Crimson Echoes / Music Rearranging
« on: July 16, 2005, 01:03:02 pm »
It's cool...however, it seems all that was done was changing some instruments and some octaves.  Nothing really "rearranging"-wise, if you know what I mean.

Is there any program or way to make your own SPC files, like making a MIDI and then converting it to SPC?  That would be way cooler, and then we could make custom songs as well.

Site Updates / Chrono Cross Script Released
« on: July 10, 2005, 10:06:11 am »
I REALLY would like to read the Chrono Cross script, REALLY, I would, but I think I should play the game first.  That might help me a bit.

Site Updates / New Chrono Crisis Screens!
« on: July 08, 2005, 05:42:48 pm »
I love the Chrono Crisis logo.  It looks so awesome.

Also, I had always liked the character sketches, and with color they're very professional.  Well done.

As for Reuben Kee's updated piece...I have nothing to say other than it totally shatters my apprehensions about adding to the song.  It exceeds even my best expectations.  Listen to it now.

General Discussion / What exactly IS a rom?!
« on: July 08, 2005, 05:09:58 am »
We can't really discuss where to find ROMS online, 'cause they're essentially illegal, but basically, it's a file that acts as the game in question.  Find a Chrono Trigger ROM, open it with an SNES emulator (which acts as a Super Nintendo) and then start playing.

Best thing about emulators and ROMS is not that they're free, but most emulators have cheat systems, background layering, and instant saves built-in.

Google the word "emuasylum" and everything will become clear. :)

P.S. It's surprising - nay, nigh impossible - that in this day and age, somebody doesn't know what a ROM is.  I'm amazed.

Japanese tenth; yeah we released some stuff. Right now Chrono Symphonic wants to debut on the 29th, and since the Compendium's closely tied to it, it can easily pass for our big event. However, site projects aren't always reliable concerning deadlines...so I don't have anything else lined up, really, that's groundbreaking. Unless the CE demo comes out or something.

27th actually.  It's September 27th, 2005, not the 29th.  But whatever.

I was looking at your site (www.chronosymphonic.com) and I looked at the CT movie script, did you make it?

he seems well done and I was wondering making a WHOLE Chrono Script for a orchestral representation seems like they have a large group working on that.

Yes, I did write the script, and yes, we do have a large team working on it.  Check out the Remixers section of the website to see everyone involved.

Also, thank you for the compliment.  It's appreciated. :)

Man, such a great song. That was well done, what program do you use to make movies?

Windows movie maker or adobe premier.

I believe he was asking me...but anyway...

I used Video Edit Magic 3, a simple but effective tool.  Not many options when it comes to effects, but it worked.

General Discussion / The Ballad of Cyan Garamonde
« on: July 06, 2005, 07:18:48 pm »
Damn, dude.  That's one hell of a long poem for a secondary character.  However, I guess there was that much story to tell, and told it was.

Good writing.  There were a few points that seemed a bit awkward, like the rhyme scheme was forced, but for 29 stanzas of Olde English literature, that's damn fine craftsmanship.

Excellent work.  Now I have to replay FF6 and concentrate more on the black-haired protector of Doma.

After watching the trailer, a few question if I may:

1. Is the cd going to be released along with some kind of a short movie?
Because the trailer was mainly composed out of cut-sences from the PS version of CT.....
I guess not, but just making sure. ;)

2. I noticed that many of the people who are working on the project are well known from  OCRemix and VGMix and have contributed many great works on the past.

Are we expected to get completly orchestral scores or some of the tracks have already been released on OCRemix / VGMix in the past?

1. The trailer may or may not be on the two-CD set that is up for download...it depends on whether or not the downloader wants it.  I don't think we'll be including it in the main torrent file, however, due to space considerations for 28/56k users.  But no, there is no "movie" being released, despite various claims.

2. Yes they are great (even the unknown ones, trust me :)) and yes, each track will be orchestral, or at least, instrumental only.  No electronica here.  Additionally, one of the songs on the project was already on OCR, and another was posted on VGMix a while before the project started.  They just worked so well with the script that I asked for their inclusion.
