Happy birthday to ME!!! All I want is for someone to tell me that Bad Teacher isn't a real movie.  Birthdays can be strange, lonely experiences.  I feel good today, though.  Things are going right.  No need a for a list this go round, let's just sum it up with a

General Discussion / Storytelling in Video Games

I read this earlier this morning and was absolutely intrigued.  It's about the changes, and subsequent struggles, that storytelling in games and quite frankly everything is dealing with.

Welcome / Birthday / Seeya! Forum / What Can YOU Do In 2 Years?
« on: December 07, 2010, 04:42:28 pm »
Two years ago today I was living alone in a massive metropolis where I kinda sorta knew 3 other people.  I was...less than thrilled with the current situation, immediately found myself going crazy over hacking and just everything this place had.  I didn't even know shit like this could exist.  Obviously much has changed both here and for me personally.  In the last 2 years I've

Honed my craft like some seriousnessness
Come reeeeal close to some measure of success in "the business"
Made it onto Cable TV for an episode of 1000 Ways To Die
Grinding standup comedy, made it to the Main Room of The Comedy Store as well as several other Clubs
Come real close to meeting a special layday, muffed it Vintage Shee Style
Had a gun in my face against my will
Raised chickens (we have 6 now), an experience that's been so rewarding it deserves it's own post
Been part of a very fledgling Online Comedy Group
Waited HOURS to do comedy shows and never get on stage
Invite women I'm crazy about to my shows and then they come with another dude
Dealt with bailers, liars, and flakes
I now know what traffic is
Blown shit up for kids and gotten paid for it
Babysit children wearing a lab coat and gotten paid for it
Eaten enough bowls of shit from the science fucks to leave them
Put some of those damn movie synchs on DVD (a 6 year process, people!)
Let out approx. 87,561 "Sheeeeeit"s
Worried.  A lot.
Absolutely bombed onstage
Absolutely crushed onstage
Met another layday, we'll see how it goes
Got a free comedy show tonight in a pizza joint 25 miles outside of Hollywood.  Blowin up!

SO WHAT CAN YOU DO IN TWO YEARS?  A SHEEEEIT-TON!  HERE'S TO GETTING TWICE AS MUCH ACCOMPLISHED IN THE NEXT TWO!!!!!

General Discussion / We Lost A Good One

Just heard about Leslie Nielsen passing.  A lil crushed.  He was a bit of an idol for me.  I remember seeing him in this turrible Z-Grade Sci-Fi flick (The Forbidden Planet) and I was blown away that it was him.  There was the man who had made me laugh so haard I cried before, even though technically it was after. :D

I know I'll miss him.

Welcome / Birthday / Seeya! Forum / Berfday...again?
« on: June 24, 2010, 05:39:59 pm »
Didn't I JUST post about hittin 24?  Alas, now the munber is 25, and birthdays are always that violent cross between jubilation and regret.  Maybe not regret, just the loss of the past and aaaaaallllllthat entails.  This one is no different.  Busy as 10 jams today, so most of the celebrating will be tomorrow.
I'll save the babblin' on life in general for the SOY thread a lil later when the time is ample.

Welcome / Birthday / Seeya! Forum / 1 year later
« on: December 07, 2009, 03:40:51 pm »
So I've been here for a year now.....what?  Pretty crazy when I look back....let's see...I was inbetween class sessions and I was 2 months into my stay in LA when I found this site.  Instantly got into hacking, and now since the C&D it's been quite the cahnge of gears, at least for me.  Hmmmm....since joining, I:

Found a new home
Had my best comedy show ever
Raising chickens
Robbed at gunpoint
"Vintage Shee" significant other moments
Signed with an agent
Came so close I could damn near taste a feature role in a feature length film, only to have dodged a massive bullet.
Came damn close to a national Arby's commercial
Finally got a handle on The Program That Must Not Be Named, even if it was a little late.
Massive improvement in guitar whilst maintaing already-established awesomeness on the drums.
Learned how independent ya gotta be to have success out here...here's to another year of mostly ups and less downs!

And it culminates with my firest ever voiceover audition today......sheeeeeit....living proof that if you can dream it, you can do it....that's all only a year...imagine what can be done in 5!  10!

Alas, I have hit the age of 24 today.  Don't feel old, though I should.  I need to take better care of myself.  Anyway, the day has been blessed thus far and I figured I'd share the love with y'all, because I love this place.

Submissions / CE Tribute
« on: June 06, 2009, 04:41:10 am »
This began as a remix many moons ago.  I orinially wrote it on piano, then transposed that into Reaon, then added some more instruments on the program.  The rest of the details are on the video page.  I hope you guys enjoy it, this is as good as a time as any.

General Discussion / The Compendium Family
« on: March 24, 2009, 08:09:26 pm »
Okay I admit it...I'm a little bored right now...

So I came up with an idea, to map out the Compendium Family.  Now this is only my take, and YOUR input will be needed, because essentially everyone here is my senior in some fashion.  SO, this is based on the time that I have spent here (the months pass quickly!) from the general personalities that come through posts and what people have done for the site etc. etc. etc.

I'm SURE people will be left out and all that, so that's why I want input!

The Compendium Family

Pops:  Zeality
Ma: Teaflower
Granpappy:  Faust
Uncle Ted:  Ramsus
Aunt Dagmar:  Schala
Flanders:  Temporal Knight
The Creepy Neighbor:  V
The Friendly Mailman:  Boo
Town Eccentric:  Daniel Krispin
The Hippie Across The Street:  Crono Eric
The Guy That Steals Zeality's Newspaper Every Morning:  Idioms
The Guy Who Accidentally Honks His Horn At 6AM And Wake Everyone Up At Least Twice A Week:  FouCaptain
The Local Garage Band:  Hypernerd, Tact, Asafiagow
Town Drunk:  Shee
Local News Team:  Thought, Justin, Onslaught
Cameramen:  Vehek, Mauron

That's all I've got for now...let me know whatcha think!

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Shee's CC diary
« on: January 19, 2009, 06:17:20 pm »
So I'm playing CC for the first time.  I decided I'm going keep a lil diary of what's going on here and my reactions for y'all.  And umm...so we go!

For starters, this game is fucking depressing from events to music.  I like it!
I do love most of the music and the chrarcters seems to be cool, with the exception of Poshul who I should of put into a meat grinder.  I've checked out a FAQ a couple times when I was stuck.  Good to know I'm muffin' the crap out of all sorts of sheeit.  I took Guile to Viper manor, took kid right away (so no Leena I guess?  dumb broad don't even know me.....) and also chose to help save Kid.  When in the Hydra Marshes, I did all the dwarf/Hydra stuff first then followed the fairy, who WASN'T EVEN THERE ANYMORE when I went through all that sheeit to get the flute and whatnot.  LAMES BOND!  Alas, movin' on though.

Guile, is this or is this not Magus?  I read that the story of it all was taken out but, is he still Magus?  He is in my mind.

Serge seems to be pretty cool, but I liked the super heroic silent protaganist thing better the first time when he was called Crono..........

General Discussion / Movie Synchs?...Sincs?...I'll explain
« on: December 19, 2008, 05:21:57 am »
Movie Synchs(sp?) are when an album plays along with a movie.  Probably the most famous of these is The Wizard of Oz and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.  Others I have seen are Alice in Wonderland and Pink Floyd's The Wall, Snow White and The Beatles' White Album, The Matrix and Radiohead's Kid A, Back To THe Future with Alan Parson Project's Time Machine (epic), Signs with Alan Parsons Project's A Valid Path, and Total Recall with Radiohead's Amnesiac.  Don't ask me how to do any of these as I don't know the details..too many years, beers, experiments ago.  But I can always ask someone I know I spose.

Starting back then (a good few years ago...4? 5? ) I started creating my own, based off songs I had and one I would write.  Is there a way to get that audio from my playlist  and synch it with the movie playing so it's together as one file.

Also, for those interested, I can put the playlists on here and make the songs you wouldn't have (my own, etc.).

COMPLETED MOVIES:

1. Jurassic Park:  My baby.  The first, and sole reason why I started doing this.  Incerdibly hard to line up correctly, as I didn't plan properly.  However, I still love it.  It was, is easily the most ambitious one.  I really went hard for motifs within the songs, recurring charcters and bands together.  The result was some beautiful work and some admittedly boring sections.  Artists include (but are not limited to):  Gilberto Gil, Live, Soundgarden, Sergei Profokiev, Super Furry Animals, DJ Shadow...

2. The Boondock Saints:  (Watching this movie a billion times while compiling this made me realzie how epically B-rate this movie is...)  A little more gratuitous, easily enjoyable.  There are some moments where there is a certain calmness to the fast action going on..and others where I personally underastand, but the viewer might have to watch a few times to catch on to either what I wanted, or what suits them.  Artists include (but are not limited to):  The Gap Band, Nine Inch Nails, NFL Films (you read that correctly), DJ Shadow, Sigur Ros, Handsome Boy Modeling School (with very fantasic guests)...

UNFINISHED, BUT NEARLY FINISHED PROJECT:

Batman Begins:  Begun some time ago, I wanted to finish before Dark Knight came out but hit some blocks.  Now I'm 80%finished and nearly done.  Easily the best of the three, even if it's unfinished.  has one scene that didn't come out how I wanted.  The rest....quite frankly I am very proud of.  Artists include (but are not limited to):  The Music, Megadeth, bLiNd, Audix (you read those correctly), The Soundtrack Of Our Lives, Ice Cube.

Dj Shadow, The Chemical Brothers, and a few others appear in all 3 movies, but not the same songs.

Depending on interest and info I get I'll go through the trouble of posting the playlists.

Chrono Trigger Modification / New Project for Shee
« on: December 18, 2008, 12:01:20 am »
Okay all, it appears as if I'm ready to lay down the framework for my comedy hack for a friend.  I'm  actually not too worried about changing enemy names, as this is *NOT* very battle heavy.  The main concern here at the beginning is getting to the locations I want to use.  Right now I am trying to have it where you get Crono's cat to meow and then you get warped somewhere.  I can't seem to figure it out....

*Does anyone know how to make this happen?  I've tried the ChangeLocation command, but I don't know if I'm setting up incorrectly or not activating it right...i can really do anything until I figure this out.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
