This is a little off topic, but someone with a better understanding of the RD plot could help me out...

In the RD reality, what is the role of the Frozen Flame?

This is random banter on my end, but if the Frozen Flame's role in RD is the same as it is in CC (certain magical/energetic properties that seem to "grant wishes", to a degree), then perhaps RD takes place in a universe in which the Chrono Trigger either doesn't exist, doesn't work, or was never given to Crono and company.

My logic in this assessment is that Lucca wants the Frozen Flame to put on a friend's grave.  The only friend we know of, and if I understand correctly, RD points towards this deceased character being Crono.  Knowing that Crono was killed in Lavos, and seeing that we have no other instances of Crono dying, it just seems logical to me that Crono was never actually revived.  Thus, perhaps, Lucca's goal was to obtain the Frozen Flame and potentially revive Crono?

Just a random thought.  I'm sure this connection has been made by others - it's nothing monumental.

(sigh)  Speculation is a bitch.

I wonder how this is moving along...?

Well according to Chrono Cross she was killed by Lynx (in one of the dimensions - I don't remember which one).

Most likely she ended up like Terra Bradford from Final Fantasy VI, starting up an orphanage.

Wait a tic.  I just thought of something.  Perhaps an orphanage was erected because of the Porre-Guardia war (circa 1005 AD).  The war left many orphans, thus the need for an orphanage...

Bah!  Ah well!  It's all banter anyway...

Sounds awesome!

Plus, Cloud's mind growth rate is actually only that of a 14 year old, or so I recall from the game. He's no second rate angst filled teen, he is an angst filled teen.

I'm so glad that someone else has pointed this out.  I mean, Cloud (and Zack) were cryogenically frozen for several years, thus his body may have grown, but his mine remained the same - a teenager.  I always wondered about the whole 21-year old body with a 15-year old mentality.

NOTE: The ages above are approximates and most likely incorrect.

Woops!  My bad, dude.  I was gone for five days so I had A LOT of Compendium reading to catch up on.  That's a lot of posts.  So I mostly did skimming...  Once again, my bad.

Does anyone have a PS2 they could lend me?  (My got stolen a year and a half ago - the day before Christmas, too.)

The above quote was actually sarcasm, but thanks for responding!

Well we know that Gaea's Navel existed outside of the Chrono Cross time line.  Although it isn't visible during the events of Chrono Trigger, it is there.  We see within the bowels of Chronopolis that it is the only natural component of El Nido.  Looking at it that way, Leah could actually be Ayla's mother.

In my opinion, this minor fact is no different than Kino's mysterious origins (found as a baby in the Mystic Mountains of 65 million BC).  There just aren't enough to facts to provide any sort of closure or guidance, so pure speculation is the only option with the Ayla-Leah connection.

Then again, perhaps it really was just a nod to the fans of Chrono Trigger...

But their ARE faults in the game, like the camera zooming out way too far and the fact that you have to play the entire single player mode to unlock all the characters.

Clearly someone doesn't want much replay out of their game, nor do they want to WORK for anything.  If you've played any of the other Smash Brothers games playing through the Subspace Emissary (the one-player campaign) is almost TOO EASY to get all the extra characters.

Explore the Compendium.  Take some real, legitimate time to listen to those who can help you, and look through Kajar Labs to get proper aide.  Good luck if you do end up going through with this.

Meh. The Network cancelled Firefly, which is quite possibly one of the best pieces of science fiction ever (in any media form).

So can I just say that I just now fell in love with Firefly?  I remember hearing about it when it debuted... and when it got cancelled... and when Serenity came out, and I always ASSUMED I would like it, but I didn't know any fans and it never got exposed to me.

So earlier today I was flipping through channels (I don't watch TV often) and I ended up watching three episodes.  To say the least, I just bought the Season One boxed set...  So consider me a fan.
