Crono followed through the portal just miniutes after Marle right? Yet Marle is already found and safe in the castle acting as Leene.  There is obviously a glitch with time error but thats also the only time-traveling with the telepod I think thats to blame. Since Lucca time traveled with the gate key TE Then took effect on her.

isn't that the same with Magus's/Prophet's case? Although it was not because of the Telepod...

I'd go for Belthasar.. Scientific advancement would be pretty much my forte..

Alright then.. Occam's razor must have applied in the Chronoverse, slashing off other possible altenate realities and leaving behind only home and another...

(or probably the multiverse does not really apply? Could have the "dimensional" split been the result of highly unusual and specialized circumstances, not by probabilistic propositions?? :?)

19
Well, the Entity is a rather clean solution to such problems.  But i don't think that it (the Gates) can be naturally determined.. That would have meant that the Spacetime order in the Chronoverse would be way different from ours..

Actually, all that would mean is that the "Spacetime order" in the Chronoverse fits with good/conventient story telling, rather than the Spacetime order shaping the story. ;)

That's one way to look at it...

20
Now I have a question.. What would have applied to the Chronoverse?
Broj's probabilistic multiverse (Everett's many-worlds hypothesis), that would have meant that there are more than two alternate realities in the Chronoverse other than home and another, or thought's single universe (spacetime created by the big bang) although with a different dimensional arrangement..?? :?

(Sorry to pit you two against each other again)

21
Wow.. You did all of that?
I have not the time to read it all, although I am impressed by such a lengthy insight..

If the gates move during transcension(in any way-implying that movement is not only possible, but in flux) then that would be bad, regardless of how you look at it, the matter/energy structure would not come out the same as when it went in (not a good scenario; id est time and space coordinates must be locked throughout the transition).
Moving on to what you describing now; the momentum(a result of energy) and mass(a weird conundrum of matter) would be the same leaving as entering.

You are implying that ordinary time stops while Crono and Co. are traveling by the Gate through time?
Gates also travel through time, but will remain where and when they are when somebody uses them?
I'm not sure I get that.. :?

Either the Entity determined where the Gurus would end up (giving it some insane foresight...and hindsight in order to save itself) or their locations were arbitrarily determined by nature.  It makes more sense that it would be nature since we're already told about the path of least existence to explain why your party ends up at the End of Time to begin with.

Well, the Entity is a rather clean solution to such problems.  But i don't think that it (the Gates) can be naturally determined.. That would have meant that the Spacetime order in the Chronoverse would be way different from ours..

So, then, what was the telepod made of? No one knows. Dreamstone could be in there, but probably not as that would make Lucca's reaction to processing the dreamstone odd.

Well, that's it then.. There is not enough in-game evidence to support any definitive conclusion..
There are no detailed telepod sprites, no blueprints of the machine, no quotes from either Lucca or the gurus that can be deduced from.. We could speculate all day and not reach a workable solution on the matter..

That assumes that as the planet moves around its axis, the sun, the center of the galaxy, and the center of the universe, it's physical location (that is, its 3-dimensional location) changes. Why are you assuming that?

Imagine you have a sheet of paper that you draw a graph on. On that graph, you mark a point at 2, 2. Then you put that paper in your backpack and walk home. Is that point still at 2, 2? Now you might say that such an example isn't the same, the point did move. To which I say, it moved in 3-dimensions but did that point ever move in its 2-dimensional universe?

Or consider a computer screen. Move your cursor from left to right. Did the diodes of the screen move, or did just the perceived image of the cursor move?

My point is, just because something is moving in relation to over things on a 3-dimensional scale, that doesn't mean that the movement on a 4 dimensional scale is actually significant (or occuring at all).

That is relativity, yes?  But then i thought that a 3-d space is actually moving on a 4-d axis..
If that point 2,2 (in reference to its 2-d universe) moved in its 3-d universe but not its 2-d universe, didn't it still move on its 4-d axis? Then it would become point (2,2)1, while its initial location in reference in its 4-d frame would have been point (2,2)0 ... :?

Don't let my analysis stop you from your own! None of this is canon, everything is still up for debate.

Though, as a side note, I'm out of school so I not longer get those nice summer vacations. Hence, I am always busy with sometime and in turn always slow on everything.

So, you are already working, huh? Oh well, long ways to go for me... And, i think i'll just wait for your analysis. I am rather busy too, and the first wave of exams are coming..

Ok, i was thinking of dimensions in physics... And i now understand your proposition on Home and Another being
different dimensions in a similar Universe (i read your posts on the "Does the DBT exist as a 0th dimension?" thread)..
If I were to follow that, then the DBT is not a tesseract, Home and Another would already be one, wouldn't it??  :?

(But if they were similar dimensions in a single Universe, then doesn't it run counter 'Broj's probabilistic multiverse applies to Chronoverse propositions'??)

But it is said that the Entity was the one who pulled Dragonopolis to counteract Chronopolis, not Lavos/TD. Apparently the Entity reasoning skills aren't the best around: "Gee, Lavos pulled a city from the future back in time in order to change the future so that it might save itself. I have to stop that! I know, I'll change the past of the future EVEN MORE! Its so crazy, it just might work!"

Of course... this implies that the Entity wasn't aware of the TD, or that it might have corrupted Dragonopolis itself. Or that Belthasar was lying (again).

Hehe.. At least the Entity had a pretty good sense of humor..
Although, if the Dragonian dimension came from the DBT, then did the Entity have knowledge of the DBT?

Well, Mother Brain also noted that the Planet will recover, given enough time..
That seems to mean that the Entity will survive, although humans will not...

I generally take the Entity to be a manifestation of the Gaia Hypothesis. The Entity isn't just the planet; it is the life of the planet. If Lavos had fallen on a lifeless world, it might have been able to siphon a little energy, but it is a living planet that provides a banquet. The entity isn't just the rocks and minerals, but also the flora and fauna. Humans, then, are a part of the Entity, similarly as how liver cells are part of the human body.

Thus, as long as the possibility of life is maintained on a planet, the Entity (of that planet) wouldn't die, but it wouldn't be the same creature either. I suspect that Lavos would have left the Entity crippled by its disease, as it were, similarly to how a human might be crippled by a serious illness.

I would agree to that.. The Entity would still be alive, but it would no longer be the Entity we knew...

Um, anything on that article yet, Thought?

Sort of. I had actually forgotten about working on it, until you mentioned it (at which point I face-palmed). I've been working on it, albeit incredibly slowly (I think sediment has begun to form on the file), since. I am actually currently pondering if the changes I am making are significant enough to merit the addition of the phrase "Second Edition."

However, when I do finally get that article ready, there will, at the very least, be three improvements: 1) A discussion on the role of technology (... or monologue, I guess, but in academia monologues are called discussions), 2) actual map overlays (for the section on comparing locations across time), and 3) revised text (correcting spelling and grammar, rephrasing awkward sentences, etc).

Alright.. Still looking forward to it.. I would have tried to do my own analysis if not for the tons of schoolwork i have to face.. I live in the Philippines, where classes just started about a month ago, while you guys in the west are just stretching up for your respective vacations.. In any case, your word would still be better than mine..

Oops, sorry.. was thinking about time in a physical/cosmological sense, i.e. Space and Time distorted by
massive objects, like a black hole, not in from a Time Traveler's perspective. But yeah, there ain't much evidence in game to infer anything definitive...

Instead, Another World became a dimension.
Do you mean new dimension of an already previously existent Universe? A new Universe/alternate reality would be, i think more appropriate..

Although, i do get your point on the Dragonian Dimension/Timeline...
It would seem that TD had easy access to something that he was supposed to destroy in another timeline.. But if that timleline (Dragonian) was from the DBT, then what happened in the Time Crash?  Did Lavos/TD deliberately choose that city to counter-act Chronopolis? Why not other objects from other discarded timelines in the DBT? What would be his motive for doing so?

But then again, there isn't much evidence to answer such questions...

Alright, i get your point.. After all, there is nothing really definitive on the Entity's true nature, but i still agree with the notion that the Planet is the Entity, with the supporting evidences from Chrono Cross, where 'The Planet' and its 'dream' is mentioned a couple of times...
