean seriously. Something must have seriously happened when they were really really little to make this happen to them. No one can be THAT stupid, can they?

I had a friend once. He was doing something, and another friend told him to stop. He kept doing it. She kind of freaked out and left. I told him to apologize, and he said that she was asking for it by annoying him. He found no reason to apologize to her.
He and I are not friends anymore.

It seems like it would be a good experiment, but honestly it's pretty messed up. No one should be higher or lower based on what sits between their legs, or what they like to do with said stuff.
On a similar issue, I learned that today is banned book week. Several banned/burned books in America's (and the world's) history include The Bible and The Quran. Not sure on how to spell that last one.
Why can't we just leave those as fiction, and let it be?

ARRRRRRRGHBARGLEDARGL
I've officially started my college career. Most of the time, I take the bus into school. Other times, I convince my mother to drive me. And she likes me, so she rants to me about her church.
Apparently, her pastor doesn't really talk about the 'Christian values' that my mother likes. While reading the bulletin, she saw that said pastor had put in a letter about a Muslim community in our area. They were dedicated to peace, and they wanted to help the Red Cross gather blood for... something or other. My mother got... very upset about it. She didn't believe it was possible for Muslims to be of peace, after reading the Quran. I bit my tongue about telling her that Christians were just as bad, if not worse.
Kind of wish I'd smacked her upside the head.

Polling / Re: Which version should someone who has never played CT play first?
« on: August 24, 2011, 11:14:13 am »
If you're playing it with a friend watching, go for the SNES version. Bigger screen, you can giggle at Woosleyisms, etc.. Share with her some info on what was changed in each revision (DS version, retranslation, that sort of thing). On top of that, you can kick back in a big comfy chair and she won't be like RIGHT over your shoulder. Don't know about you, but that freaks me out.

I hate it when I forget passwords. More likely than not, though, I just forget which one goes to which account.
On a side note, I seem to have agitated my tongue somehow. There's a little piece of flesh that just kind of dangles off. It hurts.
... also, school starts soon.

I love cooking! ... when it all goes according to plan. When it doesn't, I end up with a mix of something too dry and gooey to be edible.
