We get along great (Hence why we're to be wed), but there's always ways to improve the relationship. Also, any SE Compendiumites wanna come? :p

The game has officially been renamed. The new logo was done by Mr. Bekkler & LadyMarle, the concept of the title by me, and named by Kholdstare89. This is quite the fitting title since this is a prelude to Chrono Cross. :p

Chrono Trigger: Prelude to a Dream RPGMaker Project / Upcoming Title Change
« on: February 05, 2011, 09:26:09 pm »
Hello all! I've been speaking with the team, and we all feel 'CT2: Time's Eclipse' didn't fit the bill.

I won't reveal the new title just yet, but we're pretty close on getting it finalized. I will tell you that the '2' has been removed.

Hope to reveal it before Wednesday. Until then, Compendium. :D

Hey guys! Quick question. Now, most of you saw how you can change windowskins for textboxes. This may look bug free, it does NOT change the layout in battle. The main windows remain red, while the mid-left windows for selecting commands change.

Now, here are the two options.

#1:
Deal with it. The system will look like this:

#2:
Eliminate the Face-Based layout, and use a more FFVI-ish layout, shown here with a changed windowskin:

If we switch, the AutoBattle function will be removed.

Which one do YOU, the fans, prefer?

Hello there! Lance here, leader of Overture Studios, the studio responsible for Chrono Alter, Trigger 2, and Shift!

In 2009, development on a game called Chrono Alter began. The game put Crono and co. in a brand new world, and was a side game to the main Chrono series. In my honest opinion, the game was not that great. However, it opened to the doors to a new realm of possibilities. The possibility that we as fans could gather together and continue the series we so love in our own way.

This idea would drastically affect my further game design and story writing. When I finally put the final coding into Alter, something felt... unfinished. I felt as if I needed to keep going, but I knew Alter's story was finished. During the stage of beta testing, I began to think of a sequel, not just to Alter, but to Chrono Trigger as well. So, I drafted a sequel that was named Chrono Echoes, based on Crimson Echoes.

Since then, Echoes has completely transformed into Chrono Trigger 2: Time's Eclipse. From here, I realized that Overture Studios had begun a series of Chrono titles. Overture had created it's own story. Soon after, Mr. Bekkler's Chrono Shift was added to the timeline.

Now, I will announce the future of this series. All together, Overture will create FOUR fan games. The Overture Timeline is as follows:
Chrono Shift
Chrono Trigger
Chrono Alter
Chrono Trigger 2: Time's Eclipse
Chrono Cross
CHRONO VI

Four fan games, two official games. This would bring Overture's series to a total of six tales. All of these games are connected. Characters from CT2 will appear in Chrono Shift, Shift characters will appear in CT2. CT2 will introduce characters from Chrono VI, all while explaining things from Cross.

The title for the final game has yet to be decided on, but the game will follow shortly after Cross. There will be many hints to C6 in CT2 and in Chrono Shift.

This is a massive undertaking, and we thank you for the support all of the other fans have given us. We will continue to ask for your advice and support as we finish this series.

We sincerely hope you will enjoy these new games. Thank you.

-Lance VII, Leader of Overture Studios

Chrono Trigger: Prelude to a Dream RPGMaker Project / First Boss Battle

And yes, it fights like you'd expect it to.

So, I tinkered with the Stats to make them more along the lines of Chrono Trigger. Here are the results for Crono:

HP Cap: 999
MP Cap: 99
Everything Else Cap: 99 without equipment/Tabs.

Weapons will play a bigger role in the stats of characters as it did in CT. Around 90% of the items from CT are in CT2 with the majority retaining their original effect.

The only concern I have is that you will not achieve 999/99 until level 99. By the time the game ends, your characters should be between 600-700Hp and 60-75Mp.
