General Discussion / Re: The 6-Word Story thread.
« on: July 28, 2008, 06:24:42 pm »
This is a very strange topic.

But I imagine it's somewhat amusing.

A question about these six words: are hyphenated words one or two?

...Words, that is, as you knew.

I'll not insult your intelligence, o'course. (O'course is only one word, right? Must try to stay under par!)

Not to brag, but the next CT+ will put the current version to absulote and utter shame.

You made it--you get free bragging rights!

if it were in 3D they would probably eliminate the whole 'battles taking place where you stand' concept

...have you seen Blue Dragon? Made by the same people...and battles take place where you stand.

Have you played it? No they don't.

...I own it. Maybe I just misunderstood what you meant...'cause I tend to do that.

Better than nothing, right?

Yeah, but not better than Baten Kaitos...

You are officially awesome now.

...I'm not sure what the problem is, but the link in the first post (the download link) doesn't work.

The file was taken down.  Zakyrus doesn't want to put it up again, seeing as the next demo is coming out very soon.

Oh, thanks. I don't mind waiting--it sounds very cool!

Hmmm...despite the fact that this topic seems fossilized, I'd still like to ask a question, though if it doesn't get answered due to lack of interest (or because it was already answered elsewhere), I won't feel offended:

Why are we trying to prove whether it's possible for Magus to summon a real-world black hole? The original question was whether Magus had control (however minor) of time or space...isn't it possible that the 'Black Hole' is not a gravity well, but a portal into a void? Perhaps the Darkness Beyond Time (though this isn't likely...considering that there weren't a bunch of random enemies ALSO fused with the Time Devourer))? Magus may or may not know where his 'Black Hole' ends up (or maybe he does, whatever), but has anyone even considered that he might not be summoning a real black hole, but a dark portal of some sort? It seems reasonable that it would be easier to open a portal to nowhere and toss something in than, for example, to open a portal to a specific location/dimension (Lavos' pocket dimension) and to pull out a specific being (Lavos), especially when said being is HUGE...thus explaining why Magus would be able to cast Black Hole in a normal battle, instead of having to prepare a summon.

I'm sure there's lots of holes in that theory...so feel free to point them out. I'd like to know the answer to this question as much as anyone else...

Oh! That helps a lot! Thank you! Let's see if I can get something going in TF now...

565
But if only Schala's information was pulled into the DBT, how could her body be there, as well (unless Lavos/TD created another body?)

Is her body still in 12000 BC? Is she at the bottom of the sea? Somewhere on the Black Omen?

Basically, if Schala's matter was NOT transferred to the DBT, then where is it?

This is rather embarrassing, but...

I would help, but I really don't know the program. For some reason my computer runs very slowly when I try to access the tutorials and guides hosted here on the site, and even WITH those guides...I'm still pretty clueless.

I've never used a program remotely like this before...but everyone has got to start somewhere, right? Is there a first-timer tutorial out there, or am I on my own?

Polling / Re: What's your favorite Chrono Trigger quote?
« on: July 12, 2008, 01:47:23 pm »
Out of the ones there, I chose "Heal-thy? Got a nice ring to it!" because I've always liked that quote...Imagine a time when things are so bad that people don't even know what it means to be well! But Marle and Crono brought hope to the people in 2300 AD.

My favorite quote is between Frog and Ayla, though:

Ayla: Yummy frog. Ayla eat?
Frog: P-perish the thought, lass! By the way, whither be the blue-haired one?
Ayla: Why, blue-haired one better to eat?

1999 AD, on the Day of Lavos...nothing like the destruction of civilization as we know it to ruin a good picnic!

And the Reptite Lair...I mean, even if it DIDN'T get obliterated by Lavos' fall, it's still unbearably hot there.

Last time I checked, Wikipedia listed Chrono Trigger as the second greatest game of all time...
