Good stuff--the Haunted House one is especially good.

I just found my DVD copy of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show yesterday--eerie timing. Rest in peace; you were a beloved character in my childhood.

Very cool! I love the style--sharp edges, clear style. Good, good. Your wife did a great job making him look like a noble and a skilled swordsman.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Cross Recollections

Hmm, I remember going to a friend's house and he quickly wanted to show off how amazing the PS1 was, so he loaded his newest game (which was Chrono Cross, of course) and showed us the intro. I was blown to shreds by the music and graphics, so I sat and watched him play through it for a bit. He was demonstrating the mechanics of the game, not the story, but I had a keen interest in finding out why this blue haired guy was going to stab his teammate. So within the next couple days I headed to Toys R Us and bought it around Thanksgiving time--a gift from myself to myself. I played through it for hours. To this day I consider it the most addictive game I own. I played through the Thanksgiving break and continued playing it through December.

I fondly remember getting a snow day on my birthday that year and trekking through Mt. Pyre. It was a Monday, if I recall correctly. I also remember that I had one save file that my sister and I would play side-by-side--one of us would handle the controls and do the fights while the other supported--and she had me sit there with a calculator to figure out how much total damage we had inflicted on Miguel. I also remember her playing without me once (which was a big no-no) and she did the whole Orlha/Tia sidequest without me. I was pissed. This may have been my first playthrough of the game, but I can't quite recall. All I know is that this was the only game (other than Super Mario Bros. 3) that my sister and I played together. It was a highly engrossing game...I picked it up for the 20th time this year, played up till I turned into Lynx and quit. All I wanted to do was see where Lynx's alternate portrait was used; I used it as an excuse for an extended playthrough.

Fan Fiction / Re: Chrono Helix (script)

Heheh, I think you have a knack for fitting these characters together within your current framework; Skelly will be no exception.

Anyhow, this was a pretty good read. It didn't seem strange, all the characters sounded natural, and the plot definitely seems to be headed in the right direction. Great job.

I've been too busy to be around as often as I'd like, but I just had to stop by to say that chapter was fantastic. A good touch of humor when we needed it. I have a feeling the next chapter is gonna blow us all away...

Keep it up.

Marle looks so cute. While it may not fit, this is positively creative fan art. The Magus-lever image is phenomenal.

Holy crap! The blue on the hair is a little too bright for me, but that action figure is so epic. Great great great job!

And rightfully so: this fanfic has really given CC a whole new feel. I wouldn't mind seeing this as a game or an audio drama...or even a wicked flash series. Hell, I'm willing to read it, so that really says something about its quality!

Polling / Re: Music Video Perception
« on: September 11, 2009, 10:18:18 pm »
Do official videos alter my perception of the song? Of course they do. I mean, taking Thriller or some of the quintessential Michael Jackson videos, for instance, I always find that the videos enhance the song to a whole new level. It's a completely different event--occasionally videos and the song's lyrics have nothing to do with each other, so I'm left with this interesting little piece of cinema to experience. I personally have never found a video that has absolutely no effect on how I look at a song...Though some videos do heighten songs, I'm sure I could find a few that just about ruin 'em...But nonetheless all these videos to alter my experience in some way, shape, or form.

Whoa...I'm glad to see you made it out okay, Zeality. Driving was a chore this morning for me too--I think I saw a van that had nearly careened off the hill on the service road. Stupid highway with its terrible on-ramps and off-ramps, lane shortages, bustling traffic, and inane Denton drivers.

Anyway...
