Chrono Compendium Discussion / Re: Dream Splash 2013
« on: April 21, 2013, 11:32:27 pm »
Sounds good to me. It's a shame that I couldn't find a scanner, I had made a picture that, after a bit of computer work on it, would have looked like this, but with Magus, Slash, Flea, and Ozzie.
As for the idea for the next one, I'm totally pumped for stuff in the future. The Rick Astley/Robo pic I did awhile back doesn't count (what with it already being in the gallery), but I've got a few other tricks up my sleeve.

Time, Space, and Dimensions / Re: How does a Lavos spawn gets sent to the Black Omen?
« on: February 01, 2013, 01:01:41 am »
That the spawn in the Black Omen is called an Elder Lavos Spawn makes things seem even weirder; judging by what of the Lavos species' lifespan we can determine, for it to be significantly older than the ones that you find on Death Peak means that it came from at least centuries ahead of the latest date that you can see the world.
I would assume that your idea about Queen Zeal having drawn it forth from the future (possibly somewhere around the very end of the world altogether, not just the post-apocalyptic setting) is the most likely to be correct. The Black Omen, being a product of Queen Zeal and her tapping into the power of Lavos, who is shown to have time-space-reality-warping capabilities, could hypothetically have some extra time-screwing strangeness as well. Another would be that it's just from Queen Zeal's own power, since she's the one who has absorbed the most of Lavos' energy at that point, and so she would take on features of Lavos. Lavos can create its own pocket dimension, so after having saturated herself in the energies of something so powerful, being able to pull something from a future date doesn't seem like too far of a stretch.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Who would you cast in a Chrono Trigger anime?
« on: January 07, 2013, 01:38:53 am »
Call me traditional, but I'd actually say that the Japanese Crono should be Nobuyuki Hiyama. Yes, the guy does pretty much nothing but hot-blooded young men, but still. Crono hardly says anything, he just does; even made a picture to represent that.

On that note, Sam Elliott should be Melchior. If he was still alive, I'd say Tony Jay should be Belthasar, but otherwise I'm not so sure. Perhaps the same man who did Master Roshi?

Dream Splash V - Middle Ages [2012] / Re: Dream Splash V!
« on: November 17, 2012, 02:22:22 pm »
I've already gotten something made, though I may submit more. What would you guys think of The Mystic Knights and Magus posed like the cover of Queen's album Sheer Heart Attack?

Chrono Compendium Discussion / Re: Dream Splash V Poll
« on: October 23, 2012, 02:57:58 am »
I'm all for the Middle Ages. If I was allowed to vote twice I'd also put up the End of Time, but I just like the Middle Ages more, if only by a very small margin.

I vote either Middle Ages or Ruined Future. I love to draw depressing things anyway.

General Discussion / Re: Ruins, why are they so popular?
« on: September 29, 2012, 12:58:01 am »
Mostly, I think, ruins are utilized to give a sort of mystery and enigma to a setting, usually to imply that there was once something great before people marched on, or some terrible catastrophe happened. It can be used to hint at power that is now unknown, such as the magic doors of Zeal in the future, the many sealed boxes, and the Forest Ruins on Medina. To support the more tragic end of things, you have no further to look than either the Giant's Claw being formed of the Tyrano Lair, or in Chrono Cross, the Dead Sea, the latter being so earth-shakingly disastrous that time itself ceased to exist there anymore, for the most part.

Time, Space, and Dimensions / Re: Marle Paradox, Simple Analysis
« on: September 01, 2012, 02:06:29 pm »
Yeah. You never see anybody else actually disappear as Marle did. Yes, many of them change, but apart from that one instance, nobody simply disappears. My thought is that The Entity takes her to the Darkness Beyond Time as a sort of haven where she is essentially untouchable by anything, save beings like the Time Devourer, who did not exist at that time.

I honestly thought that it was simply a spot where The Entity had pulled her, since, apparently, going through Gates grants you Time Traveler's Immunity, so there would have been another hand in her disappearance. Things being interpreted by Crono and Lucca as they were, they would have thought it was the cease-to-exist thing, which would provide motivation for them to tinker with time further.

Lavos, the Planet, and other Entities / Re: Lavos's actual size
« on: August 23, 2012, 03:18:29 am »
Honestly, judging by just how big those city-domes must be, I figure that Lavos is probably about half as wide as Manhattan. All things considered, that's abso-fucking-lutely HUGE. Lavos is big enough to eat Godzilla like a hotwing, were that the sort of food Lavos was into. As we all know, being the planet-sucker it is, such is not the case. I remember seeing somewhere that there was a debate about the size of the Black Omen, and it was, through a bit of estimation, that it was about as wide as Manhattan island, and the Lavos sprite that's used during the eruptions is about half that particular dimension.
Very, very rough estimates, but it makes the visualization all the grander, don't you think?

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Wanted to share how I feel about Chrono Cross, and why.
« on: August 22, 2012, 08:21:59 pm »Everybody loves the music.
I know a total of one person who listened to the soundtracks for both games and meh'd at them. Didn't say he didn't like them, but he just didn't get what all the fuss was about.
Far as I know he still liked the games themselves, though.
