I'm not really feeling "rage" per-say but this does seem to be unquestionable laziness.

At the very least the person/people in question could have provided the Compendium as a source. He/She should know better than to just rudely take stuff from people and claim it as their own...  :(

That or they in fact didn't copy it and this is just the oddest case of being on the same wavelength ever...  :D

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Was Chrono Cross too easy ?
« on: June 15, 2011, 11:27:40 pm »
I'm an RPG player so I rarely find RPGs difficult anyway. I do feel that the game was quite easy, but I'm not one to give an assessment of the everyday player...

Am I the ONLY person here who had no real difficulty fighting Miguel?

The only problem I had was against the Time Devourer (and that was just for getting the true ending; otherwise she's fairly simple to beat) and for that I found a sure fire way that involves using Leena.

Well we’re resurrecting this old idea and I’ve decided one the first three stories. They will al be mine; go nepotism, but seriously I have a reason. It has been so long that I need to go through everyone’s ideas again and I need to attract attention to the project again: this is simply quicker for now.

In this case I was hoping we could have the first issue out by late July/Early August so I am recruiting artists of any decent caliber to try your hand in this. I have three scripts prepared and two of them are fairly short.

I’ll also need a cover and back-cover artist (Zephira has kindly volunteered to color said cover and back cover for us).

Of course writers and other interested parties may gather here to discuss the project as a whole as well; please show your support and interest.

True, but then you  have so many people to keep up with, and every single one has their own abilities, and then you're stuck leveling every single one up, hoping to find the right combination, and THEN you have the story-driven characters you keep together because...

...okay, I'm just putting this out right now: I would have found it a whole lot easier with all the characters if you could swap them out at any time, like in Chrono Trigger. Having to wait 'till a savepoint or map screen got frustrating at times.

Also some of the characters are so underdeveloped it makes using them feel meaningless; that is perhaps the biggest flaw for this otherwise enjoyable game - it was difficult to invest my concern for the characters when most of them seemed so well~ - pointless.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Newbie Here!

Thanks for the welcome!

Compared of Call Of Duty games, Chrono Cross is very long, as it takes more than 6 hours to beat. (Though for an RPG it's not the longest game out there.)

These people are hipsters because all they play are mainstream "hip" games...
These people are close minded because they refuse to try something new / old...

I play FPS's as well- Only difference is that I don't only play FPS games.

Well I was mostly being silly anyway, but I can understand why you'd take me seriously; a lot of people can act very stingy (and downright crazy) over silly things; video games included.

I do get what your saying; they will only play what is seen as cool; and well there is nothing wrong with playing popular games, using it as an excuse to shun other games you've never even given a chance to is quite close minded...

Although I don't think "hipster" is the right word for that - close but there is a better word...
It's on the tip of my tongue but I can't remember which word it was...

I think we had this once...
I'm not 100% sure though.

Mine is Leena (either world); she seemed like a strong kind of young women with a fairly big heart, not to mention you get that funny moment if you bring her with you to enter the swamp when you are trying to get the cure for Kid.

Leena and Serge forever! (although I love Kid too)

I plan on it. I don't know any Chrono series fans. All of my friends are Call Of Duty hipsters.

I tried, I tried to convince them! But nooooo! The game "takes too long!"

Chrono games take to long? I mean I love them, but they aren't that long...

I never had any trouble...
Well except for the True/Good ending in Cross; I admit I almost had to use a guide to figure out how to get it; I couldn't remember the element order; then it was getting the thing without it getting broken, I then came up with a fool proof way to always get it easy. I don't remember exactly what it was, but it involved Leena...

That, my friend, is FPS syndrome. These people also tend to suffer from a serious illness called...

Cynical
Lypo
Omniciant
Syndrome
Ending
Dehydration
Mildly
Idling
Nevermore
Dynthosium
Ecstacy
Domanium

It's kind of mean to call them hipsters/close-minded/or ill just because they like FPS and don't like Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross; although I'm not very good at FPS and don't really like them well I do love the Chrono games, people have different tastes and there is nothing wrong with that.
Although I really don't get the complaint that the game is long...

...

Oh I almost forgot; welcome!  :D

It's amazing people on other forums get so worked up about this. It really has nothing to do with optimal forum usage. It's all about promulgating means of social conformity. "THIS IS OUR CUSTOM!! TO BE LIKE US YOU MUST ACT LIKE US!!!"

Bosh.

There are a few plausible reasons why people don't like thread necromancy beyond conformity; I've never really seen other board try to force it upon each other and I have seen many other boards that have nothing against it. It just seems like a rule a lot of people enjoy...

Personally I couldn't care one way or the other; it doesn't seem like that big of an issue, as long as people respect the rules of the board they are using.

Chrono Compendium Discussion / Re: "Myth 4: The music sucks!" ?
« on: June 13, 2011, 01:51:02 am »
I know the game could use a little polishing and isn't perfect, but the music was...  :D ...  :(

 Okay yes the music got a little grating at times; it was very nice music but - I don't know it just does...

Of course I liked the music, but I have to agree with where the sentiment probably comes from; saying it sucked is a gross misrepresentation of the problem though.

Although I have no idea what the actual problem with the music is.  :?

Hey I was here before you!  :D You should be bowing to my obvious seniority and awesomeness; yet I shall forgive you for not doing so~.

Welcome back; whoever you are...  :|

That would certainly be an honour. Together, we shall inject some life back into this place! Get fired up, you bastards! :kamina
I'm very eager to shee this come to fruition.

I already mentioned this somewhere else but I'm currently gathering some of my old ideas together. I will prepare the first three scripts myself then recruit four artists; one for the cover and back cover and three for the stories. Of course if an artist wants to pull double duty and do more than one they can (the middle story is going to be pretty short so~).

Later "issues" shall include stories by other writers, but I figure it would be quicker to drum up attention if we got an issue out to show people we're serious and the quickest way to do that is me writing all the scripts for the first one.

Welcome / Birthday / Seeya! Forum / Re: The End of Time

Ya those Nus were my doing. I think the word you're looking for is "distinguished". :P

And you did a great job with them :D Good to know you've kept busy.
I think :( is my favourite though. Too cute!

  <- My favorite!

Anyway; for the newer people and as a reminder, my name is Mikey, OM, Overlord, or OverlordMikey and I started a Chrono Compendium Dōjinshi Circle Project yet I vanish later. I have returned with a renewed desire to restart said Chrono Compendium Dōjinshi Circle. More info pending~. I've decide to go though the old post and find some my old ideas which I will compile for our first issue then recruit some artists into the group and see if making an issue won't attract some attention.

Back to the point; I'm twenty-five, bisexual, kinda sarcastic crossed with zany, love Discworld, love cute things, enjoy writing and good stories, love pasta, support Serge/Leena (although I love Kid; I think of her and Serge as buddies) , Marle was one of my favorite characters from Chrono Trigger, and I think Lavos is cute (he looks like a giant tick - only cute; oddly I hate ticks) and totally wanna ride on his shell.

I also used to have this terrible tendency; my spelling was filled with typos. Although looking back it's a great source of narm and makes me laugh!

WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!

I find it highly unlikely that all of you are reappearing in the same three-day period. But I like it! :)

It's part of an evil conspiracy; if you know me you know I love being a villain...

Oh hey, I remember you! You were awesome! I came back just a few hours before you apparently, so I get to welcome you back. Hi!

As always, I offer my (slow) colouring services to your projects!

We graciously accept your assistance when the time comes! :D
Perhaps you can color the "covers" and "back covers" once we get everything set up.

Well I am trying to revive the Chrono Compendium Dōjinshi Circle Project; I think that would make for an interesting subject matter.

I do have an idea I'm rolling around in my head...  :D

15
Welcome back, Mikey! XD If you'd like to start with Doujin Circle again, I think Fleabane could be an early entry.

Thanks; it is so nice to be remembered...   :)
I've been gone too long- [looks up Fleabane] I'll totally need to check more out as soon as possible, but that seems like a cool project so yeah~ most certainly.

Anyway; I'm not sure if I should use the old post or make a new one, but we need to attract some attention to the fact that the project is being revived and anyone is welcome to participate as long as they put something into it.  :)

I actually still have one of my favorite Dōjinshi scripts from before I left too; I just need an artist who wants to draw it.

Let's revive the Chrono Compendium Dōjinshi Circle Project!  :D
