General Discussion / Re: The Remake debate thread
« on: January 16, 2008, 05:34:30 pm »
I'd like a Chrono Cross remake. There are a lot of useless characters, and if they could streamline the plot, make Guile Magus and generally improve the consistency even to the point where they bring in elements of RD, it'd be brilliant.

And it'd be a chance to show those snobs that CC is a good game, if flawed...

Hopefully it ain't Sonic RPG.

I dunno; Mario translated into RPGs rather nicely, Sonic could too (or did they already do that?).

The issue with the Sonic RPG has the 'huge rpg' notice at the end of it, thank god.

General Discussion / Re: best areas in gaming

The Zanarkand Ruins in FFX are epic. The music is so emotional and fitting, especially as it plays through battles as well as the field. The place has Pyreflies floating everywhere, the scenery is amazing... Gah, it's so beautiful! Too bad X-2 killed the 'ancient' feel of the area by turning it into a tourist attraction...

X-2 killed everything good about X.

General Discussion / Re: Shōgun

Yes; it's based on the resolution of the warring states period and a true story about how an English sailor crashed in Japan in the general neighborhood of the events.

Ah, is it an accurate-ish portrayal?

Because if there's all sorts of facts wrong then I'm sort of put off it. But I will look it up next time I go to a book shop.

Haven't read the book, and as such didn't read more than a third of the post for fear of spoilers.

So I wiki'd it. It's a historical novel, about the rise of some shogun or other to power and shown through the eyes of an English sailor? If that summary was inaccurate, please tell me but that was what I got from skimming the wikipedia article. I may have to pick this up sometime- I assume you recommend it due to that long post you have there on it? =P

Screw Morgoth, Glaurung could kill all of these villains at once with a blink of his eye. Being a sexy dragon hypnotist 'n all that.

General Discussion / Re: It's that time for Final Fantasy again...

If there's any game worth getting a PS2 for, it isn't FF. Ico, SotC and Okami are much more worthy of your time.

But IMO you'd be best off getting X if you MUST play a Final Fantasy game.

Have you played FFs I-VI? If not, FFVI Advance would be a good choice.

Polling / Magus Vs. Sephiroth

I was thinking about this while watching advent children, who would win? In my personal opinion, I think... uhhh... I think... Gah, it's to hard for me to decide.

Oh, wait...

Anyway, I am not responsible for any mess, australian-style barbecue or nuclear disaster that occurs due to this thread.

And cupn00dles thus spoke:
If this was about Sehiroth vs. Magus, this might have been worth thinking about.
As The Bible says, this great sin was caused by cupn00dles. Yes. Yes indeed.

Now go to your room and think about what- Erm, yeah... Discuss.

Greetings. Welcome to the Chrono Compendium. We take checks, credit cards, or your eternal soul as payment for your time here.

I have neither of those things, since I already sold my soul

Twice, actually.

I was just over dramticising the phrase like usual

How morally witty of you.

Good. Or 'gid' as I believe some people say.
