This is what bothers me. We don't really know how much the entity actually did. And some theories kinda use the entity as a Deus Ex Machina. But if we actually did know what the timeline looked like without the Entity we might be able to decipher some of these unexplained plot holes. And actually Kodokami and Vehek, you both point out two things I was thinking about. What if those things happen naturally in the timeline without the entities doing? Wouldn't make it safer to assume that the entity did choose Crono Marle and Lucca if they are to naturally learn about time travel anyway?

I feel like this exists somewhere, but something's been bothering me and knowing this would be helpful.

Chrono News / Re: Guys, I think it's hype time!
« on: June 15, 2015, 09:15:08 am »
Isn't Brink of Time in like a month? They wouldn't just be opening a stream for it right? That would be a dick move to not make a game for this much hype. They kinda centered the video around it.

There are TONS of things it could be. And not to mention who says all 6 bleeps are the same game? There could be 6 different games. Notice KH wasn't mentioned? What if it's just Glenn in KH? I mean an Action RPG is completely possible, remember CT was suppose to be an action RPG when it was first conceived, but then development split into CT and SoM. I find it interesting that FF15 is in BETA and is probably going to be released next year without a FF16 announced yet. I find it interesting KH3 wasn't mentioned at all in that video. I still cant believe that Square would say FF7 is coming to PS4 but then just ported it... again. SE is one of the worst companies of all time. We like to believe their getting better but we can't be 100%.

The only things we know is 1 to 6 things are going to be announced (why announce any of that before E3? then you might not watch) and at least one of them is Chrono related. The song was an 8-bit-esq remix of frogs theme, which seems to be the center of the video. Could it be a game centered around Frog? Maybe a game about his descendant and his attempt to take the Mastermune and reclaim Porre from Dalton? I hope it's just Chrono Brake... I've waited too long for this.

P.S. Turn based games are obsolete. I'd rather have some sort of team based action rpg where I have double and triple attacks. And I don't want a Glenn based main hero. Plz new guy! AND TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED TO SCHALA/KID/SERGE/ALL OF EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING AFTER CROSS!!!!

Submissions / Glenn fanart

A good friend of mine drew me an epic pic of Frog for my birthday a couple months ago. I just found his tumblr so I thought I'd share his Chrono art. He's gotten a lot better at drawing recently as well.

Flash forward in time. In 590AD Magus killed Cyrus and broke the Masamune. He knew of it's potential and knew that it could tear down his magic defense. It certainly wasn't the only way to defeat Magus, but Magus identified it as a threat never-the-less. Notice the flashback in 590AD, when Cyrus was killed and Glenn was turned into Frog. Magus confronted Cyrus (and the Masamune) confidently (and a bit cocky, almost), and he certainly didn't act afraid of the Masamune. Thus, I would wager that although the Masamune could harm Magus, he wasn't all that threatened by it. He was swatting just one more fly that stood in his way by breaking the Masamune.

I wouldn't say the Masamune wasn't a threat to Magus.  It was Cyrus that wasn't a threat to Magus, because he didn't know how to use the magical weapon to its fullest potential.  Or, another possibility is that Cyrus was an enormous threat to Magus because he didn't know how to control the awesome weapon, and Magus was forced to destroy them both to protect himself.  I think the latter is the more likely event, from a narrative standpoint.  Otherwise, why not just slap Cyrus aside and take the weapon from him?  Granted, I'm thinking beyond established canon here.

Well in the scene where they fight, Magus seems to be very uncaring. He beat the shit out of both of them and was like let's insult to injury. He basically lulz their lives to complete devastation. Killing Cyrus as punishment for fighting him, breaking the Masamune to teach them a lesson, and changing Glenn to a frog because he thought it'd be funny.... it kinda was. That's why we love him, he's such a douche lol

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Chrono rumor...
« on: October 18, 2012, 05:44:44 pm »
I'm not gonna lie. I think this rumor is posted twice a year on the Compendium, if not more. Let's pretend this didn't happen and wait till the announcement. AND EVEN THEN let's wait till it's released. Let's not pretend that FF13 was everything we wanted in the next FF. Let's not pretend the Mana series has been great lately. And remember a lot of things get scraped before being announced anyway... except you know FFv13n

General Discussion / Anyone listen to Kpop?

Just curious since Psy went big, I was wondering if anyone else but me listens to kpop. I love BigBang, would love to see if any other VIPs are here. :D

Altered from canon or not, this version of events don't sound like something that would make much sense.

Wasn't Magus as the Prophet the one responsible for Melchior being sent to Mt. Woe? If he was planning to use the Masamune why do that when the sword was still incomplete?

Let's assume he knew the sword wouldn't be complete in time and let's assume he had no idea Melchior created the sword. I mean... do we know how the Masamune was created in the original timeline? Chrono isn't there to thrust it into the Mamon Machine, and we have no other hints right now. At least not in this thread

I don't think Magus really cared to much for the Masamune. If I remember correctly he was surprised how strong it became. If it wasn't strong enough to worry him then why want it? Plus he assumed it was destroyed. (I think)

Aw, this makes me sad. Hey maybe since its met its expiration date something out of the blue might happen. Right? right? Like another company which houses most of the creators can pick it up, right? (crosses fingers)

Yeah I live in a dream world.

Let's put it this way. There's always a chance the story has gone through enough revisions that it wouldn't called Chrono Brake/Break anymore anyway.

I remember this image. But I'm fairly certain it's fake. I remember some site proving what games those images came from. But this around 2000 or 2001 so it's very loose. Don't entirely trust me.

General Discussion / Re: Video Game Discussion Thread

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but rumor is that Versus XIII has been cancelled.

http://kotaku.com/5927645/rumor-final-fantasy-versus-xiii-is-dead

EDIT: Whoops, turns out the rumor is false!

http://kotaku.com/final-fantasy-versus-xiii/

Here's the thing, we haven't seen anything new since XIII's reviews and XIII-2's announcements. This is always thought of as "Oh they must not be making it." But after KH3D, Nomura said that was the last KH spinoff, for now, and that means he's free for VersusXIII. The reason they probably haven't announced anything was that they announced 13, and had no development done to it, so they are holing off information on Versus till they are close to finished with it or at least have something new to show.

That's not the point. The point is to do more than simply act like mosquitoes with a bunch of pointless petitions they never take notice of.

They'll take notice of someone buying what has been their intellectual property for the past what, 10, almost 20 years now?.. right out from under their noses.

Somehow I don't believe this. Japanese game developers appear to only speak in sales and price tags. From Capcom to SquareEnix. Nothing will send them a message other than money. I mean how long did it take capcom to make fighting games again? How about Megaman Legends 3? And how did they go about this, by milking them. Look at all the Street Fighter 4s they made. 4, super, arcade edition, and xTekken. Then they finally release MvC3 only to release Ultimate MvC3 six months later.

The Chrono Compendium - Yes, we are still waiting for Chrono Break

The Chrono Compendium - Because we are too lazy to like anything new

The Chrono Compendium - Because we are too poor to buy the franchise for ourselves

The Chrono Compendium - Second most disappointed fan site on the internet. Cheers Starmen.net
