So, totally switching to a different game, it was announced on Christmas that NamcoBandai is going to make a Soul Calibur V. Thoughts and theories?

Personally, I hold a strong abhorrence to Mary Sues. Probably the worst instances are when fangirls have self-inserts that make everyone even more out of character than the fic would have on its own; very RRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE inducing.

Also, note how there's just about twice as many posts in the 'angry' thread than the 'love' thread. Seems to say a lot about the forum, methinks.

I love Henry Weinhard's vanilla cream soda. The stuff is terrible for you, just like any other soda, but I would rather drink one of those than be given an ice cream cake. Serious business right there.

These?

Indeed. It's probably that I har didn't try hard enough, but whenever I finally found a place to get them, they were gone. eBay thing, I guess.

I have Chrono Trigger DS, and the game has its moments when it pisses me off with all of that renaming crap they pulled, but there are many things I'm appreciative of though (Apocalypse Arm + Dragon Tear, anyone?) I plan on eventually beating Lavos by smashing his shell, rather than hitting him over the head. Gotta get Ayla up to ** before I can do that, though. Easily doable to the Lavos Spawn, however.

I also have Chrono Cross, and I officially have become royally pissed off that I can't find one of those Gate Key keychains. Grrr...

...As powerful as Magus is, he needs to join forces to win against Lavos.

Totally not true. At least, when he's level **, as proven by these two videos. Yeah, the guy did a hack, but still. If Crono can do it, so can Magus. ;)

Hey. Hey. Hey. HEY.

You should totally find a way to successfully 'epic'-ize Either Robo's or Johnny's theme.  :D

I shouldn't really make any requests, so don't take it seriously. But to make every song on there have some sort of epic feel to it... some of them would just make me lawl my pants off.

Oh shit, that would be lolz. Put him as a guest character in one of the Dragon Quest games, get him over 9000- I mean, tension up to one hundred, have him go SSJ.

Well, yeah. She's not the smartest woman you'll ever see, thinking that a tall, pale, demonic looking wizard with a scythe isn't a particularly dangerous person not helping her situation a bit.

To be honest, that's probably where Crono gets a lot of his tendencies for stupidity from. It's not a good idea to mix 'numskull' with 'hero'.

Hnnngh, they did that on purpose. I haven't heard anything that comes any more pleasingly close in similarity than those two songs, except maybe the Ghostbusters' theme and 'I Want A New Drug.' But those don't count, they aren't viral enough.

Hmm... since this one's done and over, we wouldn't be able to know what's coming next, would we? like, what theme we plan on for the next time around? I'd just like some time to get something ready is all.

Chrono Trigger DS Analysis / Re: Best Party?

Personally, I tend towards a team of Crono, Magus and Ayla, especially in the New Game/Continue+. Crono and Magus are basically one another, but switched around. Crono has amazing attack power and speed, and his magic isn't all that shabby either. Magus, on the other hand, isn't anywhere near as great as Crono physically, and even with the considerable damage his scythes do, he just can't match up to Crono, especially when Crono gets his ultimate weapon. As for Magus' magic, though... I've got him doing about twice as much damage magically as Crono, and even able to outdo Lucca in terms of how efficiently they're blown away. He may not be much of a help when it comes to just whacking enemies with a physical attack, but he can lay waste to hordes of enemies with his magic. Both Crono and Magus are fast, so they can toss in an item whenever it's deemed necessary; that's the only reason I survived Queen Zeal my first time around, because I almost always had someone available to use a megaelixir when Zeal started using the 1HP moves on me like crazy.

As for Ayla, I think she's just amazing. She does just about as much damage as Crono, if not more, with her physical attacks, and even when you have all of them with ** speed, she still gets to go first. Equip her with something that increases her damage, or in some cases critical hit rate, and she'll beat just about anything into a fine, red paste, especially when she gets the Bronze Fist. Sure, her magical abilities suck, but with raw physical power like that, who needs it? Basically, with this team, I just crush pretty much everything that comes my way. The items, especially the elixirs  and megaelixirs, are going to be just about all you'll need to get by in terms of healing, and on the Black Omen you can even buy elixirs, which I've done to the point of having 89-99 of them on me at all times.

Honestly, I do believe that she's dead. Her 'humanity' being regained, at least as how I interpret it, is that her soul, spirit, whatever, was released from Lavos' grasp upon her demise, and so she was able to pass as it was meant to be.

This does NOT, I repeat does NOT completely and definitely say she is dead. Had she survived and escaped, I like to think that the possibility of it could be explained with the 'corruption' itself. I, for one, am an avid fan of the Soul series, the Soul Calibur for Dreamcast being my favorite. After Siegfried is finally released from Soul Edge and his Nightmare persona, it still doesn't make him free of the taint of the demonic sword. This is actually mentioned in his storyline in SCIII, where he goes to Kilik to try and learn his techniques for purification. It says that he could never be able to use them due to the fact that Soul Edge had left a lasting impression on him, and therefore he is, obviously, not quite normal/human again, retaining some of the traits from his time as Nightmare. That was corruption by an evil sword; considering how much more power Lavos, who is basically a sentient, parasitic asteroid, has than that measly blade, I would say that the effects contact with it had on Zeal would most definitely linger, and one of those could be the timelessness, and near-immortality she'd attained from her connection would most likely be very diminished but far from completely gone. Perhaps she'd survived because of the residual power she still retained, and was able to drift away to some other place. I find it something fun to toy with that she'd drifted into the End of Time, much like Gaspar, and that eventually she'll make it to the guru's humble abode. After all, time is basically an irrelevant concept to study and watch from that little outpost, as it's just the ether that hangs about the space-time continuum. Were she to live through something like that and make it there, I'm very certain that she would be able to spend what's basically the rest of eternity there with Gaspar and Spekkio.

Of course, in all likelihood this theory is shaky at best, and so I presume that Zeal had officially and irrevocably died after the Omen disintegrated. The biggest reason I find that the most plausible outcome is because that's probably just how Kato had intended it to be, and so until the official word is given, she should be thought of as a dead woman and resting soul. Just my two-cents here.
