Chrono Trigger Modification / Re: Crimson Echoes Plus

I would have to redo an intensive course to contribute, but who knows.

I see, thank  you - I'm not sure I am following entirely, but it's a start, thank you.

Would that be even possible?

Mmm, maybe at a later date. Right now I just want to get it out. But replacing black omen tiles would be fun. So thanks again, I'll try it at a later date.

Chrono Cross style looks great!

Why thank you very much! But what is the advantage of this compared to screenshot since, in the end, I'd also have to screenshot?

Howdy there,
I'm not sure this has been already asked in recent times, but how is it possible to view the animations of tiles in temporal flux and how to export the whole tileset (I seem to recall that this is not possible, but I may be wrong).

I tried getting the files from the PC version, but AFAIK the non-horrible graphics (the original SNES one) are hidden in cgxx.bin files which are, as of today, non-browsable.

Character png appear also quite similar, I have a magus mod installed.

Music and Sfx are, obviously, not similar and handled differently, In an easier way id argue.

Would Temporal Flux, together with plugins, even work there?

Chrono Trigger Modification / How to change STEAM CT music, guide
« on: November 30, 2020, 04:44:49 pm »
So, a quick tutorial on how to change your Steam CT music

You need:

Sounds of Ivalice
CT explore (archived latest, not sure what happened to RiverNyx, but his website doesn't appear online anymore, so thank you!)

  • Locate resources.bin with CTExplorer;
  • Extract the BGM, found under Sound directory;
  • Decide which ones you want to replace and find the replacement;
  • Convert your replacement to WAV, open with wavosaur and create a loop point;
  • Open Sounds of Ivalice, open the original .sab file you want to change, select it, right-click on the audio and select "replace", it will point towards your WAV, replace the file;
  • Use CTExplore to replace the old .sab file with the new one you created;
  • Repack and close, and it should work.

Be mindful that this is only a replacement, it is not possible, as far as I know, to add entirely new music and have it recognised by the game.

EDIT: I also recommend looking at the music file you want to replace in an audio editor, if you have it, and normalize the volume so that the replacement has more or less the same loudness of the original file.

Title. Could you please ELI5 why the steam game is off limits for gameplay mods?

I can give a go at upscale via AI, if required.

Hi Mauron, I'm trying to change the Tech Requirement for Aurawhirl, but it seems that its not working when I'm changing it in Hi-Tech plugin, it seems that even if you change the value it goes back to Marle -> Aura , even if I go in Hex editor and change offset 000C1E5E => 25 (Marle, Crono) to lets say 26 (Lucca, Crono)  it does show in the change in TF but in the game you still learn Aurawhirl once you have Crono Cyclone and Marle Aura tech learn :o
Any tips on that ?

I can't find download link or update on Hi-tech plugin, are you working on it at the moment?
Keep up the good work ! :)

Did you hit the various "write changes" button?

Is it me, or Magus lair is directing to the wrong Hench monster (blue instead of purple) and doesn't list the green roly?

Also, it says that "Dreamless" is a shadow attack. It's not, it has no element.
