Site Updates / Re: Cease & Desist Letter
« on: May 24, 2009, 10:57:51 pm »
I actually just dove right in; I read the Encyclopedia a lot, and I peered on the forums for the first time a week ago and signed up. I liked what I saw. Also, Faust brings up a really valid point; I know we aren't supposed to create any more crazy conspiracy theories, but it's perfectly possibly he is a member here. Perhaps his username here is just completely different?
As for banned IPs, I was admin at a forum, and I know banned members could not view the forum, even as a guest; unfortunately, peskier users would use IP scramblers and manage to get around the IP ban to view the forum as a guest, or even register another account.

Site Updates / Re: Straight Talk Express with the Compendium...Next Stop: Truth
« on: May 24, 2009, 09:44:57 pm »I disagree on Boo's last part of his comment, our future is unpredictable, we may even see the fall of compendium.I know I am a mere newbie, but I have to say I disagree with this. There is certainly more to the Compendium than CE; I actually joined here after the "CE Debacle" and had no idea of the game's existence. It had no motivation in my reason for joining. I'm sure the release of CE was a major factor for excitement and a highlight of the forum, but the Compendium certainly stands strong without it. It offers a lot of things for Chrono fans; I joined here to read plot analysis and to get a firmer grasp on my understanding of the Chrono series. Also, just to be around other Chrono fans who understood my little obsession and could discuss things related to it. I really don't think this place is going anywhere... also, you never know, the "Day of Lavos" here on the forums might just have a happy ending!

I'm one of the lost people as well; I suppose it's because I'm so new to the community. By the time I had joined, all signs of CE existing on here had been removed. But let me see if I have this straight: basically, there is some evidence that this "Alienat0r" person sent false/unreliable information to Square-Enix in order to have the game shut down prematurely? Namely the false assumptions that the creators claimed a copyright to CE and that you were going to make a profit from it?

General Discussion / Re: The $%*! frustration thread
« on: May 23, 2009, 07:49:42 pm »Yeah, I was an Allison fan myself. At least it makes me feel better because Adam and Allison will make tons of records and Kris will fade into obscurity. The first words he said after he won were "Adam should have won", which really should tell you something.I was a big Allison fan as well; she truly could "sing her face off", as Randy liked to put it! I was really hoping it'd be Adam and Allison in the final. To me, they were clearly the best singers in the bunch. Kris is a really nice guy, though, and definitely has some talent. Nonetheless, it should have gone to Adam. At least it's good that Kris and Adam are such true friends; it really impresses me how much class both of them have.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Gender differences of enemies?
« on: May 23, 2009, 07:10:14 pm »
Wow, I was actually wondering what purpose the enemy genders had - this helps explain a lot. I do wonder if the stats are altered as well; it'd be interesting to find out! If it follows the format of nearly every RPG out there, the males probably have more strength/defense and the females magic/magic defense.
Random, but does anyone know if there was a connection between each character's frame and their RES/EVD?

« on: May 19, 2009, 08:54:18 pm »It's always funny finding out what people really look like. Zelbess is smoking hot, assuming that's actually her and she's really not some 40 year old virgin basement hermit dude.Hey now, you have it all wrong; I am a 39-year-old unemployed hermit virgin basement man. Kidding aside, yes, that's really me. Thank you for the compliment!
Also, Daniel Kripsin has fantastic hair. I like the frames as well!

With the beard, Kebrei reminds me a little bit of a young Richard Karn. He has a nice babyface!
Also, no worries, IAmSerge. I'm sure everyone was just being facetious.

« on: May 18, 2009, 10:36:52 am »By posting those pictures in the pictures thread, Zelbess, you are going to become the new Compendium 'favorite'.Oh goodness, definitely not my intention. I'm usually quite reluctant about posting my pictures, but the people at the CC seemed very mature and welcoming; quite different from many forums I've been to. I'm a bit of a visual person and love being able to put a face to a name, so I like to offer people the same liberty when I feel comfortable with it.
I think you posted that first picture just to make all the boys swoon!
(just kidding)
Oh, btw, Zelbless, you have been officially invited to get on the IRC.I'll have to check it out sometime. I've actually never been on an IRC before. Thanks for the invite!
Its totally a private members only kind of thing...
...well, not really. But you have been invited!

General Discussion / Re: Summer Plans
« on: May 18, 2009, 10:32:09 am »
In terms of finding it hard to receive employment, I'm in the same boat. I've worked most of my summers since I turned 16, so I have a lot experience; nonetheless, it seems no one wants to hire. It might correlate with the minimum wage raise we're getting in Texas soon. I'd return to the places I've already worked, but I want to try something new and hope for managers of the sane variety this time around.
I'm 18 and I go to UNT.UNT you say? Up in Denton? I've actually been there quite a few times, as well as the Texas Woman's University; I go up there a lot for Women's Choir Festival. The women I've met from there have all been very friendly and welcoming.
For the summer, I intend to have lots of fun, and to get a job (finally! Graah)
Otherwise, since I am living at home for the summer, my mom is going to nag me about it constantly.
I would also like to do a bit of everything... though I don't plan on doing too much outside... Texas summer = hot... usually. but not always.

Wow, thank you! I'm insanely flattered. I do have a tendency to look a bit like a wax figure out in natural daylight, mainly because I am so radioactively pale. Also, thank you for letting me know that bumping is completely okay. Definitely a good thing to know! I'm trying (most likely in vain) to get through my first 15 posts without a typical newbie mistake, haha.

I suppose it helps to put a face to a name, so here I am:
This was taken by my sister; contrary to what it looks like, I am not naked in this photo. I was wearing a sleeveless blouse and a pair of jeans; they just didn't make it into the frame.
My best friend and I, taking silly pictures in the mirror. (Her face is blackened out for her privacy.) The bathroom lighting is just awful, isn't it?
Edit: I also apologize if bumping a thread a page back is against the rules!
