News Submissions / Re: Chrono Cross Music on Television?
« on: September 01, 2018, 04:24:01 pm »
It was a popular synth patch loop in the 90s. Some tracks in some Spyro games also used it. Chronopolis' music is mostly just Mitsuda doing some piano work over a loop.  Nowadays we have far more powerful tools like the SPectrasonics Stylus and Stylus RMX and Omnisphere 2 etc so that you won't quite hear the same loops twice. But in the 90s, this was the extent of the technology. Think of it as early AI involvement in music composition. There's probably a thousand tv shows in the 90s that also used this loop.

From the previews - it sounds heavily sampled rather than recordings of real musicians. It's a bit cliche, and predictable. It's like taking Creid and Kirite for the Chrono universe. I was hoping for something a bit different, but it's decent nonetheless. A lot of it comes off as a top notch OCR fan album. 10 tracks is definitely not enough, I would like another installment or two of 10 tracks each if he's gonna do both games.I feel like this should be 10 or 15 bucks, not 20.

"Today is the release date of the Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger arranged album. With the help and support of a number of musicians, staff, and back to the fans, we were able to finally release this. It was a long time coming. I want to thank you all; I think that it is a work with many things you will enjoy. Yes, the environment to buy and sell music has changed and diversified significantly over these last few years. As a result, we offer several ways to buy the album, including a digital 24 bit/96khz wav/flac release, in addition to the physical cd."

Chrono News / Re: Chronicles of Time Fanwork In Progress!

Sounds mostly like a funk-acid jazz remix with a few folk rock tunes, like Brink of Time but more strictly within the funk-rock jazz fusion idiom than that album. There's a chillstep remix of Secret of Forest. All in all, this is very good shit imo. Seems like a synthesis of Mitsuda's arrange style like Brink of Time, Creid, and the Cowboy Bebop OSt from Yoko Kanno and the Trigun OST from Tsuneo Imahori. Will be keeping an eye.

Noticed this went offline somehow. Reupped it on bandcamp, the 'download here' thingy in the OP now links to it.

Holy fuck he decided to include CT as well? Thought it was just gonna be CC arrange after all these years of him talking about it and posting previews. Wonder why he didn't do RD as well and just rearrange all three.

Final Fantasy 13-2.

Also, it was Chrono Brake in Japan.

Some sort of Radical Dreamers remake using Flux?

May have been for the better, as it would've been the same era they were milking FF for all it was worth after their big move which lost them Uematsu. Part of what makes Chrono special is there is so little of it. That and it's good quality.

I always wanted to license off the Radical Dreamers 15th Anniversary Remake I did, especially since I engraved and transcribed a pdf of all the sheet music. Not cheap, but glad to see it's being done with CT and CC at least! Looks to me like this would be the guy to do this project, as he works in the virtual instrument industry and is a composer for vg music himself.
