How so?  I don't really know much about time travel, I must admit.

Polling / 4/16/05 - Which is your favorite Green-innate CC character?

It was a tough choice, because Karsh and Glenn are just so awesome, but I had to go and choose Karsh.  He was just plain badass.

I'll have to side with a bunch of people and say Kid.  She's one of my favorite characters.

I have both the CT cart and FF Chronicles, CC, the CC OST, and a Serge and then a Leena keychain.  Pretty small, I must say.

Well, here's how it looks in the game:

I tried to make it a little more clear, but I think I failed:

I'm surprised CuteLucca hasn't said anything yet about the CT tattoo she's planning on getting.

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Crono's Cat?

This is an idea I've been throwing around for years now, since one of my original times playing through the game.  In a few different places, you'll notice that a plain looking cat just...comes in.  In Ozzie's Fort in 600 AD, the cat comes in and flicks the switch that sends Ozzie plummeting to his doom.  Or to his basement.  Either way.  Also, I believe that you also see the cat in either the Tyrano Lair or Giant's Claw.  Something prehistoric related. I don't remember if the cat pops up anywhere else.

Well, I originally thought that person the cat could be the Entity (this was more jokingly thought, however) or a tool of the Entity.  Since it has the same sprite as Crono's cat, I just kind of figured that it was.

Earlier today, while playing, though, another thought popped into my mind:  If it is Crono's cat, could it possible be because of the ending in which Crono's cat jumps through a gate?  (And then his mom, heh.)  From that point, could his cat have wandered around through times, thereby effecting previous events?

Now, does anyone remember which gate Crono's cat jumped through in the ending?  It was the last one, correct?  Was the last one leading to 600 AD?  Since I think it is the Giant's Claw where the cat pops up, that would make sense -- both that and Ozzie's fort are located in 600 AD.

What do you guys think?  Plausible or not?

Yeah, but that same FAQ goes on to say in Appendix B:

Quote
     g) NW'U:  Finally, the infamous Japanese name for the creature Nu. In
kana, it is written as a katakana NU followed by a subscripted
katakana U.  So why NWU instead of NUU or NU'U?  Well, there really
is a precedent with the NWU notation.  It turns out that to notate
the "kw" double consonant sound (such as "quake", "queen"), sometimes
the notation would be to use KU followed by a subscripted vowel kana.
Following this line of reasoning, we would then indeed transliterate
NU followed by subscripted U as NWU.  I choose to insert the
apostrophe to attempt to make it clearer that it is NU+U, rather
         than something like syllabic N+U.

This leaves the question of how you'd pronounce "Nwu".  Hyena20
suggests that it is supposed to be unpronouncible as a single
syllable, but I find that I was able to pronounce it as a single
syllable fairly convincingly.  That aside, that sound, or even
something more ordinary like "nawu", would probably be unpronouncible
to the Japanese, since for starters the Japanese don't have a real
"wu" sound at all, even in classical Japanese.  So most likely many
Japanese would try to pronounce it as just NUU (that is, NU followed
by a normal U), since that is readily pronouncible for the Japanese,
and is what the kanas look like anyway.

So, either way, it would still be prounounced like "Nu," just with a longer U-sound.

There are tons of random things like that, though.  In Zeal Palace, if you turn of either layer 2 or 3, I think, you can see Queen Leene just chilling out in the doorways.  I don't think the hidden things under the layers mean too much.  ...It would be cool if they did, though -- especially Schala.

Crying Mountain
Saiko

It starts out with the normal music for Singing Mountain, before moving into a more upbeat tune that's kinda techno-y and synth-y.  It's short but sweet, and a good rendition of a song that I wish had been used.

Jethro and Vash at the Fair
djpretzel

Probably my favorite CT remix, Jethro and Vash at the Fair is really unique and really refreshing, because it stands apart so much from most other remixes.  It's a remix of the Millennial Fair music.  It starts off with an acoustic guitar, eventually leading into an almost psuedo-Western style.  It almost reminds me a little bit of CC's music in Termina in places.  It's a pretty sweet song.

Time Chill
mv

This chill remix of Time Curcuits is appropriately titled. It's a kinda hip-hoppy song with some jazz mixed in, and is very fluid.  Reeaally chill.  My only complaint is that is just kind of...ends.

Another Inspiration
Scott Peeples

This one reminds me a lot of Reiterated Inspiration, on the CD Squaredance, just without the sexy voices.  Even without 'em, this is an awesome remix of At the Dream's Shore - Another World.  It's just a really relaxing, calm piece.

Just Chill
The Pancake Chef

I love how this remix of Predicament flows.  It makes me want to drum along with my fingers.  It kinda has a hip-hoppy beat, and is kinda synthy at times.  A really good remix overall, with a good mixture of sounds and beats.

Radical Punks
Ailsean

An awesome remix of Radical Dreamers.  Then again, it's Ailsean -- what else can you expect?  It's almost like Nikki decided to jam out and take over this song.  It's punkish and the guitar sounds great.

Anywho, hope that works.
