Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Want a new Chrono game?

I don't think that completely limits the idea of a Cross Remake/Port. I believe Mitsuda and Kato were both freelancers when Trigger received its port.

Well, I made that statement that Cross was better than VP through reviews that I have read. If Cross received a port, I would think it would get new dialogue scenes and/or FMV's. They would have to add some new things.

Of course. Chrono Cross is much better than half of the games that SE remakes, like Valkyrie profile. If you go to the game rankings site, Cross is number 128th for all of the games made so far. Trigger is 13th. That isn't half as bad, considering the fact that Cross beats some of the FF's. I just say give SE some time, if they remake games like Secret of Mana and whatnot, they have to remake gems like Cross.
It would be nice if they graphically revamped Cross in addition to some voice actors (like what they did with FFIV). Although it would be rather difficult to voice some of the characters. >.>

I can grant you that there is a big fan base in Japan for Cross. Everyday, there is a new fan art on Pixiv or playthrough/walkthrough videos on Nico Nico. Plus there is a bunch of Japanese fan sites for Cross as well.

Well, we can be certain that Square will probably remake Cross first. I know this is kind of far-fetched, but the Chrono Trigger ending hinted at Chrono Cross. Besides, what if a person played Chrono Trigger series for the first time on the DS? That person would want to know what happens to the gang after Crono and Marle get threatened by Dalton and Magus looses his memories. A remake/port of Cross would bridge the two together, and clear out the contradictions in the Cross plot and hopefully have a better ending. Then if the reception is good enough, then a new game would most likely appear.

I was hoping for a remake. I presume that Square Enix will do a remake because of the CT:DS Dream Devourer ending.

It was not anything too interesting, it was just Kid embracing Serge with the 10th anniversary logo above them. Do you think Square is going to do something for Cross since it's its Anniversary?

« on: November 17, 2009, 10:15:11 pm »
I just went on Pixiv a few hours ago and discovered that some artists sent in pictures that were celebrating Chrono Cross's Tenth Anniversary. This means that Japan is celebrating the year turn-over of Chrono Cross's Japanese release date right? Chrono Cross's anniversary for America does not come till later correct?

The first true RPG that I played was either Final Fantasy 4 or Chrono Trigger.
I never finished both sadly (more for Trigger than Final Fantasy >:] ).

According to any sensible dictionary, an anecdote does not refer to one's actual experience of an event, but to the account of an event, whether or not the event ever really occurred and whether or not the person giving the anecdote actually experienced the event.
The topic creator misused the word. Yeah, I kinda realized that once I posted that. I should really stop staying up late. @_@

Since Halloween is drawing near, write about some of the creepy anecdotes you've experienced sometime in your life. For instance, a few weeks ago, I was playing the game Yume Nikki home alone one night. I was at the point in the game where the main character meets with Poniko/Uboa (Uboa is the creepy black thing with the white Noh mask). In order to activate the Uboa event, one must repeatedly go into Poniko's house and switch the light switch on and off. A few seconds after I activated the Uboa event, there was a sudden power outage, so the power in my house shut off and all the lights were turned off as well. I was alone in the dark. I was so freaked out, I rushed outside.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Does Anyone Think There Will Be A Chrono Cross Remake?
« on: August 26, 2009, 01:22:33 am »
I don't think that Cross would work well on the DS personally. =/
The most likely thing that will happen is a PSP remake with graphic enhancing additions, extra dialogue/new cutscenes, maybe a new character, new dungeon, etc.
This is a stretch, but I think a Cross would be awesome as a PS3 remake. But, as I said before, it will eventually get a PSP remake in the near future.

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Re: Explain Serge's Silence.
« on: June 12, 2009, 01:35:58 am »
My hypothesis is actually correct in one of the Chrono Cross FMV's. After Serge and Lynx switch bodies and when Lynx/Serge stabs Kid, Serge/Lynx seems like he is calling Kid's name and is very upset after the incident. He showed a ton of unique personality there.
