Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Which boss did you have the most difficulty defeating?
« on: December 12, 2008, 02:14:26 pm »
It was the Golem Sisters for me until I remembered that the water counter attack was the weakest. Dream Devourer was difficult the first time, but now it's a piece of cake. Crimson Shade was difficult because my Lucca had been dangerously behind on tech learning.

History, Locations, and Artifacts / Re: Planet wide Ice age for 64,988,000 years?

Even though that fact stands, the facts of multiple ice ages is indisputable. Whether or not Wikipeida is a credible source the fact still stands. I have to agree with yujinishuge. If Lavos, a creature around the same size of the domes, if not smaller could create a 65 million year ice age with just his crash landing, then the meteorite that created the Gulf of Mexico which is thousands of times the size of Lavos, which by chance occurred 65 million years ago, would have also created an ice age, which by that logic would mean that it would still be effect today. Do you see blocked out skies, hundreds of miles of ice covering UK, most of the USA, frozen oceans surrounding use northen hemisphere dwellers?
If Lavos used his powers to create the ice age, why would he ever end it, all life would have survived perfectly fine in frozen climates for millions of years by that logic. If they could survive that long why not till the day Lavos surfaces in 1999AD?

History, Locations, and Artifacts / Re: Planet wide Ice age for 64,988,000 years?
« on: December 11, 2008, 02:41:37 pm »To quote the Wikipedia article on the ice age, "There have been at least four major ice ages in the Earth's past". We never see that multi millon year gap between these two ages, and probably never will see it, who's to say that like Earth it didn't suffer numerous ice ages before the one which existed at the time of Zeal. The Zeal ice age and the one which is beginning in Ayla's time after Lavos' arrival could easily be seperate ice ages. The Chrono world had multiple ice ages.
Just as it was with "yujinishuge" so shall it be with you.
Simply put, back it up or take it down. The choice is yours.

I base my opinion off the facts of the real world. The Chrono world had multiple ice ages.

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Re: I don't understand King Guardia
« on: December 10, 2008, 05:04:55 pm »
Some people are immune to the meddeling of time travellers. This would be proven by the fact that Ayla is the ancestor of Marle's line and knows this. This would mean her and Kino's child would be protected in order to ensure Guardia's exsistence. The same would be said for the Time Egg chapter. Chrono sacrifices himself so that that Schala can save Magus and the two following him at the time. When they change time to save him, his sacrifice would've allowed them to escape thus they would be dead in his place. Guardia could be immune to the changes thus his memories would remain unaltered. Even the castle guards question wheter or not the treasure vault was there before.

I think the simple golden rule of NPCs. All NPCs must be stupid and unhelpful at almost all times. The rule applies to Final Fantasy, Zelda, Dragon Quest, Fable etc. So why wouldn't it apply to the Chrono series. If they programmed in original dialouge for every character which could affect the story in certain ways, a normal SNES cartridge wouldn't have been enough to store it all. But, it can be amusing to take advantage of their single digit IQs.

Polling / Re: If they re-released Chrono Cross...
« on: December 08, 2008, 04:19:59 pm »
I would say the most important thing would be that it gets a PAL version, so people like me may have the chance to play Chrono Cross. They're (claiming that they'll be) correcting their mistake with Chrono Trigger. So, as long as it gets a DS, Wii or 360 re-release I'm not bothered by what they add. But, the extras they put in should be similar to CTDS, becasue it was great to see a completed ending log.

Hi, I'm Daniel. I've been a fan of Chrono Trigger for years, and have played many fan projects like Crimson Echoes and Hard Type. It took me a while but I finally got around to joining this forum.
