Last Saturday I graduated from college, too...  Such a good feeling.  I've been celebrating with pretty much non-stop Super Smash Brothers.  WOOT!

Ahhh...  The joys of Lufia II...  Some of the puzzles were confusing as all get out.

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Re: Crono's Age?

Well I think the game is purposely vague in stuff like this.  Just like how Crono is mute to allow you to better personify yourself through Crono, other venues (such as age) were probably left vague so you could likewise find a common theme.

As for Guardia... I've actually wondered for a while if in the alpha the millenia fair was happening in 1999 (hence the technology seen in pre-release versions, the mentions of earth quakes, and the fact that 1000 AD is the only era without a Lavos influence). If that was the case, I suspect it was reordered to make the apocalypse future more interesting. But totally unimportant for actual analysis.

That's actually my take on it.  I always thought the airplanes were awfully out of place in the demo (considering that 1000 AD was still a monarchy with limited technology - yeah, sure we see refrigerators and radios, but not once did I see evidence of electricity or transmittors).

As for the Dragon Tank - perhaps the best and the brightest (except for Lucca) helped make the Dragon Tank, much akin to a Chrono-equivalent Manhatten Project of sorts.  Perhaps Taban had a role in the creation of the Dragon Tank? (speculation, no doubt)

Star Ocean: TTEOT was good because it actually felt like a sci-fi game with interplanetary travel.  Don't get me wrong; I absolutely LOVED Star Ocean 1/2, but both of them didn't really end up as sci-fi as I hoped.  Such as, in Star Ocean 2, Claude's laser gun is useless after he uses it once.  Thus he turns to using swords...  Not much of a lazer gun, eh Claude?

Did anyone play the Game Boy sequel to Star Ocean 2?

Agreed...  Lovely.  And Kid as character numero eight - not a bad idea.  If she just develops her magical abilities she has the magical powers of Schala!  Woot!

Official sources call Crono a "teenager".

So late teens.

Although Cid Highwind smells like a bar ashtray at 3:00 AM, I vote Cid Highwind for the Awesomeness award.

As for female...

Circa Final Fantasy VII it was hands down Aerith (aka Aeris), but after Advent Children Tifa quickly rose in status.  Now I don't know who's more perfect...

So I'll pick Marzipan.
