I don't recall ever seeing anything like that, but there are so many things in Cross that you can skip over. It is possible she could have met with Luccia outside of Porre. Also be kind of weird to sell weapons to an enemy nation from your house. THE ORPHANS WHERE ALL A COVER, SHE USED THEM AS CHEAP LABOR!!!

I don't know, the Gurus have this nak of avoiding death, but by 1020, it could be safe to assume age finally caught up with him. Since he didn't have the connivance of 2300-2400ad medicine like his other friends did. :p

When you flash back to the fire scene in Cross, if you have time you can examine a receipt that says
Quote from: From Cross's Script
[Receipt]
     Receipt for
   Goods Received
   1 - KJ830
     - Porre Navy

As for the orphans, didn't you find it a little strange that Lucca left most of them behind to die? She only helped Kid because she was part of a bigger plan. ALL SIGNS POINT TO LUCCA HAVING TURNED INTO THE WRETCH OF THE SERIES ;_;

As for the guru thing, Melchior had magic on his side, so it's possible he'd live long...

ALL ACCORDING TO HER PLAN Oh-ho-ho-ho!!!! Foolish orphans your where nothing but fuel for my plan, NOW BURN. I always found it ironic that Lucca's house burnt down, Lucca, who used fire magic........ Did Lynx start the fire? Did he really? I remember one theory some said she jumped out the window that Harle and Lynx was looking out.

Its fun to scrutinize characters into villains :p .

Anyway, so that might still leave Melchior willingness to help. If he didn't die before hand.

Wasn't there a receipt in Chrono Cross that showed Lucca sold weapons to Porre? And her relationship with Luccia...

As for Melchior, he's probably dead.

I don't recall ever seeing anything like that, but there are so many things in Cross that you can skip over. It is possible she could have met with Luccia outside of Porre. Also be kind of weird to sell weapons to an enemy nation from your house, although still possible. "Was it during the house burning down?" THE ORPHANS WHERE ALL A COVER, SHE USED THEM AS CHEAP LABOR!!!

I always wounder if Lucca had some resentment towards Marle. Taking away her "best friend".

I did a quick search on this subject but couldn't find anything recent, so I apologize if I am bring back a dead subject in advance.

So I finally was able to beat Chrono Cross this passing weekend "great game btw", after beating the CT:DS release, and thought to myself how impressive, that just one Guru was able to pull all that off.

I then remember the ending cutsence  in Trigger where Melchior is happily attending a wedding with a bottle of wine in hand.

This provoked two thoughts in me, where is Melchior during 1005-1020? Would Melchior help in Guardia affairs? Would that extend to its reconstruction "if it wasn't out right destroyed in 1005?" I assume it still is around in some form what General Kid said.

First we can assume two things.

1. Melchior was on very friendly terms with Crono and Marle, why else would he show up their wedding? Not to mention Crono and Co saving him.

2. He probably didn't really care for Dalton. If this scene has any merit , because being hit by a fireball is never fun.

So, if we can assume that Melchior didn't die of old age immediately after trigger "how old is he anyway", and if Guardia wasn't sacked to nothing "Which I think it is implied in Cross that it was still around" He would probably be more then willing to help them. I remember Melchior stating something about giving up the weapons business because of how peaceful the world is now. "Or something along those lines, I don't recall 100%" Obviously that wouldn't last for every long.

So if he is still around, that would have Melchior and Lucca,  "atleast until 1015AD" perhaps two of the greatest minds in all of the Chrono series on the side of Guardia. Even though Melchior lives near Medina. If the Masamune quest from trigger was any indication, they could easily work together.

On a side note, if Schala really wanted to make Kid happy, she probably did something about Lucca's problem. "The being dead/missing problem." So We could even assume Lucca is probably even still around by the time 1020 hits. That is, if we are assuming she didn't change the events of 1005 AD as well.

Also, even though this might be reading too much into things, Melchior probably would help Magus if he was to ever see Magus, and if he knew about the Magus and Janus connection.

If Belthasar collaborated with Lucca in some way for the events of cross, would it be safe to assume that Melchior probably helped as well?

So, what ever did happen to Melchior?

I've read some of Shadow's posts........ :picardno Now feel better about that actions taken here.

This topic is to find out both what we want and what we expect to see. There's a lot of questions to be asked:

1. Would we see characters from the other games? Would the setting stay the same, or would the story take place elsewhere?
2. Time travel, dimensional travel, or (oh god) both?
3. Akira Toriyama or Nobuteru Yuuki? Or some new blood?
4. A huge team of playable characters like CC, or a smaller team like CT?
5. Battle transition for encounters (CC), or fight right on the field (CT)?
6. A battle system like the other titles, or entirely different?
7. Console or portable?
8. Is it possible that both CT fans and CC fans alike can be pleased?
9. Is there hope for another game in the first place?

1. Yes, maybe even explain what actually happens to them. In both games :p . Cross didn't really explain what happen to the islands, and how they where effected, after the ending, just that they did it. Also, what the hell happend to Crono and crew?

2. BOTH!

3. Akira, I like how his character designs tend to be more practice, rather then have a character with 6 belts on them. Also, how you usually wont mistaken a character's gender, unless it is completely intentional "DAMN YOU FLEA!  "

4. I actually wouldn't mind so many characters, but maybe reduce the amount you can have join youto better develop them. One thing I loved in Cross was the amound of character you could have, but you always had to have serge in the group, so you could only really ever have 2 of them with you at a time.... RPGs tend to have this knack of having three to a group, so another thing I would love to see is maybe see that go up , 4 - 6.

5. I think fight on the field is just plain awesome. Its a pity more games don't take after this. I would also love to see how the field effect the battle like it did in Cross, where the elements would change depending on the area. Also how in trigger, distance could effect some of your tech attacks. Maybe add some more interesting things like have enemies on another elevation, unable to be hit by someone with a melee weapon without some sort of special attack or magic.

6. Originality is always good. I however, would love to see double and triple techs have more of an important role in the next game. On another note, I thought Cross had one of the best melee/range attack systems ever. I did not really care for the element system. Interesting idea, but just didn't like how you had to plan ahead of time for the next fight "with no knowledge on what you are about to fight without cheating", or some elements would be completely useless. Granted you had the ability to run away in any fight for that reason .

7. Console, defiantly a console.

8. With the amount of hate I've seen from BOTH SIDES, that would be impossible. Heck I've seen users here hate on every opportunity they get when someone simply express an opinion.

9. If the CT:DS release manages to outsell there other re:releases then you bet your ass it does.

Now I'm imagining Dalton's voice is the same as Skeletor or Megatron...! >_>

That would be AWESOME!

Ha! That's probably why I didn't suggest Tetsuya Nomura, though I do adore his art as well.

Come to think of it though, I really wouldn't mind seeing Dalton in a luxurious Porrean-tailored trenchcoat in Chrono Break. You see, he'd have a trenchcoat and an eyepatch, and that makes it...new.

His eye patch would have a diamond encrusted on it, with a 24k gold strap. With the side possibility of shooting lasers.

Soldier: "Dalton Sir, I come with bad news"
Dalton: "YOU HAVE FAILED ME FOR THE LAST TIME!" <shuuww>

Soldier:"AHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

I wrote in another thread I happen to prefer Toriyama's basic character designs over Yuuki's, so I wouldn't mind. Though, if I really had a choice in the matter I'd pick either Senri Kita (recent Fire Emblem games) or Fumi Ishikawa (Suikoden II, III) for the artwork. I'd really like to see someone re-interpret characters designed by Toriyama.

EDIT: Wait, scratch that -- either the Valkyrie Profile artist or whoever did the character art for Drakengard II. Delish.
I see....

As long as they avoid this we should all be fine.

Good find, man, I've been looking for this for a while.

.... I've been using this sites for weeks. I would have posted the link had I known it was a secret.

In any case, what do you suppose could happen if this port manages to sell over a million, or even 2 million units? It might just force them to make another sequel, or maybe they already have one in mind :) .

I'd certainly like to think Square Enix is testing the waters here. Kato and Mitsuda teamed up for Sands of Destruction already, so a Dream Team alignment is still possible...though by "Dream Team" I really just mean Kato and Mitsuda. :D

Psh, are you going to denied the selling power of Akira Toriyama because of some grudge you have on forums?  For shame, I thought you wanted this series to do well :( .

Although if they have Nobuteru giant robots, that would be awesome too :p .

I never had that happen, that just sounds odd though.

As valid as speculation is, we can't tote it as fact--at times we've carried this Magus is Guile idea to the point where we're making assumptions off of unproven assumptions. As blatant as we think the in-game text may be, it's still ambiguous to the point where we're still left in the dark.

It's a possibility, like Justin said, but it's not grounded in cement yet.

Indeed that is true, there is nothing 100% proven that Magus will become Guile. For all we know he could have been place at any point in time, and become anyone he wants.

I personally, wish they did something else with Magus in this ending, ZeaLitY said it the best.

rebuked by Schala and resigned to commit mental suicide is hard to bear.
The long haired, Pale skin, Magus kills himself "mentally".......... (Do I really need to say what that reminds you of?) GREAT, JUST GREAT SQUARE, can you make one game without that? He was always dangerously close before, but now..... Don't get me wrong, the mental suicide fits sure....

O well, he still has one of my favorite quotes.

"If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh."

Kajar Laboratories / Re: SSB Chrono Style: need help

I actually have battle stadium D.O.N . It is a fun game, but god is it unpolished. First, the cut sense in that game are just awkward and weird looking. Actual matches, if you do it right, can take hours "I had a match that lasted 2" if you decide to turn off the time limit. The game is so random that you could be winning the entire game, and at the last 3 seconds, someone can take all of your "orbs" and win the match. It is ridiculous. Most of the one piece characters are just cheap. "Not that I minded since that who I ended up picking half the time."

Anyway, yeah, I remember some made a really nice list of all the moves Crono could do in a SSB game before they closed down the official boards at Nintendo for some strange reason.

She's on this forum; she drew it while on these forums.

Lovely, I hope to see more of her work then, now that I actually know who she is :) .
