No, because you were saing that magic was stolen from Lavos. But in fact, the energy to do things was stolen from Lavos, and was converted into a way of using magic.

As I said before, Magic = Energy.

Proof? In CT magic is manipulation of the four elements. Innates do not even need energy to use magic (as far as I've know, at least). By Innate I mean someone who can naturally use magic, by the way. Not the colours in CC.

The people of Zeal need energy to use magic because although they are gifted with the power to use magic, they do not possess the natural energy needed to manipulate the elements. So yeah, I see where you're coming from as all evidence shows that energy is needed to use magic, but that does not mean Magis is energy by any means.

There is no such thing as lavoid magic. He's not an innate, and innates aren't of Lavos. Though his mutation process placed upon humans allowed them to tap into using it by themselves.

No one ever said he was, but he is a well of magic, since he can use it and it can be taken from him.

No, he is a well of energy and as such he can use that energy to use magic. Lavos is never spoken of (by citizens of Zeal, at least) as if he has magic, but he is said to have energy and power.

There is nothing unnatural in the Chrono Universe, except for the unnatural evolution speed that humans evolved thanks to an outside source. Everything else exists because it can. Reptites, Humans, Apes, Mystics, Demi-Humans, Hydras, Dragons, Red Moons, dimension travelling boys, star stealing girls lol etc.

There's nothing unnatural in the Chrono Universe? Hm...Machines, Time Eggs, Alternate Universes caused by saving some kid's life that defies known Time Traveling Laws, Kid herself, the Time Devourer, Time Travel itself, Magic, Elements, FATE, the Dragon God, the Masamune, am I missing anything?

I think he means 'nothing that goes against the rules set down by the game itself'.

It's likely that Guardia was formed from the inhabitants of the last village, and remained as the largest power until people began to split off and create new towns. I haven't checked the location however, and a lot can change in... uh, is it 35, 000 years?

Also with this frozen flame stuff- it was used in the founding of Zeal, correct? If it was used to make Guardia a huge power also, coupled with the whole 'pendant' thing, it's likely that Guardia was originally created by survivors and earthbound ones as a 'neo-Zeal'.

I haven't read the topic that ZeaLitY linked to yet, so I don't know if this is mentioned there, but Guile was originally Gil, a character from Radical Dreamers who was in fact Magus searching for Schala. However, the developers decided to remove Guile's Magus backstory and be became just another character.

All those examples you list are from sources that aren't related to the Chrono series. It's an interesting idea, but for it to have weight, you'd need to support it with evidence from the Chrono series.

Goku was designed by the character designer for Chrono Trigger, Akira Toriyama. So, there is a related example.

I, personally think it's a lovely coincidence but probably not intended. Thumbs up for noticing it however.

Yeah, Jonathan, that is what Masa/Mune said.

Someone mentioned that Masa and Mune were out of the sword in Ocean palace- they're out of the sword in Denadoro Mts. too. If they were created to aid in the destruction of the MM but not bound to the sword as such then maybe the MM bound them to the sword, creating the Masamune? But, anyway.

I also agree with Jonathan that it was considered legendary due to it being so hard to acquire.

On a slightly related note, I have heard that some people believe that Dalton stole the Masamune and destroyed Guardia- what are the reasons for this? And also, do Masa and Mune only possess the power to stop the Masamune from being retrieved from the stone, or do you think that they can stop it being used? Because in all honesty if they possessed the power to stop a person from using the blade, why would they let an asshole like Dalton near it?

Sorry if this is considered unrelated but it is to do with the Masamune.

Well, hello I guess... I'd better start by introducing myself. My username is Mystic Frog King, but you can call my Kaze. I am a huge fan of Chrono Trigger (somewhat obviously), the anime Full Metal Alchemist and the videogames Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy. I joined this site after being converted (I dare not say upgraded lest I sound like a Cyberman)  into a Chrono fan by a lovely person you may or may not know who goes by the name of Faf or Fafnir. My favourite Chrono characters are Masa and Mune but my favourite playable characters are Crono and Frog.

So, I hope I stay here a long time and you're all nice and friendly and patient enough to put up with me. ¬.¬ So, yeah... hello all ^^
